I dont play in RW but a friend tells me they have 100/200 every day now and its very good

Thanks for the informations shared about the state of live games in Manilla. I am planning to go there as well for a period of 1 month. Is there any place where we can play live poker outside of Solaire/CoD and Metro Card Club? I remember Solaire having an "online platform" on pokermaster, do they offer online gaming still? What about the other poker rooms there?

City of Dreams does not have any games. There are games at Okada and Resorts World.

I’m not a pro or maybe even best for advice have played around Manila for last 6 yrs. I’m sure some of this is repeat and of course is just my opinion.

Unless you want one table of anything above 25/50 I would skip Metro. Which kinda sucks as they treat you better than any other room if you play higher stakes and have by far most skilled dealers. I’ve heard they are running a higher game recently, maybe PLO or short deck but can not confirm.

Solaire is bad for smoke as they barely enforce stepping away from tables. Wait in peek hours is crazy because they only have 6 tables. But they do have the deepest structure for 50/100 with 40k max buyin and from what I saw last few times the bigger NLH and PLO were playing what looked to be very deep.

I have not been to new room in Okada yet.

RW has crew of almost all new dealers the past couple weeks so is slow. They will get better. The 5% rake is does help at 50/100. So does the max 30k buying as allows deeper games. I think 7 to 10 bb/hr win rate is possible for this game for someone who puts in effort. They have consistently had 100/200 for past few weeks. I see a good number of regulars in it but must be decent as a couple look to have shifted there from Solaire as main game. You just have to keep ears open as the good games tend to drift between casinos.

There is also All In. I haven’t played there recently but they send out regular updates for a PLO game almost daily as well as NLH at several stakes.

Just got back from Manila last week (From Australia as well OP) Played at Solaire & Okada (RW poker has dried up since Pokerstars live moved to Okada)

Solaire- Plenty of action, I played there on a Sunday night and had to wait 2+ hours on the wait list to get a game of 100/200, game spread there were games from 25/50 all the way up to 500/100 that night. Every table used, Went back again on the wednesday afternoon/evening for a game and was looking at another 2+ hour wait so went to Okada instead. Agree that the smoke is bad at Solaire.

Okada- Or Pokerstas live, the poker room its self is out of the way of all the other table games and nearest to the sportsbar/book. Played there on Tuesday (1 game of 25/50, 1 small tournament) and Wednesday (2 games of 25/50 running + 1 small tournament) with the poker room being fairly new the player pool was small, Should improve with time & the Manila Megastack on at the moment.

Played Okada 50/100 last week, games are good with a good flow of korean gamblers. The main issue which I noticed was aside from the 350 php rake cap (~$7usd), they seem to rake more than 10% of the pot. I kept seeing the dealers take 100 from a pot of ~800 etc. Not sure if this was due to laziness or if the rake is actually higher than 10%

They prolly just rounded up. They don't have 5er chips at poker. They do the same in the US, they don't take fractional USD. Are you sure about the rake cap? Normal rake cap around Manila is 500PHP (+50 BBJ if applicable)

i played there too last week, rake cap is 500, at for 100/200.
they also Jackpotrake which is always 50php.
i think thats additional to the rake tho.
someone said they rake 9%.
RW took 75php from a 500php pot.
So i think its similar, 50 jackpot rake und 25 normal rake.

Hi, I'm going to Manilla in two days time until end of Sept. Couple of questions:

1. I play a bunch on Natural8, but read that online poker is pretty much banned in PH. Is that true for Natural8?

2. Also, read from a couple of sauces that the internet in Manilla is generally pretty shitty and dc-es a bunch. Would it be an option to hotspot it from a SIM card? If so, which (short-term) SIM card should I get?

3. I read somewhere that RW only has 100/200 or 200/400 games running on weekend evenings? Is this still the case? Are there any rooms with those stakes running throughout the day?

4. I booked a hotel a couple minutes walk from RW. Where's the nearest HSBC ATM?

5. Is anyone interested in grabbing a beer?
