I am living alone and i have an average of 60-70 euros per month of electricity and water. Using nearly everyday the Air condition or reversible heater. Guess cooking with gaz make a small difference on the bill.

Since a lot of people seem to live in Pendergarden, I was wondering if anyone knew of a 2BR in Pendergarden that is available for a three month lease. Thanks

Howdi,

Got a spare room likely as early as February in a apartment in San Gwann Area (15min walk to st jules and where the rest of the poker clan live), ill prob be doing short stays for now so anyone coming into Malta to see what the place is like for the grinder, or anyone in-between accoms, might be open to longer stays.

Place pretty set up for poker, desks/chairs, Internet and a heater as its getting chilly now over here. Anyway,

PM me for details, GL to all in 2013.

huh are there many grinders there now? Had a quick look and it does seem there are apartments for rent there with some of the real estate agents like frank salt and remax. Not all the building is finished there tho so it might end up being a little noisy :P

I should be seeing the landlord on Monday, can ask him then if you like. Norm seems to be 6+ months in this place but may be negotiable, particularly at this time of year.

heres my potentially semi-accurate opinion its not legislated for but lottery winnings are tax-free. That being said, someone cant have lottery winner as their profession, so if poker is their full-time profession is that something that could be subject to income tax as a result? Possibly- people would disagree with me on that but the reality is other countries have decided in that way. There are laws stating certain investments not repatriated back to malta are tax-free as well so that might play a role in any decision (namely that poker is an investment and any earnings are capital gains not income), as it stands it isn`t really taxed but retroactive tax collecting is always a possibility. I`ll prob be onto lawyer/accountant before end of the year to try and figure it out.

Ah ok I`m at least half-right then I also looked up all the tax-breaks for gambling companies and executives available, and if that`s anything to go by they`ll leave the players alone and worry about far more lucrative items. I`m sure they`re busy enough with tourism related tax evasion anyways lol.

hi another question before getting there.
I plan to get a scooter since its a small island it seems perfect for short trips.
How are the roads there and the traffic?
Is this dangerous or people behave ok?
Anyone have a scooter there?
Ans anyone know a good place to get one?

The roads are not very nice, lot of holes etc.. Usually a lot of trafic as well.

People here drive totally crazy.. They don't care about the others exept themself while they are driving !

Good luck !!! Car is safer is Malta
