the coolest things about living abroad are the awesome stories that are on no one's lists of things to do

I tried buying from there like 6 months ago and it would have required a credit card registered from Thailand or a nearby country which probably most people here don't have. I just ended buying mine from an apple store in Centralworld.

New MBP line coming out in a few months, I'm guessing it will have SSD and a siick super high resolution display. Even if you want the older model it's probably worth waiting and getting a better deal.

I've seen this phenomena in other polluted countries as well. In heavily polluted cities like Delhi, you often can't see the sun when you look up because you're looking through that same haze.

Macbook Pro is awesome or iMac.

iMac isnt an option for me. I travel a lot and i consider it risky to carry it with me. On the one hand it can become broken during the transportation between flights, on the other hand if my luggage get lost/stolen it will be "hilarious". It might be good to have a light/small laptop like mb air in terms of security/privacy for surfing, torrents, etc. But i already have ipad for surfing.
Two months ago i was thinking about buying mbp, but since then i changed my mind.. I dont want to wait till new mbp's will be released, as well as i dont like prices for models that available right now.
Config's mentioned above cost up to 1700$. Similar build for mbp 15" is for ~83k baht = 2,7k. I would probably get one for 2k and will be fine with it, but 2.7k is kinda much. Finally i dont feel great about setting up bootcamp and stuff for using windows on mbp after paying 2.7k

Did you go to the big IT store on Petchkasem?
Do you mean the place between market village and night market/san paulo hospital? (on the left hand side if heading to the city center)
I've been there today, they have nothing special really.. just standard laptops for 0.5...1k. I couldn't define if its possible to order a specific model 'cos there was nobody of staff there =\

I'm planning a 3-4 week July honeymoon to southeast asia with thailand being a destination. Basically looking to start piecing together an itinerary. Any advice on what cities/things I should not miss? Ease of travel to other countries (want to hit vietnam and/or cambodia)? General advice? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go see the ancient city of Angkor in Cambodia. Plan at least 2-3 days to explore cause it's huge.

It would be a waste of time spending only 3 or 4 days in either of cambo of vietnam.

watch out for that hiv everyone
Scroll down to the transmission section to see how small the risk actually is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIV

And if you are using a condom the risk is ridiculously small. If you're the type of guy who drives after drinking or doesn't wear a helmet realize that that is a *much* higher risk to your health than getting HIV.

Another interesting link, the strain in Thailand/asia is more contagious than the strain in the west apparently. Just bag up FFS

borg7, football is played Saturdays and Tuesdays, with a super 6 league being played on Wed. Sat and Tues are usually played in Chalong, Wed is a field near Central Festival in Phuket Town. Carl is the captain of the Super6 team, if you want to play there you'll have to impress him in Chalong. aren't you in the fbook group?

thai ticket major usually sell tickets for most big events in bangkok.

https://www.facebook.com/Bangkok.Club.Events list most major events in Bangkok.

There is not many major westen acts that play in Thailand generally compared to most western countries, but LMFAO are supposedly playing in bangkok on the 5th April, and lady gaga at the end of May.

I was quite suprirised when I checked last.fm for suggested concerts there were practically none that I wanted to attend (compared to lets say Berlin, Germany). I guess BKK is not on the foreign music industry map.
