There are a lot of internet cafes on Samui that are super reliable and would let you leave a large monitor there. We used one on MaeNam next to U2 food place and never got disconnected once in at least 50hrs of playing. It was sweet using it as an office so forgetting about poker as soon as you sat on the scooter.

There's also a very high end one near the fishman's village which is a huge semi outdoor one with luxury coffees and awesome fish ponds which is the most relaxing place ever.

Playing online poker openly like that doesn't seem very smart though. Even if the risk is low, there's still a risk.

I got one cable internet, one WiFi and one 3G as backup. I rarely get disconnected, but the ping time is bad. I don't know if the ping time is better anywhere else in Thailand though (I had the same in Chiang Mai).

I guess that's a fine solution if you don't mind paying 10,000 baht per month for internet access, but personally I wouldn't go that way.

This is a great first stop if you are serious about relocating, you will immediately have a community of grinders who have been here for you and will help with showing you the ropes and answer any questions you will have and there is a lot to know when you move to a foreign country.

To the dudes that are staying in Thailand, do you guys have to do visa runs once every month?

I have a student visa. Price in general is the same as if you go to visarun every 30 days. Paid ~45k for 15months. (15k was to change from stamp to visa within thailand. Again its kinda equal to going to KL and apply for a visa there).
Also it should be mentioned that in some places (bkk, ptt) they launched minitests for people who prolong their visas. Heard about one guy in ptt who coundnt say anything in thai so his visa was insta canceled and he was forced to leave Thailand.
