Croatia also has a new digital nomad visa, so a lot easier for non-Euro poker players or others who earn money independently to stick around for a year.

first reality check accomplished

yesterday I was at a free underground rave (techno) at the abandoned Hartera Paper Factory

I was there from 1 to 4 am

location: the setup was in the open arcadiums of the some hundred+ years old factory next to the rijeka - river, the perfect location for a city rave

crowd: approx. 500ppl id guess, mostly around 20, no underage, some international, all super relaxed, nobody wore masks, lots of hanging out, drinking & chatting in front / at riverside, moderate drug use id say (no real idea though)

sound / sound system: for a free party the system was quite ok (enough pressure / bass, a bit muddy though), solid techno played, some great, the djs a bit too ambitious though - often by breaking the vibe (imho) with too much button clicking & screwing

drinks: no alcohol sale after 22 in croatia still, no drinks sold at location at all - people brought loads themselves though

police: the chkd some cars some hundred meters before the location (one way street), but generally just seemed to hang out there, no police at the venue at all (at least till 4 when I left)
