Can someone please advise me of what online poker sites are still accessible in Cambodia ? I heard that GG has been blocked ? Is it still possible to play on pokerstars ?

Hi, yes GG poker stopped operating in October. But PokerStars is not going anywhere. With the new RakeBack system its much easier to put all of your volume there. You still have sites like 888 and many others to play a few games on the side. Feel free to pm me if you have more questions.

With tourist visa you can stay 30 days and renew 1 time for another 30 days as far as I know.
Tourist visas can be converted to long term business visas after you arrive. Just announced a few days ago.

Can still play on GG through various skins, the main one being Natural 8 I think.

Are you sure about that? I played on GG for the last 2 years here and they closed my account last month. So I can just make new on natural 8 ?

I can't say for those who had past accounts, but I imagine you could. One of my staffers plays on it daily while he's supposed to be doing work for me

The tourist visa can be converted into a long term business visa after you arrive. As usual, just takes money.

I've tried to book an Airbnb in Cambodia a couple of times now, but each time the host denied my request. One of them said that they expect measures to be taken by the local authorities regarding short-term stays (due to the pandemic). Does anyone have more info on this?

This is no longer the case by the way. Only tourist visa for 1 month that can be renewed for 1 more.

Might just be people freaking out about foreigners bringing in omicron, especially if the owners are locals.

About two weeks ago I was denied check-in at two different hotels after I booked via agoda. They had weird non-sense excuses/lies. At first I didn't understand why they don't want my money. It seems the fear of omicron is the reason.

Btw, yo Triad, you've been so quite lately. We need more booty pics and stories, hehe.

had this happen a lot in china where hotels/airbnbs saw i was a foreigner and panicked that i was infected and/or there illegally in which accepting me as a guest would be a terrible ordeal for them

the hotels got streamlined enough where the booking sites started offering a filter for hotels that would accept a foreigner but even with this i still had issues and got rejected a few times

last time i booked i was at hotel #3 that was supposedly foreigner friendly and got so fed up i called the cops and waited in the lobby for an hour as they mediated and said i could stay there no problem and the manager finally relented

things like airbnbs were basically a non starter because those were private individuals so i'd suggest narrowing search to hotels/hostels that cater to foreigners specifically

Yeah in China that's totally what is happening, not sure about Cambodia, but I've never tried to book an airbnb there. If interested I could provide you with various hotel recommendations Mr. Sheep, particularly for PP, just PM me, but PT is obv abs the authoritative source for all of Cambo

If anyone needs a room booked let me know. But it'll cost you a couple of round of drinks for me +1 Living in Cambodia and turning Pro

Appreciate the input, guys. I guess I'll settle for a ho(s)tel then, at least for the first couple of days.

What I like about Airbnbs though is that most of them have a kitchen where you can cook your own meals. This feature can make life a lot less stressful and tiresome for someone with dietary restrictions. And it saves money, too.

I'd be happy to buy you a drink regardless if I'll end up needing your help or not.

Just curious what dietary restrictions do you have?

Welp, it took four attempts but I've managed to book an Airbnb.

Vegan. So it won't be easy to avoid prawns, milk powder, fish oil etc. since that stuff gets thrown on lots of dishes (or so I've read). But I'll manage somehow.

in all seriousness most vegans i know just gave up while in asia, too many random minute ingredients in everything that it just makes everything miserable and you ruin every dinner because all food is ordered family style and now everyone needs to restrict the menu by 90% ie nobody can even order the vegetable dishes because they all have trace amounts of oyster sauce etc

i would just try to avoid obvious things but not ask too many questions about what sauces are in the noodles you eat for your own sanity
