Call +35679999690 (dave)

They are called DCABS (not ecabs) and the guy who runs them is a good friend of me. Tell him you are a pokerplayer if you like as well and give him my regards. Me and many other german players were/are using them exclusively. Rates are appr same what ecabs is charging.
I do not get any commission for this btw, i just want to see the guy do well bc he deserves to.

Peaze

hey guys, anybody in here who has a free room available?
Heading to Malta by the end of the month and will probably need a room for 2 weeks or maybe a month. Don't want to spend too much money for hotel room before finding an apartment on my own.
29yo from germany, also interested in poker/sportsbetting but only as a hobby nowadays.

Hello everyone ,

first message and I need some help first of all, sorry for my english, I'm from Spain.

I'm thinking of moving to Malta with my mother. I'm still not a good player but she'll help me out in the meantime. We're planning to move there for 1-3 years so I can become a self-sufficient good enough player. What I mean is she earns like 1300€ a month as a pensioner but I earn 0 €.

Will there be any problem for us to stay there for such a long time? Will Malta accept us in? what paperwork would be needed in this situation? I guess the majority of you that go to Malta are self-sufficient already...

well thanks in advanced!

AS per above you can stay in Malta as long as you want. However, at this point in the poker industry, relying on your mother to support you while you try to become a good poker player is something you should take a long time to consider before jumping into and get some good advice. There are very few people who I would recommend that path to

1.3k for a 2person household will be v difficult to survive. Flats became v expensive over teh years and food always was superexpensive. Also wat praetor said

yo, I'll move to Malta mid September. The office will be between the university and the msida skate park.
Is that a nice area to live in? When I was in Malta I didnt check out that part.
my plan was to get a flat somewhere in St Julian's, but living close to the office is really important imo. So I guess I'll change my plans

I joined some facebook groups with flats for rent. is that a realistic way to find a flat? or is it a better idea to contact an estate agent directly?

thanks,

marten

What do you mean by "at this point in the poker industry"?

it's not like I'm dead money, I've been playing for one year and a half, reading books and so. I know I still got a lot ahead to learn though and we're not moving tomorrow, I'll be moving there in one year, studying all the way. And we don't mind if it takes me 3-5 years for me to become a good player, the money doesn't necesarily need to come quickly...

well, thanks a lot you 3

There might be no money to be made in 3-5 years. Even if there is it will very likely only be made by a select few, and it will be significantly less than what you can make today, which is already significantly less than 3-5 years ago. I'd really advise against your plan unless you've basically got 0 other options.

How did Doyle manage to make a living on poker during the 70s 80s 90s? there were no poker boom nor as many investors as in this last decade.. I don't expect to be rich, just be able to eat and have shelter through this game .

those really are terrible news though....

thanks thanks thanks every1

putting it simply:

Do you guys think it'll be impossible to earn 1k-2k € a month in 3-5 years?

thanks

given how you ask it's questionable if you will ever make that much a month. (consistently)

will i make 1 or 2k a month 5 years from now. most likely, maybe 90% chance.

but what ambition is that anyways? making 2k a month?

when i started poker i wanted to make 20/month, i wanted to make a quarter million a year. it was possible back then. it wasn't even hard back then.
i dont think it will be possible to make that 5years from now apart from a very few elite players.

you are too late for the party. most guys from back in the days already moved on. most guys from the present try to get out of poker better sooner than later.

from what you write you seem to be young so either get an education, good college degree and take that route or selfeducate yourself in the internet and open a business or do something else which makes money, there are tons of options.

best of luck to you

90% chance I'll make that? I'll stick to poker, no question about it.

As I said all I need is shelter and food. Not sure why you all guys want that kind of money for :S. Ambition? what for? ambition and all the big money you accumulated will be buried down the ground alongside you. I know 99,99% of the people love money, I'm just a weirdo in this world who doesn't understand why. Is it leisure? no matter the amount you win, money won't ever overcome boredome and loneliness :S. Is it prestige? no one will recall you no matter the amount either :S.

To me it just feels like a present that in this ****ty world plenty full of silly and stupid works, I can find something I love doing. Not only that, but I can freely move abroad and not stay in a place, financial freedom I think you call it...

thanks a lot for that 90% answer, I'll asumme I'll have like a 88% chance of making 5k a months, which would be like being a millionare to me.

enjoy your money and thanks again.
