Because "Pamapanga" coming from a Westerner's mouth usually translates to "AC".

You've already narrowed it down by posting the pics, so I didn't think it was important to hide it even more whether it's San Fernando or AC.

Do people actually exist that put in significant poker volume, eat healthy and workout everyday, all while still leaving the house and having some sort of social life (whether it's chasing girls or meeting friends)?

I've been struggling to find a balance of the above for the whole month of January. If I follow my strict diet (no bread, sweets, pizza or coke to keep me up at night (coke, the soda, not the drug )) on a calorie deficit, workout for an hour and leave the house to the mall for a few hours, by the end of the day I just fall into bed without having played any poker or just one short 2 hour session.

Yesterday was actually the first day in my poker career that I followed a strict diet, lifted weights, ran 30 min for cardio and still put in good poker volume (6.5 hours), and repeating this struggle everyday seems like an impossible task. It's a nice rewarding feeling though when going to bed or waking up the next day.

Pampanga girl's standards are phucking insane, she likes foreigners but also wants her bf to be in his 20s, not chubby, handsome, physically located in the Philippines and serious about relationship (not hooking up). Such man doesn't exist!! She's pretty much the main motivation for me to workout at this point. Which can be a good thing having a powerful motivation, but can also be toxic changing yourself for other people. Whatever, I want her and failure is not an option.

Caffeine.... good for fat loss as well as keeping you up, raises caloric burn and blunts appetite. Plain black coffee (no sugar/milk) and a ton of water throughout the day too

In all my years of hanging out with poker players, there's only one that I know of that maintained with consistency what you just described and he's a total beast (doesn't sleep a lot, which really helps also). His social life is decent but not like over the top good. You gotta prioritize what you really want. In general imo you should pick 2 or 3 things you put your mind to, as it's way better to be super good at one thing than sorta not complete **** at a lot of things. You can often leverage that expertise into new opportunities.

Eating healthy is something that becomes a habit after a while so that's not an issue. Based on this thread, it's clear making money should be #1 priority. Social life/fitness depends on what you value most right now. It's really not that hard to keep in shape though, I go gym on average 2.5 times a week with no extracurricular help and am in really good shape. The hard part is getting the nutrition part down, but once that's figured out it's ezpz. You have to count your calories (or macros if you're really dedicated), there's no way around it, and protein intake ideally.

I play poker everyday 2/6 hours take breaks on mondays/ or when im tired. Workout 5 days a week. Eat healty (gf cooks, safes me a lot of time). I either go to the beach or around town for a few hours. I dont sleep more than 6h but i get up early and keep consistent. Its called the compound effect, look it up and try it.

Nah it is just there are 2 types of poker players:

1) guys that made a decision that this is their career and they are professional what they are doing

2) guys that want to travel/****/not have a normal work and use poker mostly to stay in their country of prefference as long as possible.

You are part of the 2nd crowd and you also atract this type of guys (because like minded people etc.) so there is no surprise you would think that way.

Bunch of guys eat healthy, play good volume have good social life but for the most part they are introvert, have long term GF/wife and are emotionally stable.
Don't get me wrong I am not one of them myself but have several friends that are easily in the 1st group.

Big difference maker is chosing poker as your profession and something you want to do enxt X years. If you are in it just for the money/to survive/to bank chicks you probably won't make it .

My daily routine:

Wake up eat veggies and meat with no rice. Run 15 minutes to gym. Lift for an hour. Run 15 minutes home. Feel hungry? 1. Drink water. 2. Still feel hungry? 3. Drink soda water. Still feel hungry? 4. Find honey to lie down with for a couple hours. Sex always kills my appetite for an hour or two. Finally, eat lunch. Go to the poker room look for Korean/Chinese players. Feel hungry? Repeat Steps 1 through 4. Cut down on carbs and alcohol. One or two whiskeys at HiSo to find a honey. Then sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Stop hanging out with alcoholics. Stop drinking coke including coke zero, switch to tea. I am in my late 40's, have lost 20 pounds in the last 10 weeks in SEA and will lose 20 more.

HiSo in Angeles? You live and play live poker professionally there? I though it's quite low stakes / volume

Yes Angeles. I have been floating around, trying to decide on a retirement country since my eligibility is coming up soon. I make enough money to pay for expenses, like $50 a day.

I coudn't disagree more, coke zero/lite takes away my hunger, and i've shredded fat by IFing while drinking lots coke zero.

I'm not saying coke zero is actually good for you, but my anecdotal evidence is the exact opposite of your anecdotal evidence.

Social life during the week definitely not, leaving my place also no. (I get all my groceries delivered these days)

I eat healthy and work out though. Healthy eating is somewhat hackable cooking time wise with good planning / prepping / sticking to easy cooking techniques, working out takes me 40 min a day right now, so not a whole lot of time.

If you really work out your muscles (as in lifting weights, doing crunches etc.) for 20min a day dieting isn't needed at all unless you have a really messed up metabolism and you can eat as much healthy food as you want.

I work a remote 9 to 5 though mind you.

When I was grinding a steady 6h a day I did a whole lot more with my day and the extra 2h definitely made a difference.

What filipinas want is some handsome movie star settling down with them.

What they actually get under normal circumstances are old dudes like that:

This is a shi t test from her imo, I'd prob have banged her by now. I'd just assertively reply something like 'well what are you waiting for, I'm 22, located here, not that chubby don't be silly, and I look ok, not pangit'

When you tell filipinas what you want and how it's gonna be they respond well to that. Shes actually not that hot deep down she knows she should be letting you stick your penis inside her before you do another girl. But you have to make the moves

I've lost over 100lbs guzzling half a gallon of coke zero and/or crystal lite daily (among keeping simple carbs low and protein and fat high)

weight gain/loss is purely about calorie balance for just about everyone, the dude who says 'lift 20 mins a day and you can eat anything' is obviously wrong.

What KptBomba said is pretty much spot on. If you gamble for a living there will come a point where, if you want to step your game up to the next level, you make a conscious choice to fully commit to it - essentially throwing whatever your plan B is out of the window. With this comes the willingness to make certain 'sacrifices' - healthy lifestyle, eating properly, less drinking, sleeping well etc.

In fact due to the required shift in mindset, you will not even see these things as sacrifices anymore as they're integral to helping you achieve a greater goal.
You have to make the choice and decide that, it is the goal that you want in the first place though.

There is a famous saying in trading that 'Everyone gets what they want from the market' - and it's applicable to many things in life, in my opinion. You have to choose what it is that you really want though and then align your choices and habits with that.

There's not a 'right' or 'wrong' answer either. It'll be different for everyone.

btw, having read bits of this thread, I've got the utmost respect for what you're doing at such a young age. It's looks like you're having a great time and the life experience you'll gain will prove to be very +EV in the long run.

She didn't tell me those things as a compiled list like a **** test. It's what I could pick up from things she briefly mentioned over the course of the 3 hours we hung out in Pampanga. It's pretty clear she wants a handsome movie star settling down with her as iLiveInAsia put it. Her standards are delusional. I don't think there's much I could've said or done differently, she was put off by my appearance from the first second she saw me, treating me like I'm not the average looking 23 year old I am, but the 70 year old guy in above video thumbnail instead.

I still believe there's hope if I make her realize I'm 'serious', perhaps get a bit more in shape. How many guys want a serious relationship with her that are young foreigners in the Phils? I hope she comes to ask herself that question and realize it's a very low number.

Don't be such a simp brah, 3rd world women don't need to qualify themselves to you and especially if they live in hooker central AC it's rather than the other way around.

It's a big country with tons of women thirsty for a first world guy, although a more established stable income one cause nobody is going to help you in the phils beyond family if you're broke and jobs are scare and low paid for the most part.

Ignoring her and seeing if she ever gets back to you is my preferred play if she's not all that into you.

9 out of 10 times I don't ever hear anything back from women apparently looking for something different.

I haven't let my busto-ness shine through with her yet, bought us a ₱600 lunch in a restaurant and as far as I understood her she prefers a guy to be as close to her age as possible, rather early 20s than late 20s. She just turned 19!

I'm trying. I'm roaming around malls 10 hours a week but nothing catches my eye. I'm not feeling so interested in Filipinas anymore. She was able to restore that interest cuz she's exactly my type.

On a more positive note, my ex was here from Saturday to Sunday and I got 3 bangs out of it.

On Saturday night I was bored and admittedly missed her a bit. Of course I was also horny and had sex at the back of my mind but it wasn't the main reason. I just wanted to see her again as friends, it's been 5 weeks since I broke up.

No "Hello". When she saw me she turned her back on me and looked for a cab. She didn't talk to me for the whole 15 minute cab ride to the sushi place. At the sushi place she still didn't talk until I said "I'm sorry", she replied quietly "ok", I went on "for hurting you" and she told me to stop. After that the ice was broken and we talked about parents, poker, her work, etc. When we were almost finished eating she was the one to ask if I wanna watch a movie at my place... I was about to ask the same thing a minute later.

Anyway she spent the night and it was fun, but from Saturday till Sunday she kept asking about other girls and I was very clear that yes, in the past 5 weeks I've seen other girls, why wouldn't I? It ended up with her storming out of my condo with no goodbyes on Sunday night. It was right after she had asked about other girls for the 3rd time and for the 3rd time I repeated yes, there are other girls.

Did I get used for sushi and sex?
