I'm based in Canggu.
Lots of co-working spaces here. And great food.

Some examples of food/quality/price in your area? I have been to Bali a couple years ago - tourist areas only in Ubud and Kuta only and dont have clues about local food out of tourist restaurants. Thanks!

****in sucks, but thailand/indo wet seasons are opposite. I switch back and forth during these times. Leave indo in november imo, come back around songkran.

local food and tourist restaurant are completely different things. Bungkus and fried noodle/rice at local places is 50 cents per filling meal.

tourist restos on the nicer end will be about $15-20 per meal.

I eat well for $4-6 per meal, and I guess this is mostly what ur referring to with your contradiction of local food from (lower) end tourist places

Food places are spread out through Canggu. The most concentration of restaurants are probably Seminyak, just south of Canggu. I ate at restaurants every other day. For non-Indonesian food, you will pay $4-$8 per plate

Regarding Canggu, there are healthy options including Thai, local, vegan and vegetarian, etc.
Places I've tried include:
-Motion Cafe
-Macan Cafe
-Dimsum House ($10 buffet)
-Warung Heboh (Indonesian - cheapest option)
-Lupe Canggu ($6 buffet)
-Thai Kitchen

Hello. I saw some people having problems accessing poker sites in Indonesia. Anyone has updates about that?

I went to Downtime Cafe in Seminyak for a Tinder date. I'm not really too into board games, but it's a cool place. Two floors, tons of games, really helpful staff that's enthusiastic about the games. Good prices for drinks and stuff - they serve beer as well as all the coffee you'd expect. Tinder date went well, too.

GG for the date. I'm happy to read your post, I had great hopes about this specific place indeed. Since I have stopped playing poker, I really missed competition (in games) and it is difficult to find players who put a lot of heart when playing except in such places - at least in my experience.

I'm having tons of problems accessing sites. Most poker sites are blocked and strangely enough are also blocked when I use a VPN from Singapore, Europe, America. Really don't understand what's going on.

Traveling to Bali in May. Any US online poker sites that are not blocked? WPN or Ignition?

I can't give a comprehensive answer to this, especially because I don't use poker sites anymore, but I can say that what's blocked varies hugely - I think based on ISP, but not sure exactly. I stayed in 2 different villas in the same area. In one of them, I couldn't access 2+2, reddit, or even Netflix without a VPN. In the other, everything was accessible.

So my advice would be that if you decide to come to Bali, test the internet and see what you can access before you commit to a place.

Hi! Nice thread. Just spent a month in Bali and have couple of questions.

First, what would you say are nice beaches for tanning & swimming with minimal trash? I visited plenty and managed to find only one - Double Six Beach. And compared to Phuket it wasn't that nice looking, but at least there was no trash and sandy bottom. Is that it or did I just run bad?

2. What is in the northern part of island? I went to as far as Ubud only. Is it mostly densely populated local areas with bad traffic?

My favorite part of the island was Uluwatu, only area I could find where traffic was a bit more chill and you could actually enjoy driving around motorbike

And Nusa Lembongan island was also great - just 30 minute boatride from Sanur port, one really nice beach (Dream Beach) and very cheap.

I'm here on Bali, grinding online cash, currently staying in Seseh area, relatively close to Pererenan/Canggu.
Anyone in here as well?
Looking for a place to rent for the next month or so as well, if anyone knows of any poker houses with other players living in there.
