Now thats the good thing about my place, it takes like 10 minutes to clean if you want to. And i dont like the idea of letting strangers to my apartment when there are valuable items and money inside.
Shame that i missed the boat ride, looks like fun times

Im obv a degen too but mostly only on weekends so i wanna have my fair share of sleep as well. Obv i dont wanna live in the woods like gozo. But are there any more laid back areas too? Whats with Valetta?

regards
yeah lauri is right - valletta is pretty much dead and boring during the night. Ideally you wanna be in Sliema / St Julians. i can help you out in finding accomodation so whenever you want, just drop me an email on mabar@dhalia.com and ill help you out. you'll be in good hands, dont worry

in malta anythin above 6 months will be considered to be a long let. of course if you want to rent an apartment for 1 month its possible and if you want to rent an apartment for 3 months its also possible. the only difference is that the shorter the let will be, the more you have to pay and prices can get quite high since its a holiday let espescially during the summer season. whenever you decide to come down to malta, just drop me a line and we'll keep in touch.i will help you find accomodation.

cheers

Any of you play golf?

Looks like there is only one golf course in malta and it's private, anyone knows how much it costs?

only have one golf club here in malta. Regarding prices i suggest you have a look at their site on www.royalmaltagolfclub.com

its not private, its open to anyone - you just have to be a member

Thanks matt.

I'm looking at prices for plane tickets on expedia.ca...

Can someone explain why 2-way tickets (getting there and coming back like 2 weeks later) all cost LESS than one-way? Makes no sense to me

we arrived in malta 3 days ago!
we will stay for atleast 6 month, were staying at st pauls bay in a house, so we need a car.

we are looking to buy/rent a car but we cant find no fair offers for rent (200-300€ per month).
buying would cost 3,5k-4k but we will have trouble selling it.

all we need is a car to get from a to b and it has to have air condition.

anyone bought or long term rented a car here and could give us a hint?

oh and anyone ever went to sicily by catamaran?

a) Are there any decent places to hike or is it so small and crowded that it's not really feasible?
b) How easy/expensive is it to ferry over to Sicily or elsewhere?
c) What are the renting requirements? Like if you are a poker pro you have to pay x months in advance / provide references / guarantors / smth?
d) How many people speak English?
e) Any experience in importing a car from the UK into Malta?

d) evrybody

a) not really feasible.
b) not sure about the price but I'm sure it's not that bad. I would assume there are ferries to Sicily pretty often.

b) It will cost you around 60 euro IIRC...

I read in this thread that it's quite easy to get a job with a gambling company if you speak another language fluently (Dutch for me). Does anyonye have an idea what you'd make at the sort of customer service type job you'd probably get?

Well in your case you need to look for English support, cuz i guess most of them have a country manager representing your country. So go to www.pentasia.com and start your search there, usually they pay from 1k up to 1.6k in the support field. Except Expekt, they pay ****.

Good luck

Sup guise. I am moving out of my old apartment today, staying with some friends for a month or so before looking for something else.

I have decided that instead of getting a huge place with several balconies for €1k+ like I have done up until now I'd rather want a smaller but modernized and newly refurbished apartment at a much lower price.

I have decided to try to not spend that much money and try to build my roll instead for a while. I mean there's no real reason to have a lot of space really. When you're home it's because you're on the computer grinding, drinking before going out or ****ing which usually occurs in the bedroom anyways.

I haven't decided if I'm gonna get a roommate or not yet, but if anyone out there is looking for one let me know. Right now I'm leaning slightly towards getting something of my own but I'll figure out more the coming month.

Peace out!

Thanks a lot for the offer, and I would take you up on it if I hadn't already moved all my stuff to another friend. It's frikin packed here right now but it's ok for a short while.

By the way, don't know if it's too much to ask but I have a friend from the UK who's coming here around the 23'd, staying for 5 days or something, and he hasn't got a place to stay yet. Originally he was going to stay at my old apartment but that didn't really work out well.

Do you think he could he could borrow a room at your place for some money? Probably wont be staying inside much either way, he's a cool guy I met here on 2+2. We went to Prague last year without even having met before. You should search for "prague TR", wrote an epic TR about it in BBV4L. :P
