its not legislated for but lottery winnings are tax-free. That being said, someone cant have lottery winner as their profession, so if poker is their full-time profession is that something that could be subject to income tax as a result? Possibly- people would disagree with me on that but the reality is other countries have decided in that way. There are laws stating certain investments not repatriated back to malta are tax-free as well so that might play a role in any decision (namely that poker is an investment and any earnings are capital gains not income), as it stands it isn`t really taxed but retroactive tax collecting is always a possibility. I`ll prob be onto lawyer/accountant before end of the year to try and figure it out.
