Seems like fate has decided the issue for me, at least for tonight. It doesn't look like I'll be getting out of the poker room any time soon. Did I mention the girl is deaf? I'm not sure if that adds or detracts from the situation. I think it's the former but I'm not sure why. I took a cross eyed girl home once. That was really fun, but for more obvious reasons.

Thanks, that's cool to hear. I used to be pretty good at hold'em....

Don't get too down. Who could have known that Chinese guy had 83 for the full house vs your AA? Still, you could have folded river fish.

Renton, sounds like your running pretty bad, but I'm guessing you'll be changing your tune after playing Snooky poker for a while!

Also PSA for anyone looking for lodging in Phnom Penh, there's a massive hotel that just opened up behind NagaWorld called the Bridge Club that is basically the nuts. You get a very nice room (w/ fridge, microwave, safe etc) with sick views overlooking the city, plus two pools and a fitness center and the price? $23 a night lolol. Best value in Phnom Penh fo sho.

Yea, it's pretty sweet. The negative for some would be that it has a very clinical feel to it, it's more like an apartment complex, so once you check in you just go straight up to your room w/o seeing the reception. Which is perfectly fine with me. And obv that's a plus if you're taking back a girl. But if you like all the smiles and hellos from the staff and chatting them up and asking what to do around town, then you're not gonna find that here.

I'm def gonna rail a girl in that red chair overlooking the city one of these nights that I don't play poker till 6am...

You run so good when it comes to finding a place to live. I remember that first place you found.

Jspill, there's plenty of nice luxury hotels in PP, but I've never seen something like this at this price point. $23/night is just crazy town. I'd assume its because they just opened and are trying to undercut the market.

And they're building high rise luxury condos/apartments in this city like mad. Those are also going to excellent value soon because they're building too many and the demand just isn't there.

Yea, until the jackhammers started outside at 6am!

And I did just spend 10 weeks in Snooky living in a glorified prison cell hotel room for $25/night

Have you ever been to the barang ghetto? I know we call it that but that's just tongue and cheek and the places Jerry rents out to us are quite nice. He hasn't raised rents like everyone else in town and everything works. I wished we talked more about this as I've put like four players in units in the area. But then again, I know you like to live two weeks at a time Living in Cambodia and turning ProLiving in Cambodia and turning ProLiving in Cambodia and turning Pro.

Yeah, already experiencing a big difference. The spew factor in games down here is just turnt up. I have folded the best hand more times than I care to admit. Once I adjust (mainly by calling down in spots where I fold to the Phnom Penh nit crowd), I expect I will do very well in these fishy games.

^You folded way too much in PP too

Yeah plenty of nice hotels in PP, there appear to be some wrong stereotypes there, but they are all in $50+ range, at that price it's pretty unbeatable...

I stayed at the comfort starII the first few nights I was back here because I left some luggage there and they bumped their rates up to $25 a night. GTFO. I do miss that in house steam/sauna/massage though.

I always go back to the massage place on every trip back. And I always get girl #2 because all she does is rub my inner thigh for one hour.

I'll often stay at the Comfort Star myself if I need a room for a night out of convenience, but will probably stop doing that to avoid any awkward moments of running into any of the bongs from original Riverking. My two favorite places to stay when in town are the One Up Banana Hotel in BKK1 and Frangipani Living Arts Hotel in Russian Market. Both are excellent boutique type hotels and the latter has a pool and a rooftop bar. I've always booked at both places for $25 a night or under so they're great deals as well.

It didn't take long as it's now confirmed that a new slew of bars are opening just above the downtown area. They're even calling it the New Square. It'll be interesting to see if it's just the same Square moved over or something completely new. I'll report on it as soon as it opens I'm sure.

I finally made it out to the beach a couple of days ago as a friend needed to pick something up at Otres. I was reminded of why I like living here so much. I really do need to get some trunks though.

I'm leaving Phnom Penh soon, but I'd like to leave my big backpack here for a couple of months while I've gone. If anyone living in PP has room in their closet or wherever, let me know, thanks!

Yes Riverking 1 still has 1/3 Holdem everyday, most days 2 tables will run.. yesterday had two 1/3 tables, one 5/5 and one $10 Ante, all holdem ^^

The new Riverking is located on St 172.. The old RK in Comfort Star is apparently moving location at the start of next month and changing the name etc..

No.. RK1 is the newer room, which is on St. 172, near Pontoon club.. The old RK is the one at Comfort Star, which will be changing name and location in a few weeks
