One of the big Omaha players wanted a $10-$20 game so I spent the better part of the morning trying to organize the players by 2:00 PM. It started out slow with only three players, but eventually got going and filled up to eight players at one point. Sometimes I wonder to myself, " where the Fu*k am I?" I live in a third world country where it's impressive enough that there are those who can play $1-$3, but then I look over and there are eight people playing a game with a minimum buy in of $5,000. The whales don't mind playing the grinders, no matter how obvious they make it that they're bum hunting, so I even encouraged some friends to pool their money together to get into the game. I was glad to see that one such friend won $7,000 and managed to keep a healthy portion of the winnings.

After work I was originally going to play the Red Fox tournament, but a friend wanted to grab dinner so we ended up getting some sushi instead. I was impressed to see they had three tables on a night where we also had four games running at one point. Sushi was good as usual as we went to the Sushi Bar. But of course we over ordered as usual. Afterwards I met up with some of the Omaha players to go to a KTV. I'm the second oldest amongst the Koreans so the bill is usually covered by the oldest one. But as I have never paid I decided that I was long overdue to cover one bill. Luckily I picked a night in which it only came out to $500. That plus a $20 tip, $25 to my girl and $25 more after a guy picked a girl but left early without tipping her.

Then we went to a Korean restaurant owned by a friend of the poker room, ate some food and drank some more. As it was still early we ended up at Epic Club where our friends ordered $300 worth of whiskey, took one sip and paid before declaring that the club was no good. Then we went down the street to his own club Muse where we finished up the night.

I'm home now at 4:00 AM but I have to open the room at 11:00 AM. I don't get hung over, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sick tomorrow in one way or another.

Yeah, Saigon is pretty much the same scene, replace tuktuks for regular motoscooters. Totally standard in third world countries, if you look at the governments, it should be no surprise

Just arrived in Sihanoukville and checked into Bao Mai, where the poker room will be built out. The property is quite nice and will get better with the planned renovation. Need to grab some food and rent a bike. Hope to meet with some dealers then hit the tables. Give a holler if anyone here.

So hopefully with the new Riverking coming into town the NHL will be much better? That’s just wishful thinking but with a more serious question towards you and Yazzx, how is the new Container Night Market? I’ve seen vids that it’s floruishing quite well and the girls are gorgeous, obv not freelancers but they’re pretty as hell and since I’m 21 and not too into mongering, the girls seem far more enticing. Are local girls harder to court? Keep up the lifestyle Triad

I don't want to sound too cynical, but local girls are easy to court because every foreign man that shows interest is an opportunity for her to better her life. I'm not saying love isn't possible under these circumstances, but it's just a different path to get there.

And so it begins. We'll begin the build out of the new poker room inside the Bao Mai casino next week and we've already hired about 30% of the staff so we should be ready to go by March 1st. I'll spend the first 2-3 months here in Sihanoukville running the show, while helping to run the Phnom Penh room remotely. You can see from the photos that there is still a lot of work to do. We're not using these tables as we're having custom ones made right now and the carpet needs to be cleaned with new lights, etc. Flying to Siem Reap in two hours but just wanted to give everyone a quick update.

Does the 1/2plo game have a $5 bring in and can you run it twice in both 1/2 and 5/5?

The thinking right now is that we will start a $1-$2 hold'em game during the day and then $2-$5 in the late afternoon or early and evening and to eventually introduce Omaha. Of course these things are easier said then done as the clientele will largely determine what games run. In terms of clientele it should start off well as our partners are telling us they'll kick things off with a huge party with a group of 200 Chinese that they are bringing in.

There is no bring in as it is just $2 to call. We allow running it up to two times in all games, including allowing players to run it twice for side pot.

Things operate a bit differently in Sihanoukville as prices on everything have gone up with the influx of the Chinese population. The last time I stayed at Bao Mai it was $75 and they managed to get me a discount to $60. I'm trying to work out that same price as a poker room rate. If not I'll have to look for a nearby guesthouse to work something out with.

What kind of money are dealers making in tips per shift. Are people pretty much tipping a buck or 2 per hand won or are they not tipping at all?

It really depends on the room. If you've ever played in America I would say Riverking is close to something like that, whereas in places like Naga players don't tip at all. Some like to say that tipping is done dependent upon whether the players come from a tipping country but I don't think that's it at all. If players have knowledge that the dealers do not keep all, it at least the majority, of their tips then they won't. Whereas those exact same players will if they know the dealers are keeping it. I find myself doing this all the time.

Took the "red eye" of sorts down to Sihanoukville last night and arrived at 3:00 AM this morning. I was supposed to come earlier but the Riverking in Phnom Penh got much too busy and they needed a second manager on the floor. I arrived in town just in time to find out they are closing the WM poker room down, which I half suspected. I managed to get a good deal of their staff as I hired their two best dealers and a floor who speaks both English and Chinese. I've had a chance to hang out with a few of them already and they are really fun and will make great additions to our family. I always love the beginning stages of any project and this one has me going more than most. March 2nd can't get here fast enough.

Anyone hear about the foreigners who got arrested for “pornographic pictures” in Siem Reap? I had to just bust out laughing when you think about all the things we see in the forum, including prostitution being legal in Cambodia, and all of a sudden there’s an “ethics” police arresting backpackers for grinding on eachother haha. Btw no local Khmer were even involved in the party or photos, truly strange.

I'm shocked they're still locked up over something so stupid. IMO they were probably given the chance to pay small fines for it to be forgotten about on the spot but probably refused believing they did nothing wrong and now it's mainstream news so is too late, pretty stupid... should just have paid and be done with it.

Fine was $200 apparently

my clients have told me that officer were even asking for money during the arrests.

‘They were telling them they could go free if they handed over 2000 Cambodian Riel (35p) - it’s ridiculous.’

Guarantee they probably spent more on the lawyer than it would’ve cost for the initial bribe.. Article also says they’ll have to wait a month in prison before they can be released on bail.. almost feel bad for the kids

What is even more ******ed is not paying the fine and going to a Cambodian jail. It was just $200, it wasn't like it was $20,000.

Some guys will do anything for free sex
