background: I am american, living in Thailand, playing live in Vietnam.

So, I just got a pretty good score in Vietnam. Im headed back to Thailand soon. I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on exchanging my currency. I wlll be using some money in thailand for my living costs and perhaps opening a Thai bank account for some online play. I will also be coming back to Vietnam for more live action. I was wondering if I should exchange my dong before I leave Vietnam. If so, Should I get USD or Baht? I have to carry the money on the flight back to thailand tomorrow. Im just trying to figure out what the best method is. If you are firmiliar with exchange rates, Whats going down and whats coming up? USD - THB - VND

Thanks All!
Gregers

There was a guy in a thread on 2p2 who declared winnings after a tournament in the Caribbean and ended up in some refugee camp ****ting in a bucket. That was an insane thread.

You're probably going to be carrying more money than they've ever seen in their lives. A shady guard will find a way to shake you down for it. Not like it's a first-world country. Try to find an alternate means of transferring the money if possible.

Well, he didn't actually declare his cash. He thought he could beat customs by giving some of his cash to a buddy, because then they would both have < 10k. Then he admitted to what he did. So he went through customs with > 10k without declaring, and then got into legal trouble, which can happen when you break the law.

If I were to fly from Vietnam to Thailand with example $15,000USD cash. What would the process of declaring it entail? Also, What are some pros and cons? Thanks!
