Even though they could see that I was making payments online, the payments just hadn't cleared yet.

i think im gonna tone down the volume on stars, ive been crushing it on party but losing consistently on stars, obv not much of a sample size yet, and ive made some deep runs in the mass field tourneys, but my bankroll isnt big enough for $11 rebuys, and pre black friday i really wasnt doing to well on that site most of my winning was coming on UB with some on fulltilt

so probably just play a $5 rebuy, 2 $33 hi lows, and a $5 mass field 20k guaranteed there every day and if i start to run better there add teh $11 rebuy and a $5 2r1a back in to the mix

and it pisses me off i do so bad in PLO tourneys, i try being nitty, i try gambling to get a stack, i try somewhere in between, nothing seems to work for me

pre black friday every day UB had a 1k guaranteed PLO8 tourney and a 1k guaranteed PLO tourney, played both every day (literally) and i won the plo8 more than i cashed the PLO

o ya realized the waterbuffalos are tied up today, they can roam a wide range but i dont think they can make it to the street, that takes all the fun out of talking ish to them

earlier in the thread i said you should change your $USD to riel, you dont get a huge break or anything, just a dollar or two for every hundred, but it helps offset the bank fees you get charged

i have found one exception though, there might be more, but dont pay at the grocery stores in riel as for some reason they charge more in riel than they do in dollars, but if you go to a restaurant, or pay a moto or a girl its good to use riel

Friday Night Phnom Penh style -

Friday night I went to Red Fox for some poker. There were some real newbie New Zealanders who had no idea what they were doing. They kept saying "how many beans" and calling off all their chips. With no pair and no low. In 5 card high-low. On the river. I couldn't find a hand that bad if I tried.

Unfortunately I couldn't really take advantage of them as the cigarette smoke in the interrogation room, i mean poker room, was getting the best of me. I headed out a 13 dollar winner, tipped Touch the fine dealer 3 drizzle, then made my way for Naga world for the first time.

At Naga world I identify 2 young professional Finnish players around me, and a Dutch player across the table (though I didn't know he was Dutch till later.) First hand I play I'm UTG with 88 and limp for two, pretty much everyone else at the table limps and we see a flop of A84cc. I check raise and old timer American's 15 dollar bet to 70 and he shows J3cc face up and folds. I let him know it's a fantastic fold.

I notice the Finnish guy to my right is playing aggressively, firing multiple barrels, and I think I'm able to spot some body language tells. I'd make a note to try to get involved with him and I do several hands later when he raises to 15, young Asian man flats, and I call with KK hoping action behind me bumps the action or to disguise my hand hoping to get multiple barrels from OOP aggressor who I believe I have a good read on. The small blind calls and we see a flop with a pot of 60.

Flop comes KQJcc. The player in the small blind immediately goes all in for 130, the Finnish player folds, the Chinese player hollywoods a bit...real bad acting too like "ohhh I don't know...what should I do...I guess I call". It seems I may be up against a good hand and a good draw, but **** it I've got about 200 left I'm not folding top set here. I shove, Asian man calls. He asks if I have a straight and I reply I have a set. Turn is a blank. River is a king. I've got quads. Small blind shows 9T for second nuts on the flop, the other player had ATcc for the nuts with the royal flush redraw. Wow. Dodged a bullet there.

Can anybody see a reason for me to play that hand differently though? I can't. I mean, maybe preflop I should have bumped it up, but that's a matter of optimal frequency of raising that we're talking here, so this one decision was fine either way with such a small sample size right?

After the game breaks I meet the Dutch player Ayke near the cashiers and we strike up a conversation. Turns out he had his own travel forum on Bolivia. We decide the only reasonable thing to do is get drunk together.

We take a Tuk Tuk to Pontoon night club, but when we get there they tell us they're close. ****.

Next we go to some bar that's completely dead, but he want's to just get a drink anyway. He orders some French drink that I've never heard of. What'd you get man? Is it like an appertif or hard liquor or what?

He's like "stop being a pussy man order your own drink."

Me being the sensitive Shelby that I am order a Jamison. Neat. Goes down smooth like Sriracha. We finish our drinks and GTFO to find something somewhere.

Then we go to some other bar near the Red Fox with a pool table, girls, and an old dude that looks like Santa Claus. He buys this round since I bought the first one, or vice versa I don't really remember doesn't matter either. Ayke wants to make a prop bet. I miss prop bets and Vegas so I agree before I hear what it is. He likes to play a game where you roll a billiard ball to the other end of the pool table and back. The ball that's closes to the rail when it comes back, without touching, wins. Inexplicably I'm able to win twice. The second time I'm sure my ball was going to touch the bumper but it stopped like a centimeter away, making it basically a perfect shot.

So while he goes and talks to the ladies by the bar I prop bet the bartender that if she beats me at pool I'll buy us each a shot. Turns out she's a goddamn hustler and she crushes me several games in a row. Actually by the end of the night we'd take 5 drinks together, blech! I kept thinking I could beat her, but I was stubborn and wrong.

So during one of my losing drinks at the bar the old guy that looks like Santa Claus and talks like William Wallace comes over and tells me how he admires my shirt. It reminds him of shirts they use to have in the seventies. It's purple with a very interesting drawing of an owl on it. I bought it when I was really high last summer and have been enjoying wearing it ever since.

I tell him he can have my shirt if he wants and it fits him... Well he's short and fat and I'm tall and cut so I didn't think it would fit him but we pop our shirts and exchange them anyways, soccer style. My shirt doesn't fit him all that great as his old man tits are just hanging out. I tell him the ladies will think he's easy, so be careful.

I soon realize that the old man's shirt, besides being a terrible fit and cheap quality, smells like an old man. So I pop it off and go shirtless for my remaining games of pool. A few drinks later Ayke wants to make another prop bet. A pushup prop bet.

This is what one would call throwing good money after bad. Ayke's in pretty good shape, he probably jogs and goes to the gym or whatever. But he can see me with my shirt off. My muscles are chiseled from the gods themselves.

I accept his 10$ prop bet and we use one of the Red Fox poker players who's wandered in as a judge. We rock paper scissors for who goes first. He loses and therefore goes first. He nets a very respectable 75 pushups. I'm actually somewhat worried.

Not too worried though. I'm able to beat his score and hit 79 before I stop. GG. Plz don't make prop bets with someone who's running like god and hitting quad kings on river.

I feel like we made a fourth prop bet that night but I don't really recall what it was...hmmm...

Anyways that was pretty much the end of the night. I'd walk home in the morning daylight looking like a harlot with my man-tits on display for all to see. End up eating a spicy Khmer red curry at a restaurant next to my hotel then going in to sleep till 2.

What time did you go to pontoon because it's open till like 4 every night. Friday night is also the only night of the week you have to pay for admission. ($3)

I went Thursday night at x oclock, as I don't have a watch with me. Whenever the poker game shut down at Nagaworld. Went to Pontoon the next night on Friday, must've upped the price to 4$.

at one point i actually thought i had him convinced to go to a shack but he ends up declining, i was being very persuasive (not lying) and thought i had broken him down, will continue to try tomorrow as he says he is out for new experiences and he confirmed he has never been to a shack like that before

we also went to some lv club, that was an interesting experience, pretty rare to see kids (like 7 years old) hanging out in a club with there parents, only in cambodia

ez got hit on really hard by a ladyboy but he wasnt drunk enough yet and this one was extremely obvious

all in all didnt really like the place, music was awful and obv way to loud, decent amount of girls there but think only way to meet them is to dance and F dancing, noticed a few of the girls that work at the bars on the beach there so definitely some freelancers not sure if the rest were normal girls or working girls, not my scene at all and ez was tired so we left really quick, doubt ill go back

its funny to see ez constantly try and crack jokes to the people here because they have no clue at all what he is saying and it goes way over their heads, but he says them in a normal and serious tone so it messes with them a bit

to reward the girl who beat ez in pool i obv had to bring her back to my room, she is the same girl i mentioned the other day would make a good arranged marriage partner, so if pool playing ability is something you look for in a wife the girl has some skills

when i got back with her i knocked on ez's door because he said he was gonna meet me down at dolphin but never showed, he came to the door in only his boxers, so even though i didnt get to bang him i at least had that image freshly in my mind as i went to town on..........

Table broke, up, we went to pontoon, buddy mentioned above gave his voucher for half a bottle of grey goose. We drank, ordered a bottle of bacardi, went with some girls from pontoon to the hotel were we continued. The moment they were discussing human rights and ngo involvent at 7.00 i decided to go home with my girl and close the night. Still a nice night tough.

Pontoon: my fav, 90% of the girls a freelancing, best dance music. 20-30 uds going rate.
Saint tropez: an attempt to do something classy in PP, like bed supperclub in BKK but then not the exact crowd. but then, 130 usd for 18yr chivas bottle cant complain.
Mao: weekends good, 108street, corner of the night market, no tourist mostly expats.
lounge at riverside: 110: very small, wanna be arty, nice music and no hookers. Damn, that is nice sometimes.
Heart of darkness. Sucks. old working girls and too much gays. i do not understand it is still considered in reviews.
Darling darling, At nagaworld, expensive not fun, boring rich old crowd, like a hotelbar, overpriced hos. The band can be cool tough.

cambo places:
Club DJ. real cambo, cute girls, some husslers who want to hook you up. close to 51
La Casa. dance music, a lot of working girls, definately fun.

Ladybars: 104 st is nicer because it is more quiet and the girls work harder for attention. 136 is too much known and girls get too arrogant.

I still stay to my previous statement that khmer girls are 1.5 points below a thai girl. 90 % of the girls of 136 street would not be able to make a living in Pattaya or Patong.
