Im arriving on sunday, if you declare yourself for applying to id card as a self suficcient, i think you dont need the 185 days, but im not sure, theres a bit of complexity, i guess i will try to figure it out

Timstone other day you said that opening bank is almost imposible for gambling money, for bov and hsbc at least. I hear lombardi bank as something known has postapay? Do you have any info as it is easy or not opening account with them? I mean even for poker players isnt it necessary to have an account for every day expenses, on particular thos debit direct bills like rent, internet etc? How you do that?

Pokerplayers usually do everything in cash/skrill/neteller. There is absolutely no need to ever own a maltese account.

I was in Malta several years and there wasnt a single instance where i needed banking.

Overall EU is getting tougher on Malta so going forward it's going to be harder and harder to open accounts.
One maltese bank busted a year or 2 ago and tons of people particularily gaming industry lost all funds held w them.

Current economic situation i'd want as little money as possible in euro and with a EU bank anyways but this is a story for another day

Im already living in malta

Just wanted to ask anyone else being a poker player or bettor here, asked for the residence card? (im eu citizen) And if so did you ask it as a self sufficient? Is the residence card strictly necessary if you intend to say for long? My rental contract is for at least 1year

Thanks!!

I'll be leaving Malta very soon, so I would like to sell some of my stuff. I live in St. Julians, near the love monument.

Stand up desk, automatically adjustable (condition almost new)
Two chairs (few years old)
Two monitors

I'll throw in some other random stuff for free, like a microwave, kitchen equipment etc.

PM me please

Finos sold millers back in the day but there are quite some stores for medium range as well. Atrium is good for cheap ones. Should be able to find stores via google as well

Thanks, will check it out . Just difficult to find a good one in the medium range, always when it’s with leather imitation it gets ruined after a few month.
Gonna have to do some research on the ones available I guess...

Just ask here if someone is in any of the major groups and could put you in. I did that for Thailand and it worked perfectly

Hi !

I've lived in Malta for about 7 months and I'm finally starting to think about the tax situation and the residency card;

I'm kinda lost though, because many people tell me: nobody cares about taxing poker incomes. and nobody cares if you don't have the maltese residency card.

So i know many players who have lived here for years and haven't :
- opened a maltese bank acc
- got their maltese residency cads
- pay any taxes ...

So basically, what is the right procedure? what do we risk if we don't do any of these tasks?

What's your currency of choice? I'm leaning towards GBP. Europe is in bad shape in general but the US is heading towards hyperinflation as well. Everything feels like being stuck between a rock and a hard place these days.

I'm also very interested in these questions, I recently started to look into moving to Malta due to poker tax reasons. I've always heard and even read articles that you don't need to tax on poker winnings if living in Malta.

But when I started researching on how to become a resident of Malta and reading into their tax laws it seems you in fact do have to pay taxes, I contacted a lawyer who informed me that income from games which are played online from Malta is considered as income arising in Malta and hence taxed in Malta. And according to them it's taxable from 15-35% depending on your income.

Is there a way to go around it or how do people deal with the situation?

New Poker House Starting in MALTA - I am looking for interested applicants able to move in AUGUST.

Hi guys, I am starting a Poker House in Malta. I am looking for driven, committed individuals who are looking to bring forward their best selves as both poker players and as people.
You don’t have to be a super crusher, but you do need to have a solid work ethic. The idea here is to create an environment in which we bounce off each other and propel each other into poker greatness. Currently there is myself + one person (My coach, Polish, 28). I am looking for ideally two more housemates.

A little about myself. I am 28 and from the UK. I have been in and out of poker for a long time but I have been playing poker as my primary income for a little over a year now. I am currently playing Midstakes MTT’s online. I have travelled and lived all around the world and I have decided to move to Malta further my poker career and have fun whilst I am doing it

REQUIREMENTS:
- Poker as your primary income. MTT professionals preferred but not essential.

Committed individuals with a good work ethic.

Clean / Tidy. Will be looking at hiring a maid or cleaner but general maintenance will still be required.

A willingness to learn and grow as part of a team.

I'm looking to have a good time and facilitate new experiences but if you think you will want to be out partying most days of the week this probably won’t be the house for you.

Rent: I would approximate 500-800 Euro P/M + 1 month Deposit. This will be confirmed later once a property has been decided on.

If interested add me on discord or whatsapp and we can go from there. I am intending to get everything moved in before WCOOP starts in September.

I am going to be in Malta this week coming so if you are already there we can grab a coffee / beer and if not we can speak online.

Discord: el_rio#0154
Whatsapp: +447519217670
