I just had my first interaction with a non-twoplustwo white expat. I hope not all of them are this grumpy but unfortunately from what I heard about thaivisa he would fit there very well. He was in his late 50's to early 60's, I was walking inside a 7-Eleven while he was walking out super slowly. There were 2 doors with enough space for 3 people to walk in so I didn't see the need to wait for him (I'd wait for an old person if there was just one door), but he was walking in the middle of both doors so when I opened my door it slightly touched his arm and he instantly dropped his iPhone; it landed on the door mat and didn't get damaged. I'm the nicest guy ever and apologized twice while holding my door open for him but he just looked at me in disgust without saying anything for 10 seconds before I let the door close and walked away thinking what's wrong with this man.

He wasn't paying attention while walking (almost standing) in the middle of 2 doors, it was at least 50% his fault and I just said sorry and held him the door open cuz I wanted to be nice which he ignored. And I didn't "hit him" with the door; it barely brushed his arm when I carefully opened the door as he was in the middle of 2 doors but he acted like I just stormed inside.

I guess there's no way describing it without having been there but to me it left a bad impression of (s)expats without poker background in Asia. But ofc my sample size is low - 2 cool guys from 2+2 including BKKYOLO and 1 misery guts from outside 2+2 that doesn't seem fun at parties.

Yesterday to the day it's been 1 month since gf and I first met. Below is how we met, isn't it romantic? No it's not, I shouldn't show her this. (she's the 8). The 9 never texted me

The 9 was the first 9 I've seen in Philippines in over 2 months I've been here, I wish she'd text me then I'd forget my crush in an instant. So far the 8 and 6 have texted me. It's kinda funny figuring out who is who when the girls that text you each think they're the only girl you handed your number to. You got to make it look like you spontaneously wrote the note just for her. Then you need to find out by getting their fb or from cues about the situation you met.

Gf budget in 1 month:

  • 590 sushi for two
  • 250 sushi for myself + 30 our tricycle ride back (she paid her own sushi and our tricycle ride there)
  • Total: 1020 pesos. She brings her own food to my place and never wants when I offer her something (cuz all I have in my fridge is fruits and veggies) so this truly is all expenses other than utility bill
  • 100 cake for myself (she paid 100 for her own cake)
  • 400 pizza for two (she paid 150 for our cab rides)
  • 30 fresh coconut
  • 500 cake and rice meals for two (she bought stuff for my apartment worth about 300 that day so I paid her food)
  • 120 surprising her with her favorite cake while I'm dieting and having fruits
  • Total in 1 month: 2170 pesos or $43 USD
Her 'bf budget' is probaby a bit over 1000 if you include what she's bought for my apartment that's not included in the list (about 500 in total) and her own rides to get to my place and back (it's a 10 min drive and she's been here 6 times without asking for cab money).

The chopping off dick threats/"jokes" have stopped after I told her via text and in person that's not ok and crazy. Now she just talks about less crazy standard gf stuff I guess (wanting us to last long time, not wanting me to see other girls, wanting me to stay in the Philippines, etc.).

Poker not going well volume or results wise... I got a new account on 5/19 after the affiliate stopped staking me. Perhaps while getting staked by the affiliate I was unknowingly playing on a 'superuser' / non-doomswitched account. Nah I'm joking, I don't believe that and I'll put in work without excuses; downswings are just really demotivating. IDN if you're reading this please deactivate my doomswitch before you get exposed by me going on a 20 BI downswing right after switching accounts.

5.5 hours of play, very impressive downswing

I'm not saying it's a huge downswing, but 2 BI is definitely considered a downswing in games where you only play against short stacked fish.

Uncapped rake and bad structure, be prepared for far worse downswings.

You may think losing 2 BI means getting stacked twice, but losing 2 BI on IDN means doubling up loose passive fish with about 20-40bb stacks approximately 5-10 times in games that you beat for 10bb/100. It just doesn't happen a lot.

Lol I already said that they don't currently play lower limits so you're probably fine, but your tone suggests you don't believe they exist at all which is worrisome.

No, you convinced me they exist in some games and are a danger on IDN and I don't recommend anyone reading to deposit on IDN. But I'll gladly continue to be one of 2+2's IDN investigators.

How many hands do you think you've played two tabling for five hours? Is it reg tables or fast? No more than 2.5k hands I'm guessing.. if you had been running the same for the whole of the month since you've been recording results now that you could start to consider a proper downswing if you're a decent winner in the games.

1k hands. It's fast tables but only 80 hands/hour because all players are limping fish.

So you're saying if I was down 30-40 BI... That would be an absolutely insane downswing with far under 1% chance of happening. The table plays short. About 90% of the time the whole table plays under 50bb and 100% of the time they are 5 limping fish on a 6max table (otherwise I leave the table). I'd need to be very unlucky to lose even 10 BI.
