Did not have a great day on the tables today. I won about $100 online but dropped $400 in the $2-$5 PLO game at the Triple Seven. The table was great as usual but I was pretty card dead and I played a hand badly during the session leading me to tilt and not play all that well. I was pretty tired so I went out to dinner with a friend and had some Korean food as nothing beats comfort food after a bad session. Well almost nothing I suppose as I also went for drinks after dinner and pulled one of my regulars to a great hotel on the Riverside. Rooms aren't that expensive these days given the tourist situation with covid so I got a deluxe room on the top floor with a balcony for only $21. The balcony overlooks the river and is a great place to chill as I'm writing this now sitting outside. I won't keep the room the whole night as I have to head home but for $21 who cares. I'll probably grab lunch with my manager for the $1-$2 game tomorrow then head back in and put in another session in the PLO game.

+1

Boggles my mind every time I hear someone get scammed like this. I can't even begin to imagine the stories someone would need to tell me for me to loan them money - I'm more than happy to say "NO", it's not that hard.

It has been a couple of interesting days this weekend thus far. Yesterday I did not get much of a chance to play $2-$5 PLO at the Triple Seven Club so I mostly just played the $1-$1 PLO game. I did manage to score a profit of $160 so I was happy about that. Later on in the night I would have jumped back into the $2-$5 game but the Chinese boss of the hotel showed up and it would not have mattered if I was number one on the wait list because no one was leaving. I witnessed as this man played every hand, chased every draw and played super aggro to the tune of losing $10K in just about 1.5 hours. I came back today and started in the $1-$1 PLO game and managed a $180 profit in about 3 hours. Then I bought in for the $2-$5 game for $400 and proceeded to get down to a little over $100. Then I caught a rush first with QJJ9 on a flop of 99x then doubled up again with AA8x vs AAxx when the flop came two 8's. I worked the stack up to $735 and finished the night with a total profit of $515. I left to go drinking with some friends when the manager of the room called and asked me to come back as he had left the key for the rake box at home and needed someone to watch the room. I don't officially work there but he's come to trust me at this point and he knows I have experience at this sort of thing. And just as I came back the Chinese boss returned and this time dusted off another $11,600 in two hours. Suffice it to say, no one was getting off this table either. One friend told me that he wanted to go home earlier but that it was impossible that he would ever leave a game like this. My friend who runs the room returned as the boss lost his last couple of thousand and then the game ran a few more hours before breaking at 3:30 AM.

I've been saying for a while now how I consider myself retired from the live game, but I do admit that I missed it. It helps that omaha is a game that I have primarily only played online so the chance to play it live is a new experience for me. The game is certainly more fun and provides more action than hold'em, a game that I rarely play these days whether live or online. In fact the Triple Seven doesn't even run a hold'em game but rather the smaller and bigger omaha games. I just got home as it's about 6:00 AM here in Cambodia. I stayed and talked with the guy who runs the room for a couple of hours after the game broke just to decompress after a crazy night. He asked me if I could come in and help start the $2-$5 PLO game tomorrow and normally I would try and sleep in a bit more given the fact that I'm still awake at this hour. But he's a real stand up guy and I had previously written here about how there are those in this life that deserve our business and he is such a person. And besides, a lot of my former dealers from old Riverking work there and a lot of the same players come by so it's not the worst place to hang out.

My life has developed a bit of a routine lately. I wake up around 11:00 AM and try to spend as much time with the family as possible before heading off to the poker room. I start the $2-$5 PLO game at the Triple Seven around 2:00 PM then jump to the $1-$1 PLO game around 4:00 PM. Then I play until the game breaks and then try to meet up with some friends for drinks before heading home. Today was no different as I broke just about even in the $2-$5 game and then cleared a $225 profit in the $1-$1 PLO game. I haven't hung out with BigBananas as much lately as he's busy grinding online on my clubs and I've been grinding live more. So we got together for a few hours after the game tonight and hit up our favorite spots on street 104. That usually means the Babylon Bar but the girls there actually ended up buying the bar across the street as well and call it, appropriately enough "All-In Bar". My regular wasn't there tonight as she was bar fined by another customer so I hung out with the long time hostess there that every poker player in town knows and loves. I got home early as it's a bit after 3:00 AM currently. I have a meeting at noon tomorrow so I figured I would get some sleep as I also plan on playing more in the room tomorrow.

Hello anyone knows how to get a long term Visa in Cambodia? I've read that the business visa is not easy to get nowadays?

Thank you see you later.

living off <$1000/month as a single person is very easy in most countries as long as you do not enjoy going out to bars and fancy restaurants, dont feel the need to go shopping, and dont not have other types of expensive hobbies. some people just like to hang out at home on the computer.

My apologies for the lack of updates but I've been quite busy playing, drinking and mongering - the usual. Jesus where do I start as there is much to update. Nagaworld reopened in a limited capacity with just the sports book and VIP baccarat tables running. The poker room tables have all been cleared out and replaced by pit game tables, although I am told that is temporary. I have been there a few times and it's still pretty much a ghost town. I go because their 24 hour Chinese restaurant is probably still the best late night option for food. Live poker marches on elsewhere as both the Triple Seven Poker Club and Riverking has games. Full disclosure that I officially work for the Triple Seven as a floor manager. I don't need the money but I really dig the guy who is the operator of the room. He tries to run everything by the book and when I play here it feels like the old Riverking. This might have something to do with the fact that we've basically taken the big omaha game at this point, running as $2-$5 daily. This game is fuc*ing phenomenal! I just finished the week up $2.5K and I don't even play that much considering I have to get up every time the table gets full and I have to jump back in every time it gets weak. Hold'em is dead as disco here and so we don't even bother running it anymore. No need as the omaha game is that good and anyone half capable would print sitting in this game.

Some KTVs have opened back up and oddly enough the businesses that remain closed are Naga and cinemas. Bars are operating with their lights on now although many of them are dead regarding customers. There are not any new people coming in and those who are stuck here are running out of money. I made an observation to my friends the other day that the only people who seem to have money in this town are us poker players as we pretty much rule the night. When we walk into some bars they seem to part the red sea for us and in one place they even give us a discount. I mentioned that KTVs are back open and we headed out to one the other night after the omaha game as the Chinese and Malaysians that invited us picked up the entire $800 tab. We just had to take care of the girls which was a $50 tip just to sit and drink with us. Pontoon is back open as well and we've been there a couple of times. It really sucked a*s the first time as they had just opened back up, but we went a couple of nights back and it seemed much better. I still have more than half a bottle of Jameson there so we'll probably head back. I really hate picking up girls in clubs though so I'll just call one of my regulars down to come and hang out. Better to hang out with one known gold digger rather than having to choose from a sea of them.

It looks like they're going to lift that stupid $3,000 entrance deposit soon so hopefully some of you will finally able to get down here. Poker - good; food - good; girls - good. Basically all good here.

It has been an epic couple of weeks to say the least. I have been playing in the $2-$5 Omaha game at the Triple Seven daily and had my best cash game day ever. I min bought as usual to start the game at 2:00 PM and quickly went up $800 as I won a couple of key pots. Then I sat out a bit as the table filled up and had to give up my seat for customers. I took a dinner break, got a massage in the room then headed back to the table when the big boss of the Chinese hotel that the poker room is situated in came to play. I normally would not have a seat in this game, but one of the Chinese regulars in the game had a quick meeting and asked me to play over his seat as to reserve it for him when he returned. I guess his meeting ran long as I played the entire session with the boss. My stack was already $1,000 at the beginning of this second session but as I had sat out for a few hours I stacked down to $300. The first post I won was an interesting won as my stack had been reduced to about $250. The general strategy of everyone on the table is to limp and wait for the boss to pot. So I did accordingly with KQT9 double suited and predictably the boss pot-raised. A few players called but then I pot-shoved all in and then he pot bet again to get everyone else out and it was heads up just between us. Amazingly enough I took the pot down with just a pair of Kings and my ascent began. I won another huge pot a bit later with KKJT single suited when I flopped a set of Kings then rivered the nuts with a straight. When everything was said and done my initial $200 buy in had turned into a stack of $6,450.

Most days and nights are the same these days but I don't complain. I start the game at 2:00 PM and then play throughout the night in different spots. The poker room itself is a great place to hang out so in between sessions I'll order some food, take a massage or just catch up on work for my online poker agency. Even if the game is going late I will usually leave around 1:00 AM at the latest. Then some friends and I will either hit up the bars on the riverside, Pontoon or a KTV. I brought my Singaporean friend to the bars for the first time and he was quite amazed at how forward the girls are. Girls at KTVs are quite subdued by comparison and when the bar girls started to strip their tops and dance for us he was very surprised to say the least. We don't hit up Pontoon too often but I still have a half bottle of Jameson there so I'll have to go back sometime soon. We'll hit up the KTVs if the Chinese bosses want to hang out after the game. Usually they'll get a room and call us out to join them and pick up the entire tab. These places aren't cheap as the place we went to last night was a total of $900 for the room, drinks and snacks for a total of 7 people. The girls in these establishments are wholly different from the bars and more expensive as well. Just to sit and drink with you will be a tip of $50 to $100. I'm not sure about the bar fine, but to take them out will be a minimum of $200 for short time and be as high as $1,000 as was the case last night.

I've been enjoying life lately as my run good is continuing. I already mentioned the $6K+ night and that's put me up over $10,000 profit in the last 10 days of the month of July. This game is ridiculously soft, one of those tables where you can play freely as everyone is playing so wide. Sit in certain lineups and you're basically printing money. Run good continues online as well as I've picked up some new clubs as an agent and have been able to play in some really soft games. Still no poker in Nagaworld and no word as to when that might change. We often go to the casino to eat but there never seems to be much going on there. And hold'em in this town is nearly all but dead. As Covid slowly passes we'll probably try to bring hold'em back as the Triple Seven just moved into a bigger space in the same hotel. It should fill up as tourists are allowed to return to Cambodia, but for now the $2-$5 PLO game should suffice with action to spare.

Probably. You can't get a visa on arrival and I'd guess you need some information about an employer when applying for a business visa at an embassy.

Does anybody living in Cambodia know a way to obtain a business visa through unethical means? I heard it's very easy to change from tourist to business visa once in the country but I am in the US and looking to move to Cambodia. I don't really feel like moving to Corona infested Mexico. I was living in Vietnam but had to come home because my mother passed away recently. Now...kinda stuck here.

you can usually found a shell company for a very nominal amount and use that to get visas in most countries, in china for example you'll spend more on fees to process the visa than in registering the nonexistent company

It is not possible to change from tourist to business visa. You'd have to leave the country and come back with a business visa. It also isn't even possible to get a tourist visa right now.

I might be interested also in getting an easy business visa for the next year. Let me know if you have any contacts.
