Its a lot harder to do this when you are under time pressure of 8 hours. Especially so when games aren't necessarily 24/7 and will regularly stop from 6am to 12pm (ish). Good hotel rooms can be found in PP for $20 a night and think this is probably a better option now for the flexibility.
I've arrived at the same conclusion if I ever return to PP (I actually enjoyed the place, irrespective of my results).

Yes, have considered a USA trip, which I've done a few times before (a while ago now). I'm based in Melbourne, where I grew up. There's a poker room 15 mins away but the rake is 10% with a $25 cap for a 2/5 game. I haven't played cash in Melbourne since the cap was raised from $15 to $25 in late 2023, so can't tell you whether one can make above minimum wage, but remain sceptical. Given my location, Asia is a better option than the USA, particularly as the accommodation is more affordable, not to the mention the airfare. As much as I enjoyed the games in Manila, I'd prefer to play in Melbourne or the USA.
