funny hand, there was a really bad cambodian fish who had something like 80% VPIP and 100% WTSD once he'd call preflop (like, he would literally never fold ever once he put money in the pot. i got 3 streets of value from him with 66 on 772x2r). i ended up getting into a preflop war with the finnish guy in a few hands over the fish where it would go, he'd raise, fish would call, i would 3bet to get HU with the fish, he 4bets, fish calls. after maybe his 2nd reraise vs me where i folded i give him kind of a dirty look and he shows me aces after it folds around. another hand maybe one orbit later fish limps, i raise AJo, scandi 3bets from blinds, fish calls, i 4bet, scandi ships 600$ or so, fish calls, i fold...scandis Q9s gets him felted vs QJ...

The Human Capital Project is a very sound and legit project. However they currently only work with University of Management and Economics (UME), at Battambang and Kampong Cham.

Basically it's personal equity finance. What that means is that it works kind of like a student loan, except that how much you pay back depends on how much you earn. If you don't get a job you pay nothing. If you get a regular job you'll pay a small amount. If you end up with a high paying job you'll end up paying back more than you loaned.

Basically, it's like staking someone. Investors are betting on the students' success.

Yes, the sponsors put up money. They are basically stakers. You don't have to sponsor her to help her write an email to the project though.

The sponsors and students don't know each other. The sponsors are mostly Australians who know the director in his capacity as an economist, although a few of them do spend some time in Phnom Penh each year. The only input they have if any is deciding which students to accept.

She can contact them without going to Kampong Cham, but as Wabby said they currently only take on students from those 2 universities, so if she wanted to get on the program she would have to go to one of those.

I don't really know any more about it than that, but I do know the director and he's spent a good chunk of his life teaching in Cambodia. He'd be happy to answer any of your questions.
