Facebook is loading slow as **** since I'm here in Cambodia - is it usually like this around here?

Night a Queenco was pretty fun, although I - together with one of the broke bros - didn't make it on the actual playing table. Been 4 tables at the start, with all in/flip for the first hand. The 2 winners of each table got to "final table" - one of them was Luke who got 5th - and 1st place won a $110 ticket to an ATP side event. Places below got restaurant vouchers, free bottle of vodka and other stuff. Not too bad at all. The girl in the pic on the fb page is a real cutie btw.

The poker room looks really nice, the chairs are like haven and the staff seems to know what they're doing. Guess AJ is taking good care of it and might be able to keep it going. Best of luck anyways, was a nice evening there - see you around, AJ!

- - -

It's ****ing boiling, got a huge hangover and just trying to figure out what to do tonight. Might start with a beer now.

You look same same before, from pics.

What's with the vomit coloured table felt? Don't play with a hangover!
It does look like the cleanest place I've ever seen in Cambo.

Yeah, the tables colour is a bit irritating first but it's so ****ing clean everywhere, such a nice atmosphere. Was really positively impressed.

Unless you're just completely new or look like a deer caught in headlights, $100 will get you long time from many of the girls. After a while most of the girls start lowering their prices with regulars. And if you are new, go with a friend who is a regular and that usually earns you a little something with the girls in terms of price.

sure if you're a regular they will give you a discount. you don't need to tell me that. works like that in gogos.

but the rate is $100 short time at darling darling. if you don't want to pay the rate then wait for them to go to pontoon.

Depends what you're looking for from a night out really, there's places to cater for call tastes. Chilled out bars, clubs, girlie bars etc. Impossible to say without knowing what you're into.

My usual itinerary for a night is having a few chilled out beers at riverside or my friends bar, heading to st 130/136/104 which are littered with girlie bars then onto Pontoon or other places around St 51/172 till the early hours. The problem with Pontoon is although it's an awesome club it's like 90% freelancers in there, it's a better place to go have fun with a group of friends than to try pick up a non-working girl - if you're happy to pay then Pontoon is absolutely the place you should end up as it's busy every night of the week and has 3 rooms now all with different types of music. One of Pontoon's rooms opens till (and is busy till) around 7am now, and another place on St 51 opens at 4am and is busy till 8am ish... so you can go for as long as you can manage here really.

There are other st's which I haven't explored that well closer to Independent Monument like 278 which might be worth checking out. There are other clubs scattered around Phnom Penh that attract a more majority Khmer crowd (Nova has some unreal talent in but is pretty small) but it's pretty difficult to pick up women with normal jobs etc in clubs. I think it's a mixture of how shy they are and that their view on most farangs being sex pests.

Been to some poker on Sunday evening and already got a little headache when I arrived at the place. Got some pain killer (at least I guess) from there, took it and stepped out to the beach for a few minutes (at least I guess) to get some fresh air. Woke up back in my guesthouse room late afternoon the next day and can't remember anything from - total blackout. Found out I was missing $30 in cash I got in my pocket. Also have a belt I can store money it, so that luckily was still there. Wonder what was going on that night - as only one beer included.

were you at the queenco when you got drugged?

Yeah, I've been at Queenco before I had the blackout but there's no way I got some kind of "drugged" there as I received the pain killers from Westerners staying there on holidays - they've just been friendly. It might have been a bad reaction to the pain killers I took in the morning because of my bad back. At least that's the only thing that makes sense to me right now.

This one was actually more fun (as written in my blog):

So I went out last night, had a couple of beers in different bars and ended up in this one bar where a deaf-mute girl was talking to some foreigners. Turned out she wasn't a hooker but married to some Swedish guy who's currently back to Sweden. She was just looking for a good time with some drinks and as I know some sign language myself I was translating.
Later on another girl arrived but she didn't understand any single word of English - because she was also deaf-mute. Funny thing about that: This one (I would say body 8/10, face 4/10) only knew Khmer sign language which is absolutely not to compare to "western" sign language. France, Germany, Scandinavia, UK, US - there's a **** load of basic signs in common. Not so in Khmer.

The first girl was now translating Khmer sign language into Western sign language for me and it turned out girl 2 would like to go to a different place with me. I asked "how much?" because had already enough beers to go with a ~ 6/10 at this point but was told there's no money included, she just wants to have a good time. I was like "yeah okay, even if you end up paying $10 it might be worth it" and gave it a shot. This whole process took about 4h to get it settled because of all the translation but it was definitively worth it. The girl - obviously - wasn't talking a single word while we were in the room and when she left later at sun rise she actually refused to take the $10 I offered her telling me something for a couple of minutes in Khmer sign language I didn't understand. Sex was surprisingly good tho, not just a catfish in bed. Will look out for her I'm in the area the next time and hope the other girl is around to translate.

Cambodia is notorious for drink spiking. And that sounds exactly like what happened to you. They probably gave you GHB.

you're very vulnerable leaving queenco at night because it's an isolated area. plus going to/coming from a casino makes you a bigger target again since you there's the greater likelihood of you having a relatively large amount of cash on you.
Living in Cambodia and turning Pro Quote

Well, I didn't have a beer in the casino - so that would mean the owners in my guesthouse did this. And that's just very unlikely to me as they know I don't have much money around, have more than enough theirselves and all that.

@ lol69: Well, that's a sure thing. I took the official Queenco tuktuk last time as I wasn't sure about taking a moto driver I don't know in this area - especially when stepping out of a casino. Could have hit a jackpot or whatever. But as I said: No chance I got drugged at Queenco as I didn't have a drink there.

Hey thanks for the detailed reply, I'm here now with a couple of friends, by the riverside having some Cheap beers. Will def give The girlie bars a try although they don't look as fun as Thailand... and then pontoon for sure. Sounds like pretty good club.

I am curious about western food on Cambodia/Thailand/Nam. I really dislike oriental food(spicy or sweet meat). Are there places that sell brown rice/whole wheat, cheese, beef, pork, good fish, etc? I know it will be expensive compared to local food, but how affordable is it? Is it easy to find good places to rent, or is it recommended to search a lot before picking one?

Do you wanna know about Cambodia, Thailand or Vietnam now? Because for two of these three it's the wrong thread.

Found a couple of good girlie bars on 104 i think, One girl i rly liked but felt like she was mugging me off with the price so left it and went pontoon. Didnt think it was as good as Thailand Degen clubs, especially coming from Pattaya, insomnia is a lot more fun imo. Back home without a Girl somehow. have one more night out before snooky the day after
