Is it guest house or guesthouse, it is like pussy lips, I like to spread them.
Crammed into a guesthouse living with with other poker players 24/7 in the tropics sounds like hell

Vegas is much different/more packed than it was even a few years back. Lived here since 2006 and the city has grown exponentially, seems like its always in the top 10 fastest growing cities for the past few years now. Not sure if you're trying to imply that Snooky is bigger and has more poker players than Vegas but ill just laugh now at the thought of you thinking that lol.

IF you are so bad that you end up playing nl/plo 200 for a living in Cambodia the "talking strategy" simply isn't on your daily /weekly/monthly to do list.
They would be probably a lot more happy with accomodation next to girly bar or sth.

With the influx of Chinese here guesthouses don't really have much incentive to be giving discounts and special rates. It would be kinda fun if there was a common hotel/guesthouse where poker players tended to stay though.

i generally go out of my way to avoid them, but from what i'm hearing the town almost caters exclusively to them now.
Well the main beach road still has a few backpacker bars that the Chinese don't really go to. It wouldn't surprise me if they all get bought out and knocked down in the next few years though. And there aren't too many Chinese a few kilometers away in Otres beach. That's about it I think.

I counted 25 poker rooms on Bravo in Vegas and there are at least two that aren’t on Bravo.

thank you.

i search for sihanoukville hotels and all the $15-20 per night rooms i'd get a few years ago are basically booked solid. i guess they're just booked solid with chinese tourists or groups.

do the little bars and restaurants (like dolphin) on serendipity beach still exist?

For a room with aircon nowadays the cheapest you'll find is $25/night and that's in a mediocre type guesthouse.

That row of beach shacks have all been knocked down! Right now it's just rubble. Dolphin, JJ's, etc are no more. Utopia is gone too. Now everyone just goes to Jack Daniels if you want to party past 2am.

Sorry for the lack of updates but I've been in the room basically from opening until closing everyday. We weren't that busy the first couple of days but we've still managed to spread at least one table every day. We're literally having to start all over with no branding. What we do have is a really nice space with a fraction of the rent that everyone else pays. Considering what everyone else pays, it's no wonder that some of the rake I've seen lately is completely ridiculous; $25 caps on $1-$3 games and $40 on $2-5 games.

We're running very small right now as it's mostly $1-$1 and some $1-$2. But like I said I'm ecstatic that we've managed to not be dark since we opened under the new ownership. We're starting to build some real momentum and developed a nice base of regulars. Our idea of running the room as a cooperative is gaining traction as well as the owner has sold off 10% already and we continue to meet with other players about their possible involvement.

The housing situation here has become difficult but I managed to find a studio for $280 per month. One of the poker players let me take over the room when he left, but of course I'll have to find a bigger spot once my girlfriend moves down here. Haven't done much in the way of nightlife lately as I've been in the poker room most of the time. I've still managed to get to the Square here and there as our new owner owns a bar there. We had a really good night tonight so about to go home at 6:00 AM and leave my dealer, partner and one of the new 5% shareholders as they continue to play OFC.

Hi.

I'm a long time lurker of this thread and you may know me from my posts in the Mid-stakes Full Ring and Health and Fitness forums. I have recently taken over the management of the Riverking Poker Club in Phnom Penh from my great friend poker_triad. We continue to cooperate with his Bao Mai poker room and he remains invaluable to our enterprise even as he is no longer a colleague.

I'll talk more about myself in a later post, but I'm happy to answer any questions you all may have about the current poker landscape in Phnom Penh and my vision for Riverking.

Just one question. Can you teach the girls in your bar to give a proper handy? If you're successful I may just move back to Phnom Penh.

I finally was able to get out of the Bao Mai poker room as we had a bit of an early night. Wanting to get drunk I headed out with one of the Chinese partners and a couple of the players. Hanging with the Chinese we usually won't go somewhere like the Square, but rather end up at a KTV on most night. We went to an interesting place by Skyline Club that basically looks like a KTV from the outside. Even when you walk in there is a huge lobby filled to the brim with girls waiting to be called as a part of a lineup. But upstairs they have what's basically a club in which they present the girls in various lineups. But just above the floor they have a stage where they feature Russian go go dancers, performing all night every 20 minutes. The nightlife here still isn't up to par with Phnom Penh but it's definitely coming up and the Chinese are making things more interesting.

Both the Chinese partners and I took girls from the Khmer lineup, girls we had taken before to "cultivate". Whenever he uses that term he means girls we have to fu*k to properly teach and prepare for potential clients. But my girl was properly drunk from whatever party she was with before so didn't feel like taking her home. And she was annoying for an additional tip above the $30 I already paid. She probably would have passed out anyway. I got a brief shot of her dancing, but she saw the camera and told me to not film her out of fear that I would post it online. Seems like she knows me well already.

Snooky

I've tried to get in there twice now with my other white friend and both times we've been told "it's full" while Chinese guys just walk on in. Pretty weak.

Ohhh damn, I was thinking that was Skyline club.

I've tried to get into skyline club twice now and they won't let us in.

I'll have to figure out where that place is!

Just wait until Casa opens and then you can not be allowed in there as well.

Once they close down JD's and the Big Easy I'm gonna have nowhere to go. Time to become a hippie in Otres Village!

Yes, maybe somewhat like me at hold'em tonight. Thin value raising the river. Probably forgot this is not something to do. Luckily the friendly drinking guy just called.
