Hi,

The mods have been flexible about advertising poker rooms here in the past, but at least have the decency to disclose that you're working for the room in an official capacity.

Are you Aaron's replacement, then? While you're shilling for Ace, you might as well enlighten us all as to why he dropped off the face of the earth suddenly. You know, for balance.

Regards,

Renton

Yes, I am working with Ace. I clearly list that I am associated with Ace on my profiles as you so kindly pointed out. However beyond providing basic information of the room and updates I am also helping people with their questions about Cambodia ect. This includes mentioning the positives of other rooms and games so people can be kept up to date so I don't appreciate being called a shill.

Aaron left Ace last month before I worked with them he was in talks to join Naga from what I heard.

As far as twoplustwo.com is concerned, you didn't clearly list that you're associated with Ace, I did. Before that you were acting like a random who just happened to know things about the room, i.e. shilling.

While I agree that Lina shouldve made clear earlier that he was working for Ace, I think so far his posts were okish, there was not a lot that could have been viewed as shameless self promotion.
Lina: What is the rake and does the HE game run regularly or is mostly just the old 5/5 or (5/10) Omaha (as in the old RK)? What are the peak times at Ace? Thanks

That isn't where I would choose to lay low, but to each his own.

It's okay, I've added it to my 2+2 profile as well now to make sure no confusion.

The games tend to start a bit later than old RK, most days they are starting at 3pm. Generally they run 1 table of 5/5 Omaha (20 cap) or 5/5, 5/10 Hold'em (20 cap, 25 cap respectively). This last week was 3 days of Omaha around a few big action players and 4 days of Hold'em. The focus right now is just running one mid stakes game consistently. We have a decent mix of old RK regulars and new local players driving the game but there is a lack of consistency that we are working to improve.

Forgive me, but what does the above mean? The straddle cap? That cannot be the buy-in cap....?

Anyone in PP able to take USD for GBP bank transfer/PP/BTC at XE rate tonight? Won't be a huge amount, likely 500-2k. Will buy a beer or pay a small amount of vig as you'd be saving me taking it all to Malaysia where it's useless.

I had a stroll down to Naga (1?) yesterday to check out the poker room. It was too early for there to be any games running, but with 4 tables & pretty staff it looks decent enough. The aforementioned foreigners trying to make deals and Chinese colluders sounds a little off-putting, though; definitely not cricket!

I will be looking at some apartments tomorrow in the Russian Market & BKK areas, but if anyone has any hot tips for buildings with small (can even be tiny), fresh, modern apartments - $200 or so - kindly let me know.

- Cheers once again.

PS. I watched the Macgregor vs Khabib UFC fight a couple of weeks ago at the Score sportsbar with a Russian guy I met at my guesthouse. Oddly enough we were both cheering for the Irishman. Very impressed with the bar. Brilliant atmosphere and a huge ****ing screen - about 2 stories high.

Riverking has a 1/3 game during the daytime that ranges from pretty meh to pretty **** good depending on who wanders in from other poker rooms. Free food and drink helps make the rake slightly more stomachable too.

Cheers, buddy. I'll bear that in mind.

I've just been trying to call red fox to see if they have a tourney tonight, and what time, but the 5 phone numbers I found all seem to be out of date.

Brilliant. Thanks. I know it was probably already posted in this thread, but a little fiddly trawling through on a phone.

Had $1500 stolen from my bag in a massage shop yesterday, I also had a 7k watch and 2k in another currency in there which they didn't take. Obviously I am a huge idiot but still very annoying. Lesson learned.

Have you been to the police?

There was a story a while back on one of the Cambo expat forums, one Chinese guy I think it was was $8k out of pocket and ended up getting it returned after going to the police who went back to the shop with him. So it might not be a completely lost cause, of course you'd have to pay them for their 'troubles' but it wouldn't be $1500!

Don't let them just get away with it, even if it is probably just your word against theirs.

Hi

I will be traveling to Phnom Penh in November. This thread is a little hard to follow so, the PLO action runs mainly at Poker Ace now? Are there other PLO games at River King, and what stakes, and where is River King situated now?

Also does anybody have recommendations for accomodation close to Poker Ace and-or Riverking?

Any info is appreciated
Thank you

Both rooms run a 5/5 PLO game sporadically, generally a few times a week.

Ace and RK are both on the opposite sides of town, so something like this could be most convenient to access Ace, RK1, and Naga. https://www.agoda.com/home-chic-hote...-penh-kh.html?

Warning - cross post with Thailand

I am in need of major dental work, I am talking an extraction, a bridge, two implants and a few fillings on top of that.

I know I could find dental recommendations by doing a search, but I was wondering if any of you guys have had work of this magnitude done in Cambodia - and even better if you had completely been knocked out by general anesthesia - and could give me a referral...

I would greatly appreciate any strong leads. I am in Indonesia now, but I am planning on traveling to Thailand or Cambodia to get my teeth done in about 3 weeks.

Cambodia would be far better for me because I could grind live poker while antibiotics are activating or in-between procedures, etc. But my intuition tells me that Thais are more advanced in the dental arts as a rule..

While the medical professional still needs some catching up, there are plenty of good dentists in Phnom Penh. It's been a while but his is the last place I went and it comes highly recommended:

Roomchang Dental Hospital

No. 4, Keo Chea (St. 184), Sangkat Phsar Thmey III, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh 12210

If you play in any of the private games, go speak to one of the managers and they should be able to help. When I ran Riverking we always had someone with the police on sort of standby. The massage thing is pretty common and the last time a player got robbed in such an instance he lost about $500 and we were able to get about $300 back for him. Not the whole amount but better than nothing and the player was quite relieved to get that back.
