hey.
has anyone checked out the beaches in front of snooky (kog rong salmolem).
how are they compared to thailand beaches? water quality, accomadations etc?

I haven't been to Koh Rong but the beach in Snooky is nice enough. Not as nice to look at as the best beaches in Phuket or Samui (the sand is yellow rather than white, and the beach is more exposed to the sea so the water is choppier), but the water is clean and there are restaurants and bars lined along the foreshore. Pretty cool place to hang out.

The best beach in Snooky is privately owned by the Sokha Beach resort. You can still go there if you aren't staying there as long as you buy a drink or food or whatever.

The main beach where all the bars are is called Serendipity beach. Tried to find the most accurate pics I could:

night:

Dude in the foreground looks pretty high. And yeah, people pretty much do fire off fireworks every night at sunset for no particular reason.
day:

although it wasn't nearly as busy as that when I was there.

This is just one of like half a dozen beaches in SHV, there are plenty of other beaches around if you want to seek out the quieter ones, but Serendipity beach is where all the tourists are. To the left of the last pic you can see the restaurants that line the beach. During the day they serve cheap food and drinks, at night some of them turn into clubs complete with drunk backpacker chicks and hookers.

There are plenty of places right near the beach where you can find a room starting at like $8 a night.

i think otres beach is the best beach if u just want to chill out, but food is a little more expensive there

Long beach on Koh Rong if you're looking for a quiet, beautiful beach

@all for discussion:

You think it`s wise to make for inctance on Facebook clear that you are a professional grinder and Coach + posting graphs as a successful MSNL+_Player (so some $$$ involved) while living in camb?
FB would be obv. a good pu blic place to share some insights for promo/marketing-reasons when you besides grinding also coach.

On the other hand everything would be public and onlinepoker (not bout livepoker in casions) is at least technically also in camb grey-area, tax-wise and also right-wise...

No issues legality-wise, but it might be wise not to let people know how much money you have.

In case anyone is curious I went to Naga this weekend. It's alive and well, both nights I played there were enough players for 2 tables. In my limited experience with PI and Macau I think this is probably the best game in SEA. Not crazy action but you'll almost always get 2 people limp calling raises, etc and everyone is friendly.

Wish I'd seen this thread before, was in S'ville in Sept/Oct. Loved it, great place/people.
