Is it unrealistic to expect a nice, clean studio for 7-9k a month?

dan, unless you have a faster than light connection you aren't able to ping anything further away than 1350km in those 9ms

obv the test files you have been downloading are cached locally, so try a proper speedtest (the one to LA):

My results on a 6Mb TOT line in Phuket:

lol where the hell do you people get your weather info? you are not the first one this week that is coming here and "has heard" that the weather sucks (no offense, i am just curious )

actually the weather has been great in phuket and while october and november are usually very rainy, this year we have been very lucky to avoid any long lasting rains.

the last few weeks have in general been very sunny but most days there is one very hard shower that lasts 30min-2hrs

also december is the start of high season for tourism (that lasts until april). the same period is also the driest months of the year

welcome!

I came to Thailand during the "rainy season" - supposedly the worst rainy season in decades - and it was quite OK. In BKK, it usually rained hard each day for an hour or so in the evening, and at night when I didn't notice it at all. The days were overcast, but it was still bright and pretty nice. It wasn't a big deal. It's not like in the US where it can rain for days on end continuously.

However, the islands were very hit or miss. Even if it's overcast and doesn't rain, the islands just don't look nearly as beautiful. The water is no longer that gorgeous emerald green color. It looks kinda blah.

Question,

Aside from food delivery web sites, are there any other good Thailand e-commerce or similar web sites?

Has anyone rented some house/villa/w.e. with this agency: http://www.phuket-tropical-realestate.com ?
I guess its stantard asking to ship 1month out a 3month contract preflop right? They sent me pdfs with passport of the owners, which are a belgian btw, along with the payment details. So I guess this is the normal way to do things considering I am renting in highseason (jan-apr)

Only been in Ko Samui for 30 hours, but there is so many hot european chicks. Loving it so far.

Anyone have any recommendations for 2 bedroom apartments/villas or gyms that are in Chaweng near all the action?

Can some of you guys staying in Thailand take some pictures of your studio/condo to give us an idea of the quality and price there? Also, some pics of your gaming setup would be nice.

I live in Chiang Mai right now and this is my condo. It is 2 bed room 2 bathroom about 5 minutes by motorbike from the city center. We're on the 19th floor which is the top floor. All of the furnishings/TV/speakers/washer and so on came with the place. Rent is 26,000, so my half is 13,000. We run the AC constantly and the power bill is about 7,000 per month. The building is also supposed to have a sauna completed pretty soon.

That's a really nice place. What internet do you get there?

We've got the 3bb premier internet. It costs 2,600 a month I think. You get really consistent speeds of 550k/sec down and maybe 80 up to anywhere in the world. But it will never go faster than that. Also it basically hasn't gone out at all... except this last week or so it has gone out a few times which is pretty unusual.

Hello! Coming for Jan-Feb to Thai and looking for a place combining good kitesurfing and working conditions. What are the options? Also interested in places where I can buy some kite equipment. Lots of it is manufactured in Thai, hope for cheap prices. Grateful for any info.

He stole more from ksuno1stunna, stole all of our house deposits, and stole thousands from HanleyRemirez' bank account. More details/photos but have to dig em out.

one in middle^

niot very good photos. Its been long enough... he is from Belgium, don't really know much else/have any other photos. Maybe others will comment.

Hey,

I was wondering, would you recommend skydiving, bungejumping and sports like that in Thailand (Phuket), is skydiving even possible there?

Thanks.
