strong logic, dante
yeah playing short (and nitty) gives you less variance, but you also have a lower winrate (which also gives u a little more chance of a downswing)
Hope OP doesn't resort to playing... could **** with his liferoll
KEEP HUSTLING!! WE BELIEVE IN YOU
nice reading comprehension, if you gonna call someone out try and understand what they said first
i didnt say it was more costly, i said you are more likely to go on a 3bi downswing when shortstacking
when you play with a 40bb stack you are forced to play hands that you don't need to overvalue when deep
ie, you have a 2k stack in 25-50 and there is a raise to 150 and 3 calls, you have AK, pretty much have to raise (or you shouldnt be at the table) and are likely gonna get stacked if you are beat, or put a third of your stack into the pot and then fold.... much better
when playing deep you don't need to overvalue AK, and if you raise and get 4bet can safely fold it so you dont get stacked
you are raising the variance by playing short, ie more likely to go on a 3bi downswing
