Yourself, a Passport, maybe another ID and $$ to deposit. Starts with an Ra and ends with "bank".

Did have to stick around/come back to pick up the accompanying debit card though.

Nope. Though no harm in emailing ahead of time to confirm what's needed, and set up an appt. when actually going.

I've opened bank accounts in prague several times and I dont remember having to prove I was there long term.

When I first came to prague I opened an acct at raiffeisen with no proof of address and just my passport (US). I did have an apartment there though so I had an address to give.

I'd recommend FIO bank over raiff though, seems their fees are less.

Thanks for suggestion. Will call FIO bank and ask them if they will make me account or maybe I just need to go to Prague and go around different branches and hope to get bank account.

The bank you called worked for me opening an accot the same day back in October. Had emailed them before. Maybe they changed policy, maybe it's just variable depending on whom you talk to/what day. The latter is somewhat common in my personal experience opening bank accounts in 3 different countries and comparing experiences with other people.

Also, the Czech gambling laws are set to change significantly in January, which may cause French and/or international sites to pull out. Sounds like nothing is set in stone yet, but the risk makes it less a attractive banking spot than before.

Received e-mail from Raiffeisenbank and they said that I can open bank account.
Going to Prague next week. How long does raiff and FIO banks opened accounts for You?
Now planing to arrive Monday morning and to leave Wednesday evening. That would be enough time?

They should open it same day, but the attached debit card took close to a week to process. You may be required to pick it up in person.

Asked the teller to courier it to me several times (i.e. at my cost), but she acted confused each time, and kept asking when I'd be in Prague again to pick it up. Finally just said I'd be back in exactly a week and did a same-day, round-trip train run to get the card.

Thanks for info. I am on a bit tight schedule and can not stay 1 week in Prague.
Hope will be able to figure something out with bank about card. I don`t really need it tho, I just need account to get withdrawals from winamax and send them to my other EU bank account or Thai bank account.
Thanks for all the info, been very helpful.

If anyone is interested just came from Prague and opening bank account was very easy.
EU citizen and needed just passport.
First went to raiffeisenbank and opened account there. Only needed passport but guy asked reason for what i need bank account. Luckily he knew something about poker and understood I need it for french sites.
However 129 Kč monthly fee and they asked 15k Kč minimum monthly deposits to my bank account otherwise they would close account.

Then went to Fio banka. Also needed just passport. No monthly fees, no minimum deposits and no questions asked and after 15 minutes I had account there.
After that went back to Raiff and closed account there.

I think Raiff had 1% fee for international transactions but Fio have 0.5% fee (200 Kč minimum) if I understand correctly.
So as Pinkmann before posted Fio seems better option.

Getting a triple currency account and investment account set up in CZ was basically the easiest thing ever when I did that a while ago (usa citizen). Props to that country.

try www.leupay.eu

I am from Serbia but that is bank settled on Malta, after SEPA deal i couldnt use skrill and neteller card anymore, but leupay saved me totally and best part is that it works like a bank account, not as wallet, so you can withdraw your money from winamax there and not pay your taxes DDDDDDD

According to https://www.offshorecorptalk.com/thr...47/#post-53964:
"Leupay (Satabank PLC platform for MT IBAN or UniCredit Bulbank for BG IBAN) is a very good service (SEPA, SWIFT, Mastercard, Merchant, Internal Transfer and other services). Leupay is based in Malta and reports automatically clients and account information to the tax authorities (CRS). "
