Living in a rental car for a month in Ireland Living in a rental car for a month in Ireland

I have a month in Ireland during mid February to mid March.
I’m considering renting a car and driving solo around the island stopping at various places and towns along the way.
I’m also considering sleeping in the car most nights and saving on hotel costs and hassles.

I’m just a little concerned/ curious of the following...

Temperature: it’s winter during this period and the car may be super cold
Parking location: where does one generally park the car to sleep?
Safety: Is this a concern outside of Dublin?
Legality: Could I get into trouble for sleeping in the car?

Any other help and suggestions is welcome!

Partner your body temperature might fall to a dangerous level while you are asleep. This happend to old lady in my former apartment building she could not afford heat and she ended up dead.

Cool idea, Ireland is a sweet roadtrip.

Temperature: I spent a night in the car on a roadtrip in Scotland in January, it was much colder than you'd expect, planned to do it a couple of nights and one was enough. A month in the car could quickly turn into hell.

Location: Eh this youll just have to wing it in a car park or area at the side of the road.

Safety: Should be very safe all over.

Legality: If a Police car shows up theyll tell you to move on, thats just if ive been hanging in the car with a girl or something(brag), if youre camped out with a sleeping bag etc they might be more curious as to what youre up to.

tbh checking for couchsurfing etc will probs be better, what you plan to do about shower/midnight poop etc?

Something to consider: if you are over the alcohol limit for driving, and sleeping in a car, with the car keys, you will almost definitely be charged with being Drunk in Charge of a Motor Vehicle if that police car does show up.

If you don't drink the black stuff, (but then why else would you be in Ireland?), you're probably ok as long as you park in non-suspicious places. Bejabbers, if you ask a farmer if you can park in his field, he'll probably let you; and also cook you supper.

Bring or buy a small fishing rod and a few hooks and stuff, and you'll always get away with camping next to a river or lake.
