Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Did you have to do anything special to get rid of it?
Are going to play any poker while in PP?

Nothing special. I did take a bunch of vitamin b-12 tablets and ibuprofen just to make my body feel better, but for the dengue itself it's just really fluids and time. I was going to go down to Naga today but ended up meeting up with bigbananas.

Friend of mine had dengue last year and was up and around in four days. Same with another mate a few weeks back. And another friend had a similar reaction to yours where he was at first in the hospital then in bed for quite some time. I can only guess there are different strains or types. All things considered and this being my first time, I feel very fortunate. I got a new apartment in Sihanoukville that I plan to return to in a couple of days. I am planning on stocking it with some food to cook on my own and eat a bit healthier.

Same experience here. For some friends it was a slightly more annoying flu and others really thought they'd die for a week.

The Dengue Serotypes
Dengue infections are caused by four closely related viruses named DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4. These four viruses are called serotypes because each has different interactions with the antibodies in human blood serum.

I had it a few months ago, the initial symptoms and fever wasn’t bad, but I was just completely exhausted for almost two weeks and hardly ever got out of bed. So pretty sucky. I feel like everyone I know who has stayed in Snooky during this summer has had it. ****ing Snooky

Didn't really sleep at all last night so went for a massage nearby at a place called Aziadee Massage & Spa. Ask for Srey Mol, cute little 19 year old if any of you ever go. $10 for the massage and $20 for the girl.

This pretty much sums up my last few weeks in Sihanoukville as I was sick just about every day. I somehow mustered up enough strength each day to get myself to the poker room and managed to play my typical session. I did this until I just couldn't physically do it anymore and the last couple of nights I was basically stuck in my hotel room and couldn't really go out to get food or drinks because of my physical condition and also due to the daily thunderstorms. I couldn't play my 15 days as per the deal that I have with the room but managed to get in 10 days and got them to agree to pay me early for a shorter term. I have basically been back in Phnom Penh for a week now and although the room keeps asking me when I will come back, I still feel a bit weak physically and don't have a great desire to head back at the moment. I had just rented an apartment before I left, but I gave over the lease to a friend of mine who has taken a liking to Snooky as he's killing the games there.

I had mentioned in a previous post that I had my wife sign a lease on a new place by the airport. It's a huge place as it has two stories, a roof terrace that i don't share with anyone and 2 bedrooms + 2 baths for only $250. it's part of some new complex they built out there, a sort of self contained city with restaurants, stores and schools all in a gated community. It's about an hour out of the city, but I don't mind it so much as I didn't want to necessarily raise my kids in the city and if I really need to get into town I'll just hop in a PassApp. I spend most days playing online and I'm getting to the point physically where I can play more hours with each passing day. My last ten days in Sihanoukville started out terribly, but I got most of it back on my last day to finish with a profit. I've basically been playing 5-card omaha online since I've been back in Phnom Penh and I'm finally feeling well enough to play more hours each day. My rakeback and winnings online should put me around $500-$600 for the week and plus what I won in Snooky should tide me over until I can start putting in full sessions again. I'll post my results from both my last ten days live and from online below. For the moment I think I'll stay in Phnom Penh and just come into the city whenever I need to. Sihanoukville is still an option and if my friend reports to me that the games are still gangbusters, then I may be tempted to go back. For now it's back on the online grind and trying to be around for my kids as much as possible.

Been in PP a couple of weeks now and happy to report that life is good, poker is good, no real complaints.

Was fortunate enough to run into poker_triad for a couple of beers, the man lives up to the myth and we had a nice chat, thanks for your time bossman.

It was great meeting you too and thanks for the round of drinks. I always enjoy a whiskey at 5:00 PM Living in Cambodia and turning Pro. We'll have to do drinks or proper diner with our significant others the next time I come into town.

I need to leave Thailand very soon, and thinking Phnom Penh may be a good option to go grind for a few months.

Looking for accommodation where I won't be ripped, just need a room and a desk basically.

Also best internet options if not solid enough at accommodation.

And, any visa hacks or is visa on arrival the std option? Is it easy to renew etc?

If someone could give cliffs or info on this it would be very helpful, and appreciated.

what budget for rent?

Make sure u get a place with generator coz power outs here can be a *****

i use opennet and it works good for me about 1 year now. but heard others have problems with them and all there reviews on google are negative...heard its more about the location of ur building and not really the ISP but duno for sure on that.

get E-visa then have one of the agents extend it to business visa. Triad does it.

Anyone in PP know if Naga spreads 1/2 or 1/3? What is the rake for either game? Does standard 50 buy-in bankroll rule apply for Naga games or is different bankroll required?

Do you need an apartment or a hotel/guesthouse? Most apartments will require a six month lease with a one month deposit. This is probably the best route as even if you don't finish your lease you should save money over staying at a hotel. If you're looking for just a room you can get them as low as $150 per month. I lived in an area called Daun Penh and a single room cost me that much. A good place to start is khmer24.com as many realty agents post there. I used Opennet without issue but as bigbananas said it really can depend on the area. Some have reported satisfaction with Metfone as well. Get the ordinary Visa upon arrival as it'll allow you to extend for six months or one year and will make it easier for you to get a bank account and other things. It's also sometimes called a business Visa and should be $35 upon entry. The extension can technically only be had with a work permit or an employment letter. But there are those who can get you those documents or in my case I can help you get it through without any documentation. I already handle this for a lot of players here in Phnom Penh so just send me a PM if you need the service.

It's $1-$3 and the rake is some weird hybrid. They take 10% capped at $5, but then add 5% levels up to $25 I think.

Thank you for the info.

Sounds like Naga rake is unbeatable. So better to just skip PP and head to Sihanoukville? Is the rake in Sihanoukville beatable without rakeback deals?

What I said about Naga applied about three months ago when Renton was playing there. I was just informed by Yazz that it might be different now. Basically I'm not sure what the rake currently is at Naga. If anyone else would like to chime in on whether my information was correct or not, please do so. And in regards to Sihanoukville the rake has come down a bit lately with the remaining rooms trying to compete with one another. My friend is still down there and is basically playing on no deal and is crushing it.

For those that play poker online I wouldn't worry too much about this. It's geared mainly towards the Chinese who run online baccarat operations for players back on the mainland. I'd also like to point out that prostitution is also illegal in Cambodia and Khmers aren't allowed in Nagaworld Living in Cambodia and turning Pro.

I don't think Cambodia was on the list of Asian countries Party pulled out of. I could be wrong but I remember reading the story and thinking to myself we weren't on it.
