Does anyone in Cambodia have a Bank Account there and have it linked to stars?

Sounds like this might be a good place to visit, assuming the danger of tourists going missing is overblown

I've been living in Taiwan for a few months now and love it, but let's just say the only banana you will find here is a yellow fruit Would be nice to get my fix... Also, I too have heard about special "mushroom pizzas." My cousin said she ate one in Cambo thinking it was a pizza with a normal mushroom topping and ended up tripping balls all night lol.

can someone say when does the game run ? is it playable during weekdays?
i might go there for a week - havent been to cambodia.
i just dont want to end up with no live game

I did visit few weeks ago Nagaworld.The games start around 5 in the afternoon,sometimes around 6.But for sure full table running by then.Later on around 19.00-19.30,second table opens or a 2$/5$ will start up.During weekends games will be busy,mostly 3 tables running,sometimes even overnight and continuous play till monday morning early......

For sure you will find a game there any day,if not go to RedFox and probably they have a small game running.But very nice to go there,drink your beer or smoke your joint and relax.....If not,plenty of entertainment in Phnom Penh............

Does anybody now how much one can maximum withdraw each time with a neteller card from a ATM in Cambodia? I assume I can withdraw dollars there..

anyone planning to play at naga be very cautious on your way home late at night a friend of mine got robbed last night on his way home at 3.30 in the morning by two guys posing as cops pulled over the driver then pulled out a gun and stole 5k in cash from him so be very careful guys

That sucks. They must have known he came from the casino right so either they were waiting and followed them or maybe even worked with the driver. Either way, that's a bummer, guess you have to be extra careful over there.

5K is a really large amount of money for cambodians several years of avarage salary so you are bound to have criminals go for it if they know you have it on you...

I wonder if you can leave cash with the poker room there so you don't have to carry thousands of $'s every time you leave there?

I asked them today if you can open an account and hold money with the casino. They looked at me like I was crazy and had no idea what I was talking about. I asked both in the poker room and at the VIP desk in front

* I don't know ANY 2p2er's that live there (must be a reason for that)

I'll be flying to PP on the 3rd or 4th of August and staying... don't know how long. I want to look around, and I was considering getting internship with some microfinance institution for 2 months pherhaps.
I already sent some e-mails but maybe little to no response so I'll just stalk them while I'm there.

And as for poker... ****... this doesn't sound super safe but what to expect. Can you wire money instead ? just get the money somehow out of the country instead of carrying it with you ? any suggestions?

If not the internship I might just want to play a week or two but the stories ain't super cool lol

I guess exit the casino only day time... play all night, hang out wait for sun up and go home. should be safer. Or if you are too tired, sleep at the casino hotel.

I dont know why i read all this scary stories but i didnt experience PP like this.Have been there for around 2 weeks,carried enough money with me and after playing at NAGA i just took a motorbike and they dropped me at the place i wanted to go.Nothing ever happened.Even when being in pubs,bars and discos i carried big money,nothing happened.

Maybe its just to scare other new players off,the place is a good ground to grind for a few weeks and make decent money...........

All money above 20.000$ you have to declare after leaving the country and if going via Bangkok the same rule appears.So stay below this ammount and nothing will happen.........

I played every day for 18 days and left NAGA between midnight and 6am, jumped right into a tuk-tuk and for $2 was taken right to my hotel. No problems. I always had at least 2K on me.

That being said, it does not surprise me if people did get robbed there. There are a ton of good people in Cambodia, but there are also the very poor and very desperate - not to mention those that used to mass murder intellectual dissenters of the Khymer Rouge regime and their families (including bashing babies skulls against tree stumps) 30 years ago. Anyone in Cambodia that is 38 years old or older was on one side of that horrorfest - either the persecuted or the persecutors - and I am sure that either experience would leave you in a head space to do whatever you needed to do to survive. Robbing foreigners would be a walk in the park compared to what they had done / had been done to them in the past.

Just because you didn't get robbed personally doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If the wrong people finds out you have a couple of yearly salaries in your pocket they will go after it. That doesn't mean it happens everyday or that it's super dangerous. It means be a little bit careful and avoid tricky situations.

Problem is that it is hard to avoid the situtation. When you get into a tuktuk to return to your guest house you are very vulverable. What Slifdog failed to mention is he is 6'8" and weighs 420 pounds.

I use to play Commerce in Los Angeles 5 days a week. It is not uncommon for people to get robbed when they leave commerce. **** happens

Justice! You are in Cambodia already!?! Concentrate on grinding ffs, IMO - the games are good. How much did you spend boozing? Cambodia is cheap but 49 jager bombs is expensive anywhere.

Jager bombs were $2.50 at the first place and $3 at the 2nd bar. Place I am going to tonight says $1.50 jager bombs all night on the flyer. Literally on the beach right now with free wifi, just ordered some bbq for $3 (chicken, pork, beef mix plate). 50 cent beers. Boom! I'm not sure if the jager is a fake but I was obliterated last night and woke up feeling good this morning so it's all good either way

Once I get back I'm going to actually play. I played so little in Macau but had a damned good time. Now I'm traveling from BKK back to Macau overland. After Cambodia do a month in Vietnam then a month in the Yunan in Southern China.

The game is very good. They like to see a lot of flops which is typical for low stakes live cash games and in my 2 sessions I have not seen anybody 3bet pre, not even once. But the money flies around post flop. When I was playing in Macau it was a bunch of nits who play their hands face up. I've noticed at Naga they have a lot more gamble in them, they'll shove draws, missed draws on the river etc. So they put you to a lot more tough decisions than in Macau, but it should be very very profitable, but swingy I'd imagine.

I know somebody that banged 3 local Cambodians in the past week. None were prostitutes
