More of Pasig... I think the pics show what I mean, it feels less touristy and a bit more dangerous

What about proof of accomodation? Do they ever ask for it?

Yeah your area seems a little ghetto but I wouldn't worry about "safety"
Isn't the violent crime rate super low in the Philippinnes?

IIRC they asked me for my address in the Philippines but didn't ask for proof so I could have given them a random address

It's usually this. They have the right to ask you for proof, but they next to never do.

G2a, please don't derail my thread too much with general questions, that's what the general Phils thread is for. Let's keep this thread easy to read, thanks

Got an electric stove for 400 pesos. Curtains for 200. Cornices are too expensive so my curtains are now fixed on a gift ribbon for 10 pesos.

Overall I'm super glad being in this place despite the nitty furniture, no table, no dishes, etc. The only thing I need now is girls over.

My daily dinner and how much it costs:

170g salmon - 180 pesos
5 tomatoes - 10 pesos
1 crushed chili - 2 pesos

Because there's no Pixar movie on it? I know you guys are missing it.

It was either this setup for 210 pesos or a larger curtain with cornice for over 1000! I know for 210 I prefer this one. Its a privacy shield for the bed which is all I needed.

The curtains look better than I was expecting from something that costs the same amount as a piece of salmon.

Overall the place looks like great value imo. Good job

Hmm... if farmed is the only option you think it does more bad than good? I'm actually thinking of cutting it down to 1-2x a week. It's currently my main source of fats but I could replace it by nuts.

I'd completelly agree with you, Gonzo

cliffs:
-we need omega 3 and omega 6 in our diet. not in exagerate quantities, but in a ratio of about 1:4 (eat 1g of o3 for each 4 grams of o6).
-omega 3 is primairily found in grass/algae fed animals
-omega 6 is found in vegetable oil or grain-fed animals
-the average american (and for sure the avg asian too) has a ratio of about 1:40 in his diet
-everyone needs to eat more o3,

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4761991/
but this study kinda contests it

-wild fish DO have a better o3 vs o6 ratio
-but farmed fish have more fat overall (and o3/o6 are unsaturated so that's good)
-hell even saturated fat is not bad for you, as long as it's not processed junk or comes from soy/corn oil
-keep in mind that this study analyzed "scottish farmed salmon", which they called the best in the world

G2A's conclusions :
-wild salmon has a better o3/o6 ratio and less poison contamination chances
-farmed salmon still has lots of healthy fatty acids
-eating animal protein is always healthier than soy or no protein at all (just don't deep fry it)

“The benefits of eating fish far outweigh the insignificant risk of pollutants and other substances,” said Janneche Utne Skaare, of Norway’s Scientific Committee for Food Safety (VKM).

yeah I'm a tryhard

Definitely bad. Farmed salmon are one of the most toxic foods in the world, they are full of antibiotics, dioxins, and many other chits. You should cutting it down to max 1x a month imo, not more. For the healthy fats, my diet consists of coconut oil (unrefined, cold pressed), avocados, tuna can (2-3x a week for my post workout protein). But 80% of my daily fat come from the coconut oil, I cook everything with it and eat around 10 tbsp per day.
