i tried to read up as much as possible and in as many places as possible for 8 months before i moved over here, this whole "SURPRISE, the girl youve spent the most time with and are currently somewhat involved with works with the police" scenario wasnt something that ever came up anywhere

2. Im not up-to-date on the visa situation to Thailand. A decade ago you could only get the 3 months visa if you flew in from a non-neighbouring country. Cambodia could give you a max of 1 month visa. Anyway, Anna is the place to go. They will know everything about it. It will take maybe 3-4 days to get the visa.

Wabby is correct you are way overthinking this one. I would say there is a good chance she made the whole thing up and is only saying she has police connections to make you more likely to pay her money when she asks.

What you said about shack girl being able to set you up will be true of nearly anyone you meet. But it won't happen because 1) there's no profit in it 2) it's risky for the person setting you up (being an american w the power of the us embassy/consulate backing you up is very powerful) and 3) most people--scammers included--do not have malicious intent. mixgame i dont see how you say there is no profit in it, its very common in the philippines for freelancers to call cops and tell them where they are at with a guy, then cop comes by and asks for lots of money to keep the guy out of jail, they also can plant drugs or claim rape or invite and underage friend over cuz she just needs to shower real quick and then when she gets naked in the shower theres a knock on the door.....

cops make like $40 a month salary, so if they can get even $300 out of a guy and give the girl $50 for doing it they just had a huge day

and it likely never even goes to the US embassy or consulate because the guy is just gonna give in 99% of the time to avoid the hassle and potential of life threatening consequences
