I been to goa for 5days, not an expert, the beaches are okay there nothing compared to the beaches of thailand or some other countries. the main beaches are super busy during high season anyway and people always try to sell you stuff every 5mintues. however there are many beaches in goa so it wont be hard to find a quiet beach,but they might not have sun beds or anything.
I liked goa and would visit again, the only problem i had was that it is sooo dirty, much like the rest of india, you cant go more then 200 meters without seeing garbage everything.
As for night life, its almost all foreigner based
