It must be high season because we had four games today; our regular $1-$3 hold'em game, a $2-$5 hold'em game and both the $1-$2 and $5-$5 Omaha games. The bigger hold'em game was a welcomed site as it running signals the return of the busy season. Players were eager to jump in as we had a good lineup to start the game and we capped the rake at $5 just like the other hold'em game. The $5-$5 Omaha game has also received a boost as of late with the return of a certain whale that most who have played in our room should know. He's played everyday this week and if his return is permanent it should only mean good things for a game that already has a pretty ridiculous lineup.

I got off my shift at 7:00 PM and headed to dinner with my girlfriend and a friend/player from the Riverking. He found this great Chinese spot that's not too far from where we live. We ordered way too much then after eating we went to a 24 hour Korean cafe just across the street. The place reminded me of hanging out in Korea Town in Los Angeles and I admit it was nice to hang out in a place free of booze and working girls (did I just say that?).

But that feeling didn't last that long as we met one of the former shareholders of Riverking who was visiting for the weekend. This is one of the greatest guys I know and it's not just because he picks up the tab each time. We meet up with him at street 104 then headed down to 136. I swear to god, you get a girlfriend and all of a sudden every girl wants you to take her home.

Agreed. No alcohol and extras can be nice at times.

Very nice. Looks like this is the perfect time to be heading over to your area!

We accept USD and are able to do exchanges for most world currencies. In the cases where we cannot we refer you to a well known money changer nearby. We also accept Bitcoin and Ethreum at 2% for chips. The lowest hold'em game is $1-$3 with a min-max of $100 to $500 and the lowest Omaha game is $1-$2 with the same buy ins.

Long time reader first time poster - this thread is awesome.
Thanks PT for all the insides you provide on the poker scene of a city that I find incredibly seducing and yet raw - keep it up, I hope to come and check RK out first hand soon!

Sorry but the poker room has been absolutely slammed the last couple of weeks. Omaha has been going late every night and the hold'em game has been going about twenty hours a day, giving us just a few hours in between shifts. Amazingly enough though I've still managed to go out drinking just about every night but haven't had the time to post and the girls seen really shy lately. Every time I bring out my phone they turn their heads. I doubt they've found this thread but perhaps they discovered the Riverking Instagram page and my reputation is starting to precede me. I've only got the one video down below. One thing I did want to get into is the emergence if ride sharing apps here in Phnom Penh. There are several local ones, with the main ones being Uber and one called Passapp. These services are rather impressive given that we're still in the infancy stage of their development here. I'll get into it more later, but I haven't used a tuk tuk in over a week.

Another reason I haven't posted a lot is.... my girlfriend is pregnant! Although I have a daughter now, this will be my first biological child at the ripe young age of 43 years. I'll post more on this later but we've just slowly started to tell everyone.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I really appreciate it. Had a fun night out with the boys tonight and just got back. Some real good footage too as I got some new hardware. I'll put it together and post tomorrow as it's 4:30 AM now and I have to open the room in the morning.

We weren't really trying to have one, but then again we weren't really preventing it either. Let's just call it an eventuality that we knew would happen. I'm scared to death, but in a good way I suppose.

Congrats on the news, Triad! Although the thread has slowed down I'm sure everyone you've given so much entertainment over the past two years supports you and is happy for you man!

PS - if the baby is a boy, name it either Phil Ivey or Daniel (after Negreanu) guaranteed stud. if female, Liz (after Boeree) or Samantha (after Abernathy), guaranteed beauty. That Korean/Cambodian mix is gonna be something

Thanks for the well wishes. I already have a name picked out for a boy but still mulling over what to name the baby if it's a girl. Truth be told I told my girlfriend that twins run in my family so maybe it'll be both. She's horrified of that thought and is even praying for that not to be the case lol.

About the posts on this thread slowing down, having a girlfriend has a lot to do with that of course. But in actuality she's really cool about me going out to the bars at night. Sometimes she'll come along as she knows a lot of my friends by now or if I tell her I just need a night out with the boys she's cool about that too. Like many girlfriends here who are dating foreigners, she's told me on countless occasions that I can be with other girls as long as I don't throw it in her face. And now that she's pregnant, she's reminded me that this is more so the case. I haven't taken her up on any of this (yet???) but I admit it is in the back of my mind every time I go out.

Another reason the posts have slowed down is that girls just don't want to get filmed it even have their picture taken. So I bought a great little camera that I opened back in the day from HTC called the RE Camera. I don't understand why these never caught on. Perhaps it's the creep factor as Yazzx pointed out as they don't look like cameras. So now I can just set these on the tables and shoot away and no one is the wiser.

I had a chance to test out the camera a couple of nights ago as some of us went to Oktoberfest. I was quite surprised at how many people turned up. But I guess it shouldn't be a surprise as Cambodia is a beer loving country much like Germany.

Then we headed over to a bar on 130 and I got to use the camera there although Yazzx forgets this and obstructs the view for a bit. We went to a couple more bars before I called it a night on street 104. The girl in the last video has an amazing body; no body fat whatsoever - can bounce a quarter of that ass! I had to swipe out the audio in the last one as a free personal details came up during conversation.

Phnom Penh Trip Report

I stayed at RiverKing 3 nights. My first impression of the city and area on the first night was negative due to difficulties with communication and coming from BKK which is far more developed.

However, my attitude toward PP improved after my first night and kept improving to the point where I really loved PP overall. It seems English proficiency among locals is either zero or great with little in between. Similarly, some locals will not help you much, and others will go far out of their way to help as much as possible.

The accommodations and poker at RiverKing are excellent. To Mike, Wayne, and everyone else at RiverKing, thank you so much. You couldn't have been more helpful.

Food, drinks, and general chillness at RiverKing are all great. Particularly, the burger you can order from the hotel is delicious; I think I ate three within 24 hours. Steak is decent, Caesar salad is ok, stir fry chicken and rice is great.

Games were always running when I checked and they were friendly and fun. I played three sessions and lost about half a buyin - no big deal. The players are a great group.

Went out with the guys one night and had a blast at the bars. It was my first time in any sort of scene like that, and it's what I expected (in a good way).
