if you come from an EU country, no problem going to the Canary Islands. You don't even need a visa. the cost of living is quite low, a pack of branded cigarettes is € 3, local ones are even less than € 2. you can live easily with 1000/1200 per month, then obviously it depends on the lifestyle. Rent is the most expensive expense, a studio apartment can be found for € 600/650, a room for € 400.
