Had it about 6 years. When you first get it outbreaks can last anywhere from 5-10 days depending on your lifestyle at that time, the more tired/rundown you are the longer it will last and severe it might be. The thing is if you take the meds it prolly only knocks 2 days off the outbreak anyway. So my advice to anyone who gets it is to just man up and take the first few outbreaks and let your body learn to deal with it.

I dont have sex with an outbreak because it is painful and dont want to spread it.

When i first got it no one told me you could just let the outbreak pass on it's own and as its easy to buy meds in Thailand i was self medicating. If i knew then what i know now i would never of taken any meds ever.
