best way to get a lot of answers in that is go to search thread and just type in "girls"- thats how i found lots of good info. Girls here are pretty hot imo and more importantly not too hard to approach etc. Lots of young people around, no probs there for sure

good few grinders in st pauls bay if that interests u- assume its cheaper. dont think st julians is too expensive tho for what it is, personally i think the side towards sliema is less good value. In a student area that has new apartments and is only 900 euros for a very nice 3 bed apartment

well I want to move mainly for the weather and sea, meeting grinders would be nice too but definitely would live without.
absolutely not paying 900€ month.
I´ve been browsing offers on dhalia and frank salt estates and it looks like you can get a nice flat about anywhere <500€ (no baller style obv).
Are these listings fakes or old and prices have raised drastically since?
I´m gonna email a guy at dhalia to know more but I prefer 2p2ers story especially since we all play poker here (i suppose).

the worst thing would be to land in a place where the connection sucks and you´re stuck there (idk if it´s possible to change place if you are not satisfied with connection).

uh oh that sounds promising

edit:st pauls bay, qawra, buggiba all these looks good to me landscape wise

You can always change place whenever you want, but you'll have to give up your deposit (1 months rent) and agency fee obviously since you'll need a new place (half month). Anyway, depending on what you want you can def find a decent enough 2 bedr place for around 500 and a 3 bedroom place from about 700-1k depending on where you want to be situated. Saint julians/sliema is gonna be more expensive then St pauls/everything not St julians/surroundings!

Most are old. Many of the listings are not exclusive to one estate firm so they dont know when they are taken (or thats how i got it explained), but you can email them to get pdf with whats available, but you get an idea of whats around. Prices should be the same and many you can probably get slightly lower then listed as there is a ton of empty apartments around in malta.

mainly all grinders live in sliema/st.julians area, bc here is teh nightlife, alot of restaurants and as being said other pokerplayers. obv you can just go to some rubbish town like marsaskala and pay half teh price or even less but there will be no nightlife, basically no tourists and way fewer restaurants. i would rather shoot myself in teh penis than living anywhere else then sliema, st. julians and surroundings. the only thing where quite a bit is going on as well is Buggiba and surrounding but this is teh english town and nothing compared tourist, girls and nightlife wise to sliema/st.ju

i like to splash as well and i'm fine. it gonna be very tough even if you like to ball spending anything moar than 5k euros a months if you not chose to get a place for like 4k or something like tis. the avg salary of a waiter here is around 4euro an hour, if you make 10 an hour u belong to teh better 50% for sure...

Okay yeah cheers guys, I usually live off around 5k AUD per month here in aus. Is it heaps of hassle like setting everything up? Getting internet, bank account (do i need this?), finding a house to rent etc? Sorry for so many questions. I am a massive travelling fish.

The ideal area for a poker player to live in Malta is St Julian’s and Sliema, with easy access to great restaurants, shopping center, night bars and clubs, cinema, bowling and beach clubs. The residential complex of Pender gardens which is located in St Julians is preferred by many professionals. Luxury living like this http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 is a standard.

If you are looking to go that extra mile and you like to have some fun and be the center of attention, this Villa is ideal at great price and perfect for sharing: http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 . The house can equipped with office desks and chairs on request. I can help with internet set up and if needed also to open bank account. We can provide all information and help including airport transfers.

If you are looking for a quiet area but still close to the action, Swieqi is ideal : http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 .

Not sure but you may want to look into the visa situation which isn't an issue for us Europeans.

On a different note, anyone have experience with ordering from supermarkets in st. julians area?

Probably just getting overly excited but I would really dig moving to Malta I think. Probably sometime like May. Does everyone have a car or not need one?

i'm probably one of maybe 10% players who has one. if u live in St.Ju/Sliema a car is ridiculously unnecessary...

Although some(many?) apartments are 6 months minimum there are definitely plenty of short term lets available. However price per month will go down significantly the longer the term you commit to. Were you only planning on staying 3 months?

Yeah I was gonna only stay 3 months so I didn't have to worry about getting a visa. Plus I haven't travelled much, don't know how I'd do for 6 months!
