Lol its been upgraded. Upgraded the enitre apartment and now live quite baller.

Bunch of guys still going out often, we were out at one place the other night where all the girls are between 18 - 21 yrs old...only mamasans are above 21

First order i buy myself a corona and 3 shots of jack, put 6000 riel ($1.50) under each shot and tell the girls whoever drinks the shot gets the money underneath, one girl snaps all 3 then all the girls start begging us for more shots...so we obviously buy more and before long its a total slut fest, wont go into too much details but we will def return to this place.

Unfortunately that didnt last for too long and the girls started to get pretty damn drunk...one hoe couldnt even walk to the bar to order more without falling over, another one kept spilling our drinks on the floor so we decided to get the bill and gtfo...the mamasan realized why we wanted to go and she looked pissed off af, she storms over to the girl im sitting with (the most drunk one) and scolds her in front of everyone...whole place goes silent and everyones looking, just as i think the scolding is over she opens here hand and bitchslaps this hoe real hard. Lol i couldnt believe it, wish i had taped it on stealthcam...anyway the girl starts crying and none of us could be assed hanging around anymore so we gtfo

Bunch of us still going out, meaning winning poker players. It seems like unless you're that or Chinese, everyone else is running out of money. When we go out we pretty much rule the night as each bar desperately needs the business. Big Bananas got a new condo and I got a new suite at Secrets Bar as an "office" away from home; props to the owner for the hook up. Life pretty sweet for us right now with nothing to complain about.

Not scared the impoverished masses might target you or do you feel big gov has everything under control and you as a light skinned asian foreigner aren't a prime target? (in Angeles City in the Philippines Koreans generally don't live long)

If I want to live until 90 years old, going to Best Buy every weekend and watch reruns of Its Always Sunny I'll go back home to the States. I know full well the risks of living here and the lifestyle I lead. I have money and am not a victim of circumstance. Whatever happens to me is the result of my own choices and I'm perfectly content with that.

I totally understand what you're on to and the US isn't all that safe these days either - I was just curious about your general assessment of the current security situation from your POV.

I'm currently drinking with some friends. I'll give a full run down when I get home.

The police go around flexing their muscle every once in a while. There are more traffic stop points these days and my Grab taxi today got pulled over today. Usually all they have to do is to inform the police that they are a taxi but that didn't work this time and they shook him down anyway. Every once in a while they'll also go around the bars threatening to close them down. But in every one of these instances they're just looking for a bribe and nothing comes of it as long as they get paid. Other than that there are no real threats and I still feel generally safe as long as I practice common sense.

I probably will die younger here but we all sort of knew that when we came over. But such will be due to my own lifestyle and nothing because of outside forces like the government. No one is being targeted here and the government has actually done a fairly good job during this pandemic. Covid just has not been a thing here and most of the limited number of cases have been imported from people coming elsewhere. Now that Naga is back open other businesses that were previously closed such as cinemas and KTVs are slowly coming back as well. This whole period has been a boom for my friends and I as online poker has greatly benefited by people all over the world staying home.

I mentioned that I have a suite over at Secrets and I'll include a video tour below. Due to this we hang out there quite a bit as it is open later than most bars and also much nicer and cleaner. Most days/nights are the same as I'll either grab a really nice meal for lunch or dinner. We found a couple of really nice steak places recently and while it's still not on par with establishments in the States, it's still really good and the price isn't too bad. I'll play a little bit of live poker after lunch and after dinner I'll hit the online tables on one of my clubs. I'll spend as much time as I can with the wife and kids and then usually hit the bars with friends once everyone is asleep. Like I said, can't complain about much right now.

Doxxing is not allowed, posting things like someone's full name/phone number/passport will get you in trouble. Exceptions have been made, but not for an unkown with 4 posts . Sorry you got scammed, but you will have to talk about this without divulging his personal info publicly.

My friends and I have discovered some truly great restaurants lately. I thought I had the best steak in town a few weeks ago but just tried a restaurant that blows that one away. Two nights ago I tried the Kampot Pepper Steak at a French restaurant called Armand's Bistro and it was the first steak I've had here that reminded me of back home in the States. It was lean and tender without an ounce of grizzle so I'm tempted to say it was a filet. But seeing as how it was only $29 for 200g it was probably a well butchered sirloin or even maybe a rump cut. I went there with a good friend who had initially recommended it to me and a new lady friend that I made. The bill for the three of us came out to $169 and although I didn't ask my friend paid for the entire tab. I'm sure he knows I'll get the next one, or the one after that, or whatever; we don't really worry about it. Then tonight we wanted to try a new sushi place so checked out a place called Adachi. I don't know where they get their fish, but it sure tastes like it has never seen the inside of a freezer. This place wasn't cheap but well worth it and easily the best sushi I've had in Cambodia. Once again, I dare say it might even compare to what I've had in the States. We drank tons of sake during the meal but I didn't go out tonight as I truly needed a break. I had been out for 14 straight nights and my friends know that I usually only drink whiskey so it's not as if I take it easy when I go out. I'm not really playing live anymore as I just wanted to grind at home and see the family during the day as I go out so much in the evenings. My new girl kept texting me photos all night of $1 local food she was eating so I promised her I take her somewhere nice tomorrow. We'll probably go for a meal and then head to Secrets as I told the owner I would re-up my suite for another month.

The poker room at Nagaworld is back open and they're even running tournaments again. They had 22 entries yesterday and paid out $1,800 to 1st place so it looks as it they are getting back into the swing of things. So Phnom Penh is back to having 3 poker rooms, something that still amazes me. As previously mentioned I'm not playing live anymore, being perfectly content to grind online and goofing off with my kids every time I take a break. The people at the Triple Seven are great, many of whom used to work for me. The game is great as well but so are the games online and it's nice to not have a dog in the fight. I still think in the end it'll be two rooms left standing. I read some article the other day about the government lowering the price of testing for visitors so perhaps they're moving closer to opening without restrictions. Things have always been normal here but perhaps we're getting closer to that point where some of you can actually visit what has undoubtedly been the greatest place on earth during this pandemic.

cambodia looking pretty good if they remove the 3k deposit to travel there i will be giving spending a few months over there some serious thought

live poker scene sounds decent, do they have any plo8 or mixed games running anywhere or is it strictly nlh / plo ?

I don't understand why the $3k deposit is such a huge issue for people. You get that back after two weeks (provided no one on the plan has covid and minus the cost for two tests).

What is more worrisome (to me) is actually acquiring a visa as they have still suspended tourist visa and you have to apply for one now beforehand. Hard to justify being a poker player, isn't it? Poker_triad, do you by chance have info on that? I'm giddy to get back to Cambodia.

PLO8 isn't played from what I've seen, but you can/could (?) get dealer's choice games (very friendly for low stakes) running if you know the scene.

The deposit is down to $2K and by all accounts most have gotten it back. The visa thing is a bit of a hurdle and I've talked to at least one poker room that was thinking of having one of their shareholders sponsor players to come out. As nothing has come of it yet perhaps I should just start talking to some business owners myself and try to arrange something. I'll keep everyone posted. PLO8 only runs on the odd occasion when an Omaha game is about to break and we do it for the last hour just for sh*ts and giggles. You can probably choose it at the Red Fox dealer's choice game but I don't think it's a popular choice in the rotation.

Damn, that'd be nuts! I'd pay a couple hundred for that service, let me know.

Ok cheers for the info, 3k deposit is an issue as would imagine there is a decent chance of losing it.

I am under the impression that if anyone on the fight gets a positive test and they take everyones money if thats the case ill wait it out.

Not overly keen sitting on a plane for 15 hours wearing a mask, knowing it could cost an extra 2k still enough to put me off but as we get closer into winter maybe it wont seem so unappealing by then !

My buddy flew from the states to Thailand and said definitely bring about 4 mask reloads for the flight as putting on a fresh made every few hours makes a difference.

By all accounts almost no one has lost the deposit. Those who test negative get it back, minus the cost of expenses for the test, quarantine, etc. I can't speak regarding those that have tested positive.
