The service came into Sihanoukville recently. So the service exists but there are few cars around. So you're going to have trouble hailing them in certain areas and also during late hours.

I'm going to be in Sihanoukville in January and am looking for recommendations for a nice, girl friendly hotel in a good (quiet) location in the $50-$60 USD per/night range. A nice pool is a must!

Thanks,

Larry

Lot of players I know stay at the Beach Club right behind Bao Mai. It's a mid tier hotel with a pool for about $35 per night. Bao Mai has a nice pool but is just above the price range you stated.

Beach club looks pretty good, thanks! Is it in a good spot with regards to bars/girls/nightlife?

It's close to a few spots, but the girlie bar area has now moved a bit away from everything. Hit me up when you're here. I'd be glad to show you around.

Are the Chinese already losing interest in Sihanoukville? On a face book page there is someone giving away a bar on serendipity road, it didn't take too long for the chinese to do what they do lose interest. FREE BAR on Serendipity road Moonlight bar

went overkill and got the 35mb business connection from opennet, $78/month fast AF and never drops, only problem i had was on the first day it dropped like 2 hours after the tech came to my room...called support and they sent out a different dude like 5 hours later and he fixed it said the last guy ****ed it up lol.

if ur going to PP and gonna grind a ton u should get one of the business packages imo, prob don't have to buy anywhere close to 35mb speed tbh but i was scared coz all the google reviews are bunch of ppl complaining about they 6mb connections.

Is the Place fitness center like the only legit gym with squat/power rack? i went to smart fitness the other day and its ok, i don't mind to go there but would rather pay extra and go to place with newer equiptment

Muscle fitness center in BKK3 is 33 a month and is afaik the only gym in town with two power racks. No Aircon though.

That was from Renton555 as I don't much about gyms nor fitness. But he's a freak about it so I'd probably take his advice.

Hi all, so i will be comign to cambodia phnom penh in few days since this is more or less only thread i found about cambodia have couple of questions.
Ive read last 20 pages or so on here and i am kinda confused about which poker rooms operate. Some rk1 or rk? ONly room i found online is naga casino. Can someone give me adresses of poker rooms i am just looking at 1/2 nl games.
As far as i got it naga sucks because it has high rake and bad dealers but they have some comp program? And that rk is better because of food/promotions but they have worse games? Feel free to correct me like i said i got confused last 20 pages or so. Cheers

Edit: also if anyone is up for a drink hit me.

Rk is closed, the owner opened a new room called poker ace somewhere south of Naga, you can find the address ITT. I've not been in town since it opened but I assume they run 1/3 NL as do the other places (no 1/2 NL anymore).
Rk1 is open and near Pontoon nightclub, address should also be ITT
Naga gives you a food voucher after 5 or 6 hrs of playing, no other comps.
Games can be good or bad at either place
Ah yes, and there's the red fox game but thats just a BS 25c/25c (20$ fixed buyin) dealers choice game (usually 6 card omaha or badugi) running late at night sometimes with no proper poker table or chips and everyone drunk/stoned off their tits and never folding. But it's something different

I feel more safe walking out the Clubs then walking out Naga with all the TukTuk Drivers waiting for you at the Exit - They exactly know, that youre coming out of a Casino and probably have some money with you.

Seriously, Poker Ace and RK1 are amazing and 100% safe Clubs in PP.
I was playing there for weeks.
Free Food, Free Drinks, "good" Rakeback in both Clubs (4 hours play = 30$ + Highhand + Randow Highhand Cash Draw).
Everyone is friendly and imo both Clubs are just nicer compared to the unfriendly and rude staff in Naga.

+ Chairs / Cards / Dealers / Floorman in Naga are the worst.

btw, both Clubs have private Facebook-Groupchats, where they post almost every hour about current action.
Floorman in both Clubs will invite you into those groups after you walked in the first time.

The poker scene in Sihanoukville seems interesting and worth a look. However, unlike the rest of Asia, it also seems there are very limited accommodation options except for staying out at Otres, does anyone have a link to any operation that can arrange a 1/2 month apartment in Sihanoukville town proper?

Riverking have a few promotions that require you to be there by 12 so the $1-3 Holdem game always starts before 12... Usually 11.30 - 12

And yes, Naga doesn't start until 7 or 8pm

Last weeks some 2/5+ regs from snooky came into PP games. It seems it's not going well down there. I heard even rumors Bao Mai will close.

Btw regarding visa
Best way imo is the EG Visa. It's 6 month multi entry (so 7 months with the ordinary visa on arrival). It cost around 165-185$ depending on the agency. Pretty hassle free.
The visa also helped me with opening a bank account at ABA as a proof that I am pretty much a resident.

Thanks Barney, I have a retirement visa for Cambodia as I live there. I was interested to learn about the poker in Sihanoukville but appears that there may not be the number of poker rooms there that were published about earlier. I found in PP the large amounts being waged each hand forced me to fold too often due to uneven buy ins
