its not that hot here, 70's today

and they do this in the US to, no matter what time of year or weather they always start early, its more that they just dont even have the thought of waking people up cross their mind

the worst was when my 10 story apt building in vegas replaced all of the carpet in the hallways, for over a month (no clue how it took that long) every day i was woken up at 8am to constant hammering, really cant believe i didnt snap at that point

uhhh potslammer, not sure what to say

u kno no **** right?

no clue whats up with my laptop or the wifi here but really screws over my nightly entertainment options

how can i stop playing at 11, go to bed at 4, and not get a hooker if i cant watch any tv or movies online?

on my wifi list there is an option called Y5net, i tried it when i first got here but they ask you to pay so i didnt, talked to a guy at my hotel today and he said he got it and thats its $10 a month for unlimited and is fast enough to watch movies with so might be a good option

why do people feel the need to drill holes in walls and hammer at 9am in a hotel that is for people relaxing on vacation that want to sleep in

they are hanging pictures in the rooms, they had 2 left to do today, so obv they do them early in the morning and not in the afternoon, this stuff tilts me like no other, a few days they started at 7:45am and stopped at noon, do they really not realize they are waking everyone up?

i am a very laid back dont care about much person, but this really really really pisses me off, if i ever kill someone theres a 99% chance it will b

/endrant
Dante you have to realize that the world doesnt revolve around you. Have i ever occur to you that 7:45AM might be the start of a work day for them? Would you rather have them banging at midnight? Also they arent going to try and please you and piss of the rest of their customers who have a normal schedule like the rest of the world. You also mentioned that some construction is going on so you should be aware its temporary. You could give them a simple request not to begin work until noon. It has been mentioned here many times and going to mention it again that posting pics of some of the things you talk about would make this thread even better. Picturesare worth a thousand words. I am sure you can afford to spend $50 for a camera...

how many people on vacation in a beach town do you think wanted to be woken up by hammering at 745 am? this isnt "the rest of the world" its a bunch of lazy people that have been out drinking late the night before

i have requested 3 times that they not do this stuff early, every time i get told "ok no problem today was the last day anyways" and then.........

i know that if i was just a day to day guest here like most are and i got woken up at 8, 9, or even 10 am by hammering and drilling i would be finding another place to stay the next day, just not good business

i can stay here next month for $280, was $250 this month the owner had told me rent would go up now that rainy season is ending and tourists are gonna start coming, $30 isnt a big deal at all

i LOVE the location, all the good restaurants are so close

there really is only one thing holding me back from committing, and that is that they dont have ASN so i cant watch football

going to tell the owner tomorrow that i will pay for some or all of what it would cost to change cable companies again to one that has ASN

I can understand where you are coming from but its a hotel.People generally in a hotel are not up at 7 or 8 to go to work .They are on holiday so are relaxing whatever, they dont get up till 10,11,12 or even 1.The hotel is getting paid good money to give these people a place to stay and relax while on holidays not to wake them up every morning.
No im sure he wouldnt want them to do it at midnight, maybe in the afternoon at 2 or 3 when people are prob not in the hotel and are off enjoying themselves.
He has every right to complain.

oishi has had like 15 different names over the past 6 months, cant believe he hasnt been IP banned yet

kaizen i dont get gamepass cuz im broke as a joke, plus i like to watch while playing and cant do that on a laptop, i have an HDMI cable but A) dont want to buy monitor here since i dont plan on staying here forever and B) none of the monitors ive seen in comp shops even have HDMI

told the owner today that if he would change cable companies to one that had ASN i would pay for the installation fees (he said would be $20ish) he said he would consider it if i could find a company that had it (paging wabbie, sending email cuz this is of utmost importance obv)

past 2 days cute hotel chick kept telling me how hungry she was trying to get me to buy her food...... had she not been a liar and trying to deceive people out of money i would have gladly bought her some $1 pad thai or maybe even splurged on $2 pizza, but no way now

so today she was kinda b1tchy, ok not really b1tchy but for her it was b1tchy

also i told you guys how the other guy here bought her the dog from her friend, well when talking to the friend today she told me that the guy hasnt paid her yet, its been 6 weeks, he isnt going to

ive always thought the guy was a bit like that ever since i saw him and EZ smoke a J and when EZ would pass it to him he would take like 4 or 5 puffs on it before passing it back, and it wasnt his bananas

he also has justin beiber on his ipad, and yesterday i walked past the bar and he had ipad with speakers out and was listening to TLC waterfalls (by himself not with the girls at the bar, over at a table) i sarcastically (obv) said nice song and he said ya one of his favs

walking home from the gym today water buffalo was all the way up on the road, i got to within 5 feet of him, was a bit scary, i didnt talk any ish this time we actually became kind of friends and i told him i was sorry for all the mean things i had said about his mother and that i made them up and didnt really think she was like that

shack girl just texts me asking if i wanna hang out tonight (AKA do our old deal)

i told her i was busy, not sure i should ever see her again, but if so its not gonna be for at least a few more weeks

one of the few american shows i can find on during my playing time over here is law and order SVU, never watched it when i was in the states, i see why now as these storylines are so ridiculously over the top

only good show i ever see on is locked up abroad but its a lil scarier watching it while abroad

went to a moneychanger yesterday he said the exchange rate was 4035 per dollar (standard when you spend is 4,000 riel = $1) so i only would be getting 87 cents per $100 cashed, thats the worst rate ive been told yet so i didnt do it

go back to same guy today and he says its lower now only 3825, but he will give me yesterdays rate, i say ok as i dont know of any other moneychangers on this road

he counts out twenty 20,000 riel notes ($5 a piece) then throws out another one and a 5,000 riel note....... he gave me $6 instead of 87 cents

and it wasnt a mistake of counting the bills wrong as he clearly counted out the twenty first, and then again recounted with the extras in before handing to me

im not complaining

There gotta be other **** to do out there besides roaming the beach and banging prostitutes. Grab a mountain bike and start cruising around or some ****. Learn how to ride a moped if you don't already know. I watched a vid of some dudes riding on the outskirts of Snooky and the roads looked like they would be fun to explore. They were the only ones on the road it seemed.

Edit: Another Idea, grab a camera and start taking pictures of ****.

+1
I've been living here for 8 months now. First few months were one big party but now, whenever I'm struggling with poker or bored I just drive around town and around on my motorbike. Try Ream National Park or the Kbal Chayy waterfalls (get there before the rainy season ends) for something else than the usual nightlife on the beach.

ya i keep telling myself im gonna rent a bike and go for a ride at some point, but im pretty lazy

from what ive heard though it may not be the wisest to go riding on the outskirts of town by yourself at night

K2d -

Since you've been there for a while now and you've had some drama, I'm curious whether you're still happy and to what degree.

Are you starting to get bored?
Tough to make friends?
Looking to move on?

Just curious as I've considered emigrating to SEA in the past myself but was worried I'd get lonely and bored after awhile.
