If you are worried about HIV, you should watch the video below.

Cliffs:
- virologist says that your body can naturally get rid of HIV if you have a good immune system
- dude is legit (he received a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2008 for his discovery of the HIV)
- no money in nutrition, there's no profit
- HIV probably one of the greatest frauds in medical history

Just need one more vote to sway either. Also, the others are pretty good too, so will slowly make my way through everything.

Gonzo - I'm still terrified of it.

I guess I'll start working through them since never ended up with 3 votes. Had one of my good buddies in town for the weekend and it was an absolute blast. Will update that, as there was some degeneracy, boozing, + the best bajowski Big Body has ever received.

One love,

Big Body Return of 4eva: Part 2

I can’t believe it has been just over four years since my last post. But at the same time, I can. I debated reviving this thread over the years. Something about this moment feels right. It’s self-serving, like many other things. I’m 32 now. My hairline, Larry David. My eyebrows, Scorcese. My penis, the Gerber baby. I created this thread nearly seven years ago as I had moved back in with my mother to study for the bar exam.

A part of me wishes I could step back into that period of my life. That’s not a slight to the point of life I find myself in now. On the contrary, I wish I could experience it all again. The hope, the naivete, the self-destruction. I will.

Things never go as planned. My life has taken a far more circumlocutory route than I could have ever imagined. I’m a three-time bar exam failure, twelve-time prostate exam state champion (thank you Dr. Fong), one-time throat infection survivor (no thank you to the 55-year-old Taiwanese prostitute I got it from), and fallible Epicurean, still figuring things out. It took me roughly 6 years since my departure to get back to the city I loved permanently and on my own terms. I cried on my mother’s shoulder the night before I flew back to Hong Kong. Reduced to a child-like state out of inexplicable (and crippling) joy, fear, and relief.

I’m glad everything happened as it did and am optimistic that this next chapter will be equally as great, heartbreaking, and chaotic, and I want to share it (once again).

I write this on the cusp of an upcoming self-imposed moratorium on my time in Hong Kong, headed back to Saigon (potentially Bangkok, and who knows where else) to appeal to my prurient interests and recover a part of my identity that has felt, for a lack of better words, suppressed and wilting. I could dive into a resume listicle of the last four years but that will come out organically.

This isn’t a sad thread and it never will be. I look forward to the spectacle and hedonism of life and hope some of our paths cross along the way.

“My story is the story of a raging Christ figure who tore himself down from the cross and looked at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said: My turn now, c.ocksuckers.”

Best,

Big Body Boris

P.S. BGP - I’m coming for you. <3

pretty surreal that one man, Fauci, is intrinsically linked to 2 of the greatest scams/failures of Western science in history in early AIDs and now WUHAN Lab coverrup + MRNA covid jab scam

Bolver my dawg, great to hear from you - I'm currently based in Hong Kong as I've been there the last two years (and will continue on for PR - 7 years minimum continuous residence). I did, however, just land in Saigon today and am posted up at one of my favorite cafes slugging a few cafe suas.

Where are you at currently? Hopefully our paths can cross at some point, 2023 is the untethering and education of Sonny Carson and Big Body Boris.

Yo did borders just open between HK and China on friday? Or today maybe? I'm seeing reports about it but...its china and everything is a bit vague. I'm seeing that between HK and china there is zero vax or testing requirements, also no more cap on number of people allowed to cross border, etc etc. looks like china is on its way to being 100% open again?
HK just dropped all entry requirements as well?!?! I'll see ya soon bub, line up the whiskies

Yes today. For HK, arrivals from places other than the glorious motherland are theoretically still supposed to do an RAT self-test and keep a photo but nobody checks anymore. But still mask-wearing indoors and outdoors, if you know how to play it you can get by with a minimum of it. Some places you cannot avoid it, MTR and shops mostly. Other than that basically fully open now, arrivals at 40% of precovid levels. Less in China, mainly due to visafree options not available, last I heard tourist visas also not issued still.

Boliver my dawg - I am currently in Saigon until the 16th of Feb, then doing BKK for a month or so, then maybe back to Saigon. I don't think I'll be back in Hong Kong until May/June. It's still my base (as my visa ties me there at minimum 6 mos of the year) but I hadn't left in nearly 2.5 years so have taken a few months to reacquaint myself with the world out in SEA. As I was leaving, HK was returning to a similar energy from the old days (still somewhat diluted w/ all the political BS) so I definitely recommend checking it out. Hopefully we can sync up there or if not and you have any questions about things to do/places to see/hikes/etc...don't hesitate to shoot me a message here or on FB.

Re: masks in HK - agree with FWWM about masks, you really only are wearing it when in malls/MTR/etc... but if you are outside, more and more people just omitting it completely or letting it dangle.

Cheers and will be providing an update soon,

Big Body

Currently sitting at a cafe on Sukhumvit 11 pinning beer/coffee/food locations to Google Maps (can't believe I've never done this before) sandwiched (more of a Big Mac-style sandwiching due to the three layers) between a one-armed French man donning cargo shorts furiously swiping on Tinder, a morbidly obese French man in ripped jean shorts scoffing down a carbonara, and a French mother trying to corral her two feral children - I couldn't be happier.

Will have to do a more in-depth reflection on my first month in Saigon (in the coming weeks), which accomplished everything I was hoping. Feeling a more whole version of my self - replete with friendship, love, and 350g ribeyes from El Gaucho - and ready to tackle the next 3-4 months in SEA before heading back to Hong Kong.

Initial Bangkok Musings/Anecdotes:

1. Realized I never really knew this city very well due to coming in and immediately succumbing to the hedonism, so am going to really try and get a better feel for what it's like to live here over the next month or so (and then potentially return in April for another month). Still unsure of what a typical work day for me here would look like and how my emotional/mental constitution holds when walking home after dealing with work bozos all day.

2. Stumbled on Arab Soi yesterday and went into a great little spot (Shahrazad) where I may have been the only non-Muslim, hit one of the waiters with a 'shukran' and he called his buddy over and made me say it again. After I did, he just gripped my shoulder, smiled, and said "Very good brother" in an accent similar to Marko from Tropoja in Taken. Finished the night smoking some shisha with a horde of old Arab men while switching between spotty Egyptian League coverage, an Imam's livestream recording, and surprisingly sexual Arab male pop star ballads.

3. Lots of piss smells.

4. Just an absolute Murderers' Row of ladyboys in the Sukhumvit/Nana area that I would pit against the Legion of Boom in the backfield any day of the week. "Who's got your back? I've got your back!" - who said it? Richard Sherman or Ploy from Buriram? As Shane Gillis said, if the transgenders want equal rights in the U.S., all they have to do is put together a tough as nails, run-it-down-your-throat football team that marches into Bryant-Denny and takes down the Crimson Tide.

5. I don't really know anyone here at the moment which is definitely forcing me outside of my comfort-zone a bit with exploring - something I've definitely needed to do since I am way too comfortable with my routine in Saigon and Hong Kong.

Cheers everyone,

Big Body Boris in Bangkok

Hey there

Stumbled upon your thread and read it all over the course of the last few days and really enjoyed it. Is a shame that 2+2 (and other forums) are becoming slowly extinct as this form of storytelling will also dissapear with time in favor of other ways of communicating.

I was surprised to see the jump from 2018 or whatever to this year (a few weeks ago actually). Want to know what happened in that gap but you promised to deliver that organically so I'll patiently wait.

I'll be in BKK a couple times over the next month or so, one for Arctic Monkeys concert and another for a footy tournament, down to grab a couple if you still around.

Best of luck,

Rama

Hey there Rama,

Really appreciate the kind words and am glad you enjoyed the read so far. Completely agree about the forums and just general storytelling as a whole. As my buddy Drunk Stepdad's father (somewhat of a newspaper tycoon in the New England area) would always tell me, "The newspaper is the last bastion of democracy." Granted he would then stumble up the stairs to bed talking about how he was going to kill Mike Pence at some point so I'm not sure all of his thoughts were as lucid. I feel similar about these forums as they really have served as some goldmines of information, reflection, and catharsis.

Will definitely get to the trajectory over the years and who knows, might just be one of those better things to discuss in person over a bite/beer/coffee. I just extended time in BKK until March 16th, so do give a holler here or in direct messages when you are in town (or coming in) and would be great to meet up!

Cheers,

Big Body

I just spent a whole day reading every single post of this thread. What a read! Thank you for sharing your stories... kind of envying you for all the experiences you managed to have in your 20s. You are like a 21st century version of Holden Caufield haha. Hats down and hopefully you will be back to posting regularly!

Cheers mate!
