mostly older expats living off their pensions, plus the dealer who i had a 2 hour chat with tonight which is the longest continuous chat ive had with anyone in probably 5 years, very informative and will get into it

jesue i told them i would have all my bills paid and they said ok answer a phone call, lets see if thats still true now that the time is actually here, the guy who runs charlie harpers said worst case scenario open up the cheapest internet account i can and pay up front get a bill and then cancel it, may cost me $50

so first my chat then to the shenanigans, pertinent info first, if you get dengue fever only take paracetamol (tylenol) dont take ibuprofen or advil or anything, she said she has had it and everything else many times, i guess a case of dengue went around charlies not to long ago, so sorry i missed out on it

said if you go to ct clinic NEVER stay overnight even if they tell you you should, if you have a broken leg still leave as there will be mosquitos in the place that have bit others with bad things

said if you get pulled over driving a moto just hand the cop a dollar instantly and drive off, he will gladly take it, said the cops here make $40 a month

o ya for some reason the head guy at charlies keeps saying the cash game is $1-$2 blinds, its not, its .25-.50, i very politely tried to bring up how asinine the buy ins were for a 1-2 game and she said no its .25-.50 and the buy in is $20-$30 not $20-$50

so overall i liked the tourney structure and the cash game seems good as well

confirmed by another person that the rake is 2.5% at fortuna casino, uncapped, but still for asia thats pretty great

i had earlier mentioned how one of the girls at charlies was like hardcore staring at/eye****ing me during the game last night, and it was even more today when i first got there, bunch of guys around so i was gonna wait till a time where it was less busy to proceed but then i had this convo, one of the older guys was jokingly getting mad saying see the young guy comes in and all the girls flock to him, hehe twas true but...........

someone in the thread said the girls at charlies were not barfineable, she mentioned that one of the guys who was wasted was gonna end up barfining a girl (she was right, and it was the tied for cutest girl that works there who was eye****ing me) and i was like whoa i heard they werent, well they are, all but a few, $10 barfine then u discuss what else with the girl, im not even kidding that when i told her how i heard they werent she laughed for a solid 2+ minutes and started almost crying, no exaggeration on the length of this laugh

informed me that every girl is barfineable in sihanouk except the ones right on the beach arent legally allowed to do that, she said that once you pay the barfine you can stay with them as long as you want and not have to pay barfine every day like you are supposed to in angeles and i assume thailand, that most girls would gladly stay with you for a month for $200-$300, the most she had heard of for a month was $500 but she said i would know who the girl was right as i saw her because she is that smoking hot (not a worker at charlies)

said for the first week the girl will follow you around like a puppy everywhere you go even if you try to get her to stay she will be jealous that some other girl will take you and your money from her

i told her i was gonna try and find some normal girls at some point and again she started laughing and said where u gonna find them.... i was like i dunno she said good luck and that the only places are either girls working down on the beach or cashiers in stores or girls like that, and that it wont be easy

said its almost impossible to marry a girl here (for poker players) because you need to have verifiable income of $1400 a month, poker winnings wont count and not sure of any job that would pay that over here

said girls will never be alone at night no matter what, they will either live with family or in groups, and she said the reason was because over here people are very scared of ghosts and they think if they are alone ghosts will get them, i press her on this askin if serious and she was 100% that yes they really do

she said they also will never walk anywhere because that makes them look poor, i try and point out that they are poor and saving the dollar would help but they dont care they just wont do it, and after thinking about it the only people you ever see walking anywhere are white and the tuk tuks look at you not only like your cheap but also like your crazy for walking any time u turn them down

said that overall there are no levels of thinking here for anything, they only see whats right infront of them, i was telling her how i hid the green stuff i got because i thought it could be a scam and she said no way, its not like other places, drivers and cops dont work together and they dont trust each other, and that the only way they would do a scam is if they caught you in the act they wont think far enough ahead to set anything up because that takes work

i asked her if she knew if there was extradition here and she said yes but that once your in the country you will never be found, that if you move across the street you are basically lost to anyone unless they see you, said a lot of the guys in charlies have a criminal past

said that coooookaaayeeena doesnt exist over here and if anyone tries to sell u it its fake, also said that a lot of the motos that drive you around at night are cops and they sell

said that if you ever get busted and taken down to station and pay a bribe what will happen is you will pay the guys and then they will walk over to talk somewhere else, then another guy will come over to talk to you, it will feel like an interrogation but its really just a chat, offer to give them some money to go buy some whiskey he'll go have a drink and hang out with them, they will likely even roll a joint to smoke with you, go ahead and hit it, and then at some point tell em you gotta go and everything will be fine

but she said as long as you dont go out of your way to try and get caught you wont

said NEVER leave it in your moto under the seat, if your driving with it have it in your pockets they wont pat you down but if they lift up the seat and see it at a traffic stop you will for sure have to pay the bribe

said if your talking to someone who doesnt speak english say "check angley" and they will get someone who does

the word rice and the number 3 are both pronounced the same way so when she tries to speak in their language that always messes them up

umm, im sure theres more but thats all i can think of for now

really weird coincidence in the game last night i was told to ask for 2 guys, martin and pasquale about how to fund the online sites, then today i get a pm from a guy named morten who happened to be the guy i was told to ask about, yet he was just pming out of the blue because of this thread

anyways he said moneybookers is the best and easiest way to fund the accounts here but it may be a bit of a hassle for me to get it set up, but if i show them the paperwork the guy from charlies gave me that it might work, also offered to meet up with me and ill give him a few hundo and he'll transfer, being the paranoid Fker i am i said cool but ill give ya a lil money if we can do the deal at charlies and i pay when the moneys in my account, i 100% dont think he is trying to scam me or anything, thats just how i am

he said entropay will work but is more costly and more of a hassle

so now to tonights shenanigans, i figure no poker and nothing else to do lets go up to this victory hill place and see what its all about, well its kinda like a mini angeles city, just 1 small strip of open air bars, very few guys, girls sitting around outside inviting you in for drinks, but they dont speak english and i know after the standard hi how are you where you from questions there aint gonna be ish to say

so i see a pretty girl and im like hey how much for you to come with me, she says 40, ive been told never pay more than 15 for long time in cambo on some other forums, and some say 20, so im like uhh well whats barfine she says 10 (think thats standard all over the country) and i say well i'll give you 20 she doesnt want to im like come on wont have to stay long just do it a couple times and you can go

she talks with her friend and then says ok so we head off, do the deed (nice ass, while in the shower i picked up her bra and it was the thicket padded bra i have ever seen, still ok tits i guess but not what i was expecting, still im always fine with a pretty face and nice ass, or i guess with anything really hehe)

anyways so she hops in shower after round 1 then i get in, i come out and she is getting dressed im like we still go again she says ya, but then she continues getting dressed and i say why and she says i go now, im like uhh we said twice, she says i no do 20 for 2 times 20 for 1, im like but you said twice i wouldnt have gone with you for 1 time, this goes on for awhile and i think im reasonable and say well ill give 15 for that and she says why u like that and im like im not like that your like that you told me twice, this goes on for awhile again, this is about my least favorite thing in the world she says it was a miscommunication and she never would have agreed to twice for that, i dunno maybe shes telling the truth, i try and stick with my only 15 and she is getting mad, she says what $5 a lot of money to you i say its not about that its how you said twice and now only wanna do once.......

ya so that goes on for like 5 minutes, she gets madder and im thinking this chick may call some guys to come stab me over $5 so eventually i just cave

obv cant complain about bangin a hot chick for $30, but still........

not a fan of the victory hill place, guess ill try the bar that used to be called freedom but they were forced to change the name to freelancers, and i guess it fits because thats where all the freelancers hang out

ugh i miss angeles city and philippino girls so much

will probably remember a lot of stuff from the convo i had tomorrow and post it in here as well

uncapped rake is pretty bad. never heard of an actual legit poker room that had uncapped rake. tho 2.5% softens the blow a lot.

gl man sounds like you'll need it.

also pretty crazy you expect stars to get your account open so fast. do you even have a bank account yet? this stuff takes at least a few days. just make an account on some other room or whatever.

Took me like 7-10 days to get my account back in Thailand. They wanted my utility bill (internet) translated into English and notarized

I'm planning on opening up accounts on a wider range than just stars...is it quick and easy to open up a party poker account, or other such alternative, trusted sites?

I only have my stars account activated, somebody else will have to answer that

I've spent the last few months bonus whoring and have signed up for more that 10 sites while in Cambodia covering all the major networks with no problem. About half of them have needed a utility bill or something for verification when you make your first withdrawal.

Moneybookers is actually really easy to sign up for. You can be using it as early as later today, but the limits will be low until you go through some of their verification process. That was honestly the biggest poker road block I've had while in Cambodia so make sure you start working on that as soon as you sign up for an account.

From what I've seen about people reactivating their Stars account in other countries, you could be up and running later today or a few weeks from now. If you are really itching to play online, you should trade your cash with that guy at Charlie's to fund your moneybookers. The process is almost instant and you could then be playing somewhere else right away.

well the guy says he wont do the trade in a public place, he wants me to bring the money to his house..... have i mentioned im paranoid before? dude i only know from the internet and who just contacted me wants to bring what is a large sum of money here, hop on a moto and have it drop me off down some random street to go to some random guys house..... ugh

i dont in any way think he is setting me up to rob me, but still.......

his explanation for why not a public place though makes sense, says he has lots of money in moneybookers and doesnt want to use public wifi or any computer but his own, my counter to this is at any time of convenience we can meet at charlies, ill buy usb internet stick that he can take with him, ill buy him dinner, a beer, and give him $10

really no reason why he shouldnt accept that imo, but i have a feeling he wont

so stars, even though they told me that they wouldnt need a utility bill 2 weeks ago, just rejected me saying i didnt send them everything (meaning the bill) so i told them that all my bills are paid and i cant get one and they already said that would be fine, now i gotta wait another day and a half to hear back from them....... ugh sooooooooo bored ffs

sofocused, stars wants to call you on a landline to verify you are here, only problem is in cambodia (or maybe just in sihanouk) there arent really land lines per say so they are basically just calling me on the dudes phone that they use as the main phone at charlies, i dont think them calling me on my cell would work, but no i havent got one yet, the first one i get will just be a cheap nokia with no camera anyway

overall not a fan of the food here, the bbq ive got was ok, the best thing ive got has been the breakfast at charlies probably

well actually the bbq fish i got was pretty good but it messed with my stomach a bit i think

the food in thailand was the best, and i liked the clean safe food in the malls in PI as well

ezyano what other sites you plannin on playing? you are gonna have a wide range you say? some things never change

What are the people like in cambodia? The real locals? (Not the ones trying to make a buck off a tourist)

Are the people educated? Speak much english?

Are the women dtf? Foreigner friendly? (Not the paid ones )

they speak lil to no english, meaning at best you can say hi they say hi and then maybe a how are you or where you from might get an answer

the people at hotels that work with tourists all the time and are trying to make a buck usually cant answer the question "how much is your monthly rate"

so if they cant answer that the locals..............

re-read that post i just made from the convo last night, i only been here 3 days and have been bedridden for the most part, but from what i was told last night it seems like there are very few normal girls and the majority of expats just barfine a girl and hang out with her as long as both want to, sort of like renting a girlfriend

most of the times so far that any normal girl has shown any interest its been when looking for a place to stay and from a girl that is showing me around the hotel and is borderline to young, happened again yesterday, this one was really cute but i would guess maybe 17 (fwiw "legal" here is 15) but i obv dont want to mess with anything that young, who knows they she may just be a small 20 year old, may go back and ask her age

i dunno though you dont get the smiles and waves and signs that the girls are easily approachable that i noticed when i walked off the beaten path
in PI

edit to add who knows though i say the only time its happened is when im looking for a place, but thats pretty much all ive done so.......

if you went out to a bar or club or something i think you could likely bring something back

The real locals are incredibly friendly and open to foreigners. It's hard to compare Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh because it is a tourist town and that can make the locals see you as more of a revenue source than elsewhere, but it is more people trying to sell you things than scam you. I feel like there has been so much talk about how dangerous Cambodia is that people get the wrong idea. It would be hard to find a country where you will see more smiles. They like to joke around and have a beer so I think hanging out with locals can be pretty great here, at least in PP.

Education is a challenge. You have to remember that the Khmer Rouge was killing anyone with an education just a generation ago. It is getting better, but sometimes it can be surprising what types of things they don't know. For instance, show most Cambodians a map, and they have no idea what they are looking at. It could be a map of their own city and to them it is just a bunch of random lines because they were never really exposed to reading maps before.

English is becoming pretty common in PP. A lot of people speak it to varying degrees of proficiency.

For the most part, "real" Cambodian women are pretty conservative and are probably not dtf. Family is really important here and most marriages are still arranged by parents. It is possible to find a local girlfriend, but it's not the easiest country to do it.

i was so happy to be able to withdraw my money from stars i INSTA did it before thinking to cash in my fpps, then when i did i only got $35 and it wasnt enough to cash out

was pissed at the time, happy about it now

still just waitin for an email

waitin and waitin and waitin, wish i knew how long its gonna take cuz if its gonna be a week or so i'd be best off going up to charlie harpers and renting the cute girl who kept eyefukin me for the next week

no

the money is ready and waiting

still have to be accepted by stars but they dont seem to love me at the moment

they told me i wouldnt need a utility bill 2 weeks ago since all were included, looks like they lied maybe dunno

so i was talkin to a guy who owns a place here askin about the power outtages, he said they wont be anywhere near as big of an issue now because they are getting the power from some vietnam company and have been for 2 days..... and it didnt go out at all yesterday, or yet today, and only for 1 hour real early in the day 2 days ago, so maybe those are done

someone in pm suggested i check out dateinasia.com, i did it for PI like 5 months ago just to see what was on there but never actually talked to any girls, so im bored out of my ever loving mind and go there and type in sihanoukville cambodia, not 1 girl there........ maybe i did something wrong, but i dont think so
