maybe thats how it was for you, but the two major banks in snooky (acleda and the red one) wouldnt let me open without the police certificate and i tried 3 or 4 times at each asking different people each time....... was 0% chance i was opening an account at either bank there without it

So I roll into PP at 5:30, get to hotel at 6 and say *** it, Im going to Naga before the seats fill. The table is full at 6:30, which is earlier than last month.

I go play BJ and I win 255 and leave after 6 hands because the village starts sitting at the table not playing, putting money on my hand and pair bet. I get pissed when I lose a double down on the first hand they were there and go to the poker table.

A new table starts with six players and I double up quickly on pocket tens with a flopped ten and filled on river against a missed flush draw guy who has not idea how to play poker. He is over betting 120 into ten dollar pot and other ****.

I chip to 900 on a few two pairs and Im feeling good.

I get 7 j in the bb and no raise and ride it. Flop comes 7 Q J rainbow, He bets small, I raise and he calls. There is like 200 in the pot and its the flush draw guy. I look at his chips and say **** he could be on a straight draw and push 300. I didnt see his 500 chip under his purples, Im not happy.

He calls and turn come Q. I kinda pussed up and checked n he checked back. River comes J and I feel fuked. I check as I just didnt know if he had q as he called my "push". He cashes his 500 n bets 200. So its 750 in there and now alot more.

I tank too little and figure if doenst have the q it could be a chop at best and fold to a 200 bet into 750, which I normally woudn't do, but I'm playing very bad lately. He flips k 10 and I vault out of my seat and the chair goes flying and I push my purples in one motion and got the **** out of Naga, as a mega tilt was coming on.

I leave and go buy a bag and now Im going to smoke all night and work on my project, as Im having project tilt too as one my designers is ****ing up at a bad time.

Im +512 though, for 2 hours play and now Im going to get some work done and Im heading down towards team Yayyz and Izzit tomorrow by the same moto I rented last time ...

How bad did I play this hand, besides the misread on his chips?

well there are like a bazillion more combos of missed draws than there are possible Q's he can have. Then add in the fact the villian you described very likely rebombs the flop or bets the turn with any Queen. Then add in the fact that you are getting a sick good price on a river call.... and well yeah, you made a pretty terrible fold

But nice job having a winning session and have fun in Snooky! Post more pics if any of you guys get the chance.

Yazzy I cant even watch that video as I'm really pissed still, and want a poker break until we hit Queens. This is why I can't play and need to stake as my tilt and BRM are out of control and that is a bad combo. The good news is I've been winning in Cambodia and up like 3,300 on the last month here.

I just need to smoke this whole bag, as I need to build my endurance to having any chance to hang with you two veterans...

Also after further reading something isn't making sense. You said he bets small and you raise flop. You then say there is $200 in the pot, but then start mentioning more betting going on before the turn Queen even comes? You said you pushed 300 and then the turn queen came and it went check/check.

Oh and what stakes game is this and is it in $'s? Pretty sick there could be $750 in the pot before any river action in a limped pot. Unless you did some absurd huge flop raise I guess? ( which would be doing the same thing that you made fun of the fish for doing in previous hands, betting huge into small pots).

Yeah doesn't make sense, I recalled wrong, I'm a little wired. I bet on the flop little as the pot was nothing, he raised and I went to 300 to shut it down (probably huge over bet). The amount was up past 700 when he called, I for sure checked on turn and river and he bet the river.

For sure a bad fold, still a little pissed at myself as I didn't think the hand through at all, especially the low cost to call.

The whole thing was a messed up hand, like I said, Im really playing poker bad and Im just a gambling disaster waiting to happen, but I need to generate a cash flow and its been working so Im just going to go with this stake thing and if I play there too, hopefully the change of scenery calms me down. But I cant play BJ, as the swings can destroy me in like 5 minutes.

But the good news is my other designer who I outsourced to India, came through on her part and my new site is very close to being ready. Could be launched in my camp in a week and live in about 12 days.

Will get some pics, looking forward to this whole situation as I feel its a win-win whatever happens...

1/2, yeah Im fishy too, but I wont bet 120 into 10 pre....think it was like 100 and change for 300, but I thought it was a power move to fold his straight draw n would have paid greatly, if not for his 500 chip and my further bad play on a hand I made like 4 + bad moves on.

is poker at naga safe? specifically leaving back to hotel without being followed, creepers following you around, etc? Stopping by Phnom Penh this week

I feel 100% safe, but I've heard stories of past robberies a few year back and also scammars around.

I usually do a walk around the casino on the bottom floor and make sure I'm not being tailed and go out a side door and get a moto or tuk-tuk that are always there.

Tonight I just the **** out and went straight to tuk-tuk and to the river.

ha yeah no problem with betting huge if you can get him to call with a strt draw, just call river next time

and def avoid the BJ (blackjack) ...the other BJ is alright if receiving. GLGL

Doesn't really sound like the actions of someone who considers themselves 100% safe.

I think you must always take precautionary measures when being abroad, especially when there is a known larger cash amount out there.

But I have no fear when Im there or leaving, I just believe personal security is something everyone should think about at all times when abroad, there is danger all around regardless where you are.

Cambodia is one of the most dangerous places in Asia and bag snatches/muggings are very common. If you feel 100% safe there it's because you aren't very good at assessing risk.

But it's standard for everyone on these boards to always say wherever they live is 100% safe regardless. Which is why questions like Mapz's are largely a waste of time. Take a look at the "places to expatriate to" thread for a giggle-worthy illustration.

That is ridico to say its not possible be able to feel 100% safe and not being able to access risk.

I don't need to look into your thread as your view of the world is tainted in my eyes and there no reason to even argue with you.

It's not "my thread", it's the stickied thread at the top of the travel forum. The link in my last post is a link to an article on Cambodia's biggest forum, written by someone who has lived in PP for years.

My view of the world is not "tainted" it's just realistic. Saying anywhere in Cambodia is 100% safe is ******ed.

FWIW I really don't give a **** if you want to believe me or not, guys like you obviously can't be told anything. The reason I posted is to give the guy who asked the question an alternative point of view. Being followed by would-be muggers/robbers who will attempt to snatch bags/wallets as they pass you on their motorbike is one of the most common forms of crime in Cambodia.

This happened to a girl I was with, we were on one of the busiest streets in PP and got out of a tuk tuk and 2 guys on a motor came past and snatched her purse, but luckily dropped it. No one seemed to batter an eyelid around us, that and the location speak volumes of how regular an occurrence it must be. Joke was on them as the the lack of contribution from her towards the beer/meals would indicate there was nothing in there, apart from cobwebs.
