Re: Clueless kid moving to Manila - Never been to Asia before

Be well-presented so it's less embarrassing, i.e. don't dress like a sex tourist so by extension she doesn't look like a hooker. Look like someone a girl would be happy to introduce to her parents. Although there's nothing you can do to completely remove the stigma some feel about talking to foreigners.

Some say ask for directions, start pointing as if you're looking for something, 'oh is it over there' etc. Then anyone looking will think oh he's just asking her the way somewhere. Most onlookers will notice as soon as you stop the girl, the awkwardness is highest in the first few seconds. So act like you're lost. Then turn it into a conversation, some people will have looked away at that point and she'll be less awkward. And you can get a read on her body language from the first question, should be easy to tell if she's super uncomfortable and not interested, in which case don't turn it into a conversation just say ty for the directions and walk off.

Some say that's overplayed and cringey, too many PUAs have been doing it. Filipina girls might be even more awkward about it if they don't know how to give you correct directions. Some say screw that just go straight into 'Hey, you're cute, can i talk to you? I'm X, what's your name?' etc.

Really nothing you can do, the mall is not the best place to have a conversation. So the quick note handout strategy isn't that bad, especially if you end up reaching twice as many girls with all the saved time talking.

Why do you say that?

I haven't really come across this much at all. More so the shy/worried about speaking english types if anything. Is there really a stigma of a filipina being seen in public with a young foreigner that somewhat matches them aesthetically speaking?

I've even lived in areas where there are almost no other foreigners and I never got a sense that girls wouldn't talk to me due to fear of being stigmatized.

it's completely different in greenbelt though, because of the whole cafe havana area, girls avoid even walking through there let alone speaking to foreigners, makes them seem like whores.

Much less of a thing if you somewhat match them in hotness / age

So assuming the girls op is talking to are actually interested, why would they have any aversion to meeting him public?

I doubt it's stigma, just shy/flaky filipinas doing their usual thing.

I don't even know why foreigners go to cafe havana. Girls aren't anything special looks wise. Might as well go to l.a cafe, at least those girls don't pretend to be high class. Probably cheaper too?

Fwiw there's a lot of active girls from Manila on seeking arrangement. Not that's it really what op is looking for

Re: Clueless kid moving to Manila - Never been to Asia before

I've had a lot of girls I'm already dating say to me something like, oh I don't like it how people stare and me when I'm with you, they think I'm 'one of those girls'.

Maybe it is just some kind of test girls do though.

Haven't had any say it when I just met / approached them but obviously they wouldn't say that, they'd just be awkward and say sorry I have a BF or something.

On the flip side, I've always had a lot of old filipinos stop and smile when I was with my gf. I don't think the "stigma" is rooted in anything to do with filipino culture as a whole.

In the phils or in Thailand?

Thais are much bigger haters. The amount of trash talk I get from thais is unreal and they always treat me weird when I'm with Asian girls, which will make lots of girls with stable mid range office jobs think twice if they want to be brand marked as mia falang.

Both, and yes it's more common in Thailand. They even have the perjorative mia farang in the language, as you say. Not sure if Tagalog has anything like that.

Filipino men are not haters. Both sexes are very supportive of Filipina/foreign relationships, and just friendly overall.

China is the worst country for men having a problem with interracial relationships, but I've heard that Thailand is quite bad as well. NEVER had a problem in Phils.

Yeah short man syndrome + small penis. Filipino guys have relatively large penises apparently. Or so I've heard.

Lol that video is gold. I'm on his side, I generally dislike 80-90% of foreigners in asia.

About the Filipino dick size, I dont know who told you that but if you've ever banged a filipina that's never been with a white guy they would say otherwise.

Also almost any other filipina?

Re: Clueless kid moving to Manila - Never been to Asia before

The shyness and fear of being seen talking to a foreigner are mostly when approaching Filipinas. On dates it's usually much less of a problem.

Though even after a month of relationship my ex didn't want to hold hands, kiss or even hug to say hello within a 500 meter radius of a specific mall in her neighbourhood where she knows a lot of people and seemed nervous even walking next to me there. She also hasn't told her parents about me in over 3 months of relationship.

Just got home from my first date with the girl who has a 2 year boyfriend. It cost me 150 pesos / $3 for fruit juice for two at the mall. She didn't mention her boyfriend once in one hour of conversation. I think it went pretty well and she can't wait for next time. She asked if we can go to Little Venice next; is it cheap/free to have a date there? Taking the bus for 20 pesos obv. Hopefully I'll get her to come to my condo afterwards.

You never considered asking her why she didn't want to be seen with you? Pretty big deal imo.

Little venice is just like a mall kinda thing. Kinda like the Venetian in Vegas, free to go see. Realistically if she wants to go I'd imagine you'll need to buy dinner or coffee at the very least. Maybe you have a German bluntness where you can just tell her you wont pay for anything though. But free yes.

I asked if it's because many people think women are gold diggers/sluts/whores when they are with foreigners and she said yes.

I'm still in makeup from 300NL, the months of July and August have been $0 poker paycheck for me. My volume-discipline problem only got worse after I had to drop down to 150NL with over $2k makeup remaining. I'll post graph at the end of the month.

Lol I watched the podcast about it afterwards. Apparently this was made because some Spanish dude fornicated with a Chinese girl right outside a bar and it went viral.

The song itself is trash.

I would have to say that in general, normal girls either don't know about Cafe Havana, nor do they care because they likely aren't dressed like sluts. Of all the girls in my office, this was their reaction when we go to the restos nearby.

That area is right next to one of the busiest Starbucks, a popular French crepe dessert place, and one of the main entrances/exits to the mall, so if your girl wants to avoid that area, in general I'd take a good hard look at that girl, she's likely a working girl or used to be one.

Last, I would guess that the fear of having to speak in English far outweighs the being seen with a foreigner bit. If you're decent looking and decently dressed, it may even be the highlight of their day. Learning even token words of Tagalog (in Manila) will help you out a lot here.
