Piglet/baby boar heading into Willmington N.C, don't worry that beast was fenced in.

[IMG][/IMG]

All these were from the same area, shot of the big horned (goat?) was fenced in with little piggy and is a bit out of focus but sometimes you keep the shot just because it was a special memory.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

kind of miss the farmland of our atlantic coastal plain, very good riding not lots of traffic and just stunning especially around 6-sundown

Riding on a tandem is great fun; you can pick people up using a bicycle like Scott did for me this evening at the RedCoach FSU stop.

Scott has an old friend Kevin who survived some serious cancer a few years back that almost killed him and left him without the full use of the right side of his body, he used to ride road races competitively and still loves riding enough that he found a way to do it on this recumbent bike that gives him the stability he needs to ride safely. He was working on it when we got back and was happy to show it off.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

He let me sit on it to pose for a photo, hope he lets me ride it for the few day's I'll be here at Bicycle House exploring Tallahassee area and waiting for him to overhaul my bike.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Later on we met up with another friend of theirs Nikko who is a professor/researcher of Oceanography at UF who has been around the world studying the sea, he had a really nice black 3 speed cruiser that he had built and put together quite nicely. Even had a bell which to me is essential on a bike.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Gonna use the tools here at Bicycle House tomorrow to start working on the bike so Scott can finish off whatever technical wrenching it will need, looking to leave maybe Monday or Tuesday.

Gunpowder Falls State Park, I came across a small village of Gnomes with a trailside honor system snack and beverage station where you could get snacks for 0.50 centstand drinks for $1, got myself some peanut butter on cheese cracker treats that were very tasty. York Heritage trail going south of York PA runs about an old working (in some sections rail line) its almost 50 miles of trails along some of the most beautiful scenery taking you about 17 miles from the hostel international I stayed at in downtown Baltimore. Lot of historical sites, great preserved architecture, wildlife, and not many cars at all here is a link to most of the ride: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/York...m3!1i0!2i0!3i0

It's such a great ride anyone in the mid-atlantic who enjoys cycling should definitely ride all or part of it.

Sometimes you see really weird things in Florida back on a tour I did in 2008 ran across a walrus dog that was sitting on an ice chest outside of a gas station somewhere in Key Largo while her owner was getting a brown bag special inside to drink outside in the noonday sun.

Liked the sign on the RV at the KOA a few miles south of Fredricksburg.

[IMG][/IMG]

My campsite at KOA, pretty steep at $30 but it had nice facilities and was a good place for pitching a tent in the forest.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

They even had a mini sluice mine operation for semi precious stones and gems that are I believe from the area.

[IMG][/IMG]

Ride to the KOA through Fredricksburg and the famous battleground there with artillery positions, bunkers, trenches, fences, and other reminders of the Civil War on Lee Drive

Crossing the Rappahannock into town

My good friend Jeff Keller from basketball games and bike riding back home with his dog Buford who I stayed with at his family's home 16 south of town in Chesterfield at their awesome home with his very nice parents and Grandma. And another dog named poppy.

I have a few from the ride thru Richmond to stay with Jeff for two nights area to post that I don't think I shared.

Crossing the James on 161 I think it was, narrow road fast cars and pedestrians on the sidewalk.

As me and Neely (one of the lead volunteers mechanics at Bicycle Haus) were leaving Scott was getting ready to take Beauty out for a little ride

Some pictures of my guided tour of Tallahassee

Live oak, maybe 1/2 the size of angel oak near charleston

This is a cool spot where people can write about things they want to do before dying, Neelys is pictured here

[IMG][/IMG]

My buddy Jesse Bogarts old nickname for me think goodfellas

Stopped by Joes bike shop and picked up a nice heavy duty lock to supplement my mini kryponite link lock.

They have some serious Bronze statues here in Tallahassee, Osceola the princess warrior.

[IMG][/IMG]

Neely is super cool and has done some smaller tours before, we are in talks to ride together down to PDC. He needs some time to settle things out here before leaving and I'm happy as a clam hear at the Bicycle House with Scott who said I can stay indefinitely (was he serious?). Should have a better idea when the departure date is too continue but I will try and throw some pictures at you guys when they are worth sharing.

Charlie doesn't seem to mind wearing it

The cat with no name who Scott kicks out every night. He comes to the window when I'm up late meowing and begging to be let in.

When Kevin rides to bicycle house to volunteer we try to ride with him back convoy style for his safety, he could do it himself (rides here that way) but dude is just to precious lose.

Short video of us riding Kevin home, since he has to be so upright the balance on his trike isn't ideal and taking corners can be risky. He has dumped the bike twice since getting it

Kevin used to be head chef at a prestigious club in the area and back in the area and in the 70's followed the Grateful Dead around with some friends in a station wagon. Short video of us riding him the 3 miles back to his house.

Kind of dark but me and Neely came across this guy at the end of our tour around Tallahassee, he was drunk out of his mind and a former client/customer of the Bicycle House. His bike that he received from the Bike House was locked up nearby and he was panhandling for change at this major intersection. Told me the cops couldn't do ish because he was a "performer" and was dancing for the tips, I couldn't get a good shot but he did some moves for me as the light we were waiting for went green. Sad but true 2+2 this is what drug/alcohol abuse will do if you play around long enough.

Scott crafted this wicked mat out of old tubes for a doormate, but both dogs seem to love it as a place to crash. Focus market, how much would you pay for this product?

To beat me
Up, now he gets to meet bubba. Home stitches to come, I have a nice cut on my brow that may require more than a butterfly bandage

I might have to give this cat a name sometime soon because Scott is such a dog lover that he treats the cat like a goddamn second class citizen. As a cat person just can't have that, so yesterday I'm out back washing a stinky garbage can and I hear a steady set of meows, usually a sign that cat is trapped somewhere or needs assistance. Look all over can't find the source, finally look up at the barn/garage outback and see
This

Cat is just messing with me from his hidey hole perch, obviously he can get back down if he got up there.

Saw cat again today on my morning walk of beauty and Charlie, snapped this great shot of beauty

Since the E.R I'm waiting at has great wifi and I've got time to kill let me get you some shots from my fairly enjoyable trip to get stitched up.

Also the injury stems from me telling some guy at the pool hall to stop being a jerk to this girl, his response was a sucker punch followed up with a head butt to my brow which is what opened me up.

Filed a police report and all that, have a solid witness and apparently they have had problems with this guy before and know his full name so I'm pretty sure he will be in county sometime soon.

Power to the people

Getting passed by a whole bunch of diesel, always a rush

I can empathize with people that have to stand in the hot Florida sun on blistering hot asphalt, people holding signs make for good photos.

Mom has an American bulldog name Brer Rabbit that we all love very much so when I saw this fine specimen on the way had to ask the owner for a photo, she kindly obliged.

Meet Tebow

Here is Brer/bear rabbit my mums dog

A happy jogger

Palm reading after I get stitched

So at first I went to a walk in urgent care center thinking they would be the fastest, but upon seeing my cut and considering this happened last night she told me to go to ER for the best sewing and antibiotics. Lucky for me the ER was on the way back towards bicycle house

Tis merely a flesh wound

Er where I'm typing this
About to get stitched, not a long wait at all

Me and my bandage I got at patients first urgent care at the ER entrance

Post stitch image pending

Doctor's assistant Carlos did a masterful job sewing me up, didn't have to wait much more than an hour and a half. Learned a valuable lesson that alcoholic people shouldn't get drunk and hang out in bars that resemble "Roadhouse" on a rowdy Saturday night. On top of that sober sometimes I have a hard time filtering myself so that's why I was playing white knight with strangers, leading to me getting assaulted.

On the ride home from surgery.

Back at the Bicycle House where Daniel is building a bike, something they do all day everyday here. I would encourage anyone who believes in the power of bicycles to take a look at the website and perhaps donate via their paypal or through squared. Tell them Hank sent you, I'm the new fundraising coordinator believe it or not.

Glad your enjoying it, there is always the long weekend or overnight tour to build off of. Maybe pick a cool spot 60-100 miles away and get just enough gear on a rack to make it work, tent, stove and some real basic equipment. If you like it maybe go for a longer one the next time out.
Hope to be back on the road soon, looks like my potential riding partner is very serious about joining and he would be a great asset to this journey. He is only 19 but very wise for his age, abstains from alcohol too which is a big plus. Should know more on middle of next week, until then I'll try to do some more wholesome activities like building things or making money for this great organization.

Had a nice laid back day today at Bicycle House which despite being closed saw several people stop by for minor service and inquiries. Me and Neely went out to plant a peach and walnut tree at nearby Elberta Lake Park which sadly really just a holding pond with absurd amounts of rubbish along it's banks. Still a pretty place, lots of green space and a paved path rings the water which is maybe 10 acres. Charlie had a blast cooling off in the filthy water which she also drank quite a bit of.
