I think he has been around long enough being broke and dealing with jealous hater local guys and lying beggar girls to meet such a fate and I hope he is doing well. It's usually some random jealous hater local guy murdering the western guy, sometimes alongside with his wife. The seedier (Angeles) or more remote the area (some very rural place), the higher the chances.

Thinking of leaving Manila and finding a beach town, or moving south out of the city near one of the golf courses an hour south of Manila. Are there any good options with lots of western food and good internet with decent cost of living? Don't need the night life stuff. Preferably not overrun with tourists, with less night life I'll probably be able to find that here. Thoughts anyone?

there is a setting at the bottom to what period it will show posts from. its probably set at something like last 100 days, so you can make it longer if you want more posts.

The Philippines has one of the most liberal visa policies in the world. You can show up, get a visa on arrival for 1 month, then extend for another month (or two months or whatever I don't remember exactly), then after that you can keep extending every 6 months. just gotta pay some $$$. not sure if there is even a maximum, although I have heard it is recommended to do a border run after like 2-3 years.
