After learning the full details of Renton's removal as General Manager of original Riverking, I have to agree that the past tense is appropriate in describing whatever chance they had at survival. He did everything he could to slowly bring the room back from a losing month to what will most certainly be a profitable one this month. He was already leaving though as he had given notice, but was removed early even after both sides agreed he would stay on until the beginning of the new month. I want everyone to know how much Renton did on behalf of the players to keep everything in the room properly balanced. After all that's the crux of a poker room manager's job, to run a profitable business without taxing the players too much. Ultimately it was resistance to such efforts that won out and led to his demise. No matter who wins out, and it's looking more like it will be RK1, Riverking as I know it is dead.
