You can go busto level to at about 400 USD incl. internet and utils but the place generally is going to suck when compared to Thailand (Info's place looks decent but bad location).

Also Manila / Phils in general are super dodgy / busto when compared to BKK / Thailand.

Most pinoys don't like to live in their own country as 95%+ struggle to make a living and **** is corrupt and busto as **** while thais love Thailand and could not imagine living elsewhere.
I love bkk but I could not see myself living in a megacity forever. I lived for a while in Da Nang and even if the nightlife there sucked, I loved to live there. I guess I m more a coastal city guy so forget about Manilla, rather Cebu I think. I see on internet a one bedroom apartment in Avida seems to cost around 500 usd, good value imo.

Solid plan!

Anyone knows if you can play on Betfair from the Philippines? According to raketherake it seems to be allowed, anyone can confirm? What about cash out poker site to bank account, no risk?

Well you're the least social guy I know, rarely meet or interact with anyone offline, no hobbies, social clubs, stuff like that. 'Lol friends' you said right. And 'what else are we doing except girls and watching sports / listening to podcasts at home'. I'm pretty similar.

Seemed a fair assumption that friendliness = how pleasant girls are in the process from meeting them to banging them. Info was also looking for more varied / exciting sex.

In my opinion you'd probably be best served moving on considering you're so young and presumably low on the life experience chart(not meant as an insult, just based on age). I relate to being a one GF at a time guy rather than a banging everything that smiles at me kind of guy, as most in these types of threads seem to be, so I definitely get the apprehension you're feeling that these other heartless bastards don't But even so, given that your options are wide open there and you two are already running into major roadblocks, the sex and lack of convo, seems like a pretty clear fold.

i thought by saying it multiple times it would have been clear that i was talking about how
he wants social interaction from all the people around him, thai's are not going to be giving him that

are thais in the top 5 for ease to get laid as a foreigner.... probably

for friendly people and social interaction around town? not even close

The people telling OP to stay with his girl are pretty shocking IMO. He's expressed that he's not into her anymore and he's confident he can find new options. Sounds like a no-brainer. Staying with someone just because they like you is a good way to guarantee unhappiness.

The seed is planted and it will start to set in with her that it will eventually be over, stay strong.
You're bored and she's not a good lay, move on. It's the fair thing to do. You may look back and regret it down the line but this is how you start figuring out what you consider a good girl for you is and in the future you'll appreciate them more.
Speaking of seeds, is there any chance she would stop taking her birth control pills and try to have info jr to keep you around?
Also remember that the Philippines is just one big ghetto. Seems like if you can't afford to live in the good part of manila then you're just in some trashed neighborhood. The trashy parts of Bangkok would probably be considered upper 30% for manila but you're still not going to find any kind of nature in BKK. The lack of greenery in Bangkok always bums me out.
I think it's generally agreed that you can have a higher standard of living in Thailand for less money than the PI but for sure language is a larger barrier. English is getting much better here but will never be on the Philippine level.
Anyways, I'd say do whatever you can to minimize costs even if that means staying where you are for another 6 months and grind that liferoll up so hopefully you can have the problem of deciding what new city or country you want to move to.

Good to know. That means you don't need to change anything in your pattern

Instead of Gramercy just go 2 minutes over the mandaluyong bridge to Tivoli gardens for <400ish studio. Nicer than Gramercy imo and some solice from the hustle and bustle of makati ave/Burgos.

Also appreciate the airbnb suggestion for pattaya but due to some things out of my control my account is tarnished. Just met with an agent and she showed me a few places at about 15-20k baht studios and they werent any nicer than say tivoli gardens or Eastwood in manila.

I even went to View Talay based on Dante's recommendation (I like the area also) and was quoted 20k for a studio. Are there any other modestly priced places in between phratnamnak and jomtien? Sorry for the derail info.

My very limited experience in Thailand was that they weren't very friendly except at the resorts which I highly suspect was "fake american kindness"

I think a large part of that is that I, like most people in this forum, speak absolutely no Thai. That's one of the things that makes the Philippines a far friendly place: they speak my language.

View talay 6 thats right next to central mall would cost 20k if not more depending on the room. Really nice place. I've stayed there off air bnb before.

Yeah I was wrong. I had gone to View Talay "Residences" 1 which is literally 2 mins up the road. Found a few studio rooms at View talay 1 for 8k but the building is a little bit older and run down.

Found a nice 1 br in phratamnak for 11k with gym, sauna etc. Girl told me it goes for 25-30k during high season so im pretty happy with that find.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the derail info. As someone who's lived in manila for 2+ years knowing the entire time it's not where I could imagine staying for the foreseeable future, Just let go. The relationships with girls always seem to have such a shallow structure anyways. It's not gonna last so just do what makes you happy.

ya that makes a lot more sense, last time i was there it was high season and i had to pay 14k but it was seriously one of two or three rooms available in the whole place and someone else was saying 16 or 18k which i couldnt believe

Filipinos are genuinely fun loving, and if they are just acting that way to get money out of you then it's probably because you're a miserable person or you look like a sucker and have attracted that group of people to yourself.

There's also a pretty big misconception of what a prostitution agreement is in the Philippines. In the Philippines this is often **** first then "beg" or ask for money later. What's happening here is a good ole dose of Christian guilt. No you didn't manage to bang some girl by chatting to her for 5 minutes on a social app and then meeting at your place and unzipping your pants. You engaged in prostitution but the girl, unlike in other cultures, is trying to removing herself from that interaction (weakly imo but it is what it is) by saying that the sex happened naturally, and now she's just asking for money because she's a nice person and you're a nice person... and maybe the sex might have something to do with it but not really because that's likely a sin, but kinda sorta but not really.

It's a lot of mental gymnastics on their part but it's still just prostitution. If you want to see what an organic, real relationship is, look no further than info shove.

Disagree with what you said
Hookers need love too. Sometimes they will fu,ck you for free. Then they will ask for money after the deed, because WHY NOT? many dudes will give the money with no prior agreement to avoid confrontation/maybe they just like helping the poor whores. If you don't, they will probably be okay with it

It's not prostitution, it's women taking advantage of their charm/sillyness of men post coitus

Enough derail, please... We have Ask us about Thailand so please don't use my thread to ask general Thailand or even Philippines questions that have nothing to do with me (internet on small islands? I don't know, I've never left Manila, why are you asking here?). There are actually people trying to read through the whole thread and that derail makes it way harder. Don't be that guy ruining a thread with completely unrelated questions.

Thread saver: 18 year old girl I hit up on facebook yesterday. She wants to meet up but I accidently promised her we'll have Balut lol. Does it taste good? It cant taste worse than it looks
