Just arrived here in PP yesterday and wanted to ask: is Red Fox 1 or 2 best pokerwise?

It didn't take long for the new floor man to acclamate to Phnom Penh. He's hit the bars pretty hard every night and missed our Omaha game last night because he had a date. He sent me a preview pic and when I saw it I could swear it was a dude. Then he actually brought her by the poker room and and then sent me another pic this morning for further confirmation of her being an actual girl. As far as my own life is concerned, I have settled down a bit. I'll probably write on it further at some point.

Edit: I saw his girl last night and she's definitely a girl. Still, hard to believe the two pictures are of the same girl.

Sundays are always a challenge as we run both cash games and a tournament and the brunt of that work falls on me before the night floor man even comes in. Our Sunday events have been gaining traction and so today's tourney had me busy right up until I got off at 7:00 PM. One of the players and friend had just returned from a short trip to Thailand so a group of us decided to head out after my shift. We started at my favorite Korean restaurant in town, ordering a bunch of barbeque then capping the dinner off with some soju. We didn't want to end the night there so we headed out to a more local spot called the Jet's Container Night Market. Now I really didn't want to go as my only previous experience with the place was when another poster here sent me a distress signal a few months back saying he was in an unfamiliar place surrounded by locals without a single foreigner in sight. A group of us went on a rescue mission of sorts to make sure he was ok. It turned out he was completely fine and even ended up going to Pontoon with some girls he had met there. So my initial impression of the place wasn't great but I'm glad my friends changed my mind as the evening was very fun. It's basically this huge market area filled with one bar after another, interrupted every so often by the occasional shop. There was loud and live music everywhere and all sorts of drinks and snacks bring sold. It's the type of thing that I never get to do here because sometimes I get too busy being a foreigner and spending all my time either in a casino/poker room or the mall. In either case it was fun to welcome our friend back and I'm sure we'll have a few more nights like this in the weeks to come.

Do you know what dates in January you expect to hold this tourney? I plan to be there for a couple of weeks in January and will plan my trip to coincide with the tourney.

I am assuming that the cash games will be better during the tourney too......am i correct?

I'll set a hard date for the next two events and announce them shortly here and on our Facebook page.

Hello everyone

Ill be in Cambodia for the first time in January and have a few newbie questions,,

--I will be playing poker at Riverking every day I am there (that's what I do wherever I am). Can I expect there to be 2-5 nlh and 2-5 plo running every day in January?

--Is there a hotel associated with Riverking and if so are the rooms nice? How much are they? If no how much will it cost me to stay in a nice place close by? I will also need a room with a safe and A/C.

--How far from the airport is Riverking?

Thanks in advance,

Larry

$2-$5 nlh goes irregularly during the low season, but we expect it to be a more frequent thing during high season. But honestly I cannot say if it will be an everyday thing. The current daily game is $1-$3 but it does play bigger. As far as Omaha is concerned, the two daily games are $1-$2 and $5-$5. The former is more of a social game whereas the lineup for the latter is utterly ridiculous.

The Riverking is in a hotel and we offer players a discount to $10 per night for playing three hours per day. It's a basic 3-star hotel but it's quite nice as I have stated there myself. It had free WiFi and a massage facility on site and typically houses 10-20 poker players depending on the season. You can keep your valuable at the Riverking as we keep most player's banks and have done so without incident for over four years.

The airport is 30-45 minutes from the Riverking and center of town, be depending on the time of day and traffic.

Went out last night with the new floor as we had agreed to do some cross promoting with some bars on the Riverside. Seeing as how the owner we were set to meet with went to Thailand, we put business aside for the night and figured it a good excuse to get drunk. We hit up about four bars throughout the evening and at each one I told the girl that I bought a drink for that I have a girlfriend. It's interesting how that has the exact opposite effect of what I was trying to achieve as that declaration seemed to make the girls pay me even more attention. It seemed to have something to do with how they considered me to be a good man for being upfront and thought that to be an attractive trait, although I would have to cheat on my girlfriend for that to even matter to them. I know I usually fu*k up the definition of irony, but that seems to fit the bill. In either case it certainly made for an interesting night. I left after the fourth bar while the new floor stayed out. By the way he took up the apartment right above mine and I can always tell when he gets home, especially when he brings home a lady friend. It's rather unmistakeable.

The Riverking is located inside the Comfort Star 2 Hotel on Street 200. It's a basic three star hotel but has free WiFi, a massage facility on site and many of the players in the room stay there. We offer discounts to $10 per night for those that play three hours per day. I'll post pictures of the rooms in a bit.

hello everyone

Now I am in Cambodia and playing poker on pokerstars.

I have questions about withdrawing from pokerstars.

-Please tell me how to withdraw money from pokerstars in Cambodia.-

I have ABA bank account, Skrill, Neteller. but I can not withdraw money.

I can transfer money from pokerstars to Neteller and Skrill, but Neteller and Skrill can not cash out money to US dollar bank account.

Then I tried to find CFT eligible visa card in Cambodia, but probably none of Cambodian banks have CFT visa card.

Please help me.
