Is that place legit? The prices for bikes I'm interested in were 300-700/day and 3000 deposit. I don't want to get screwed on deposit. Not sure if this place is like the jet ski places or if it's legit.

Anyone know? (or can recommend another place to rent similar big bikes that are not available in the States.)
These places on the beach in Pattaya are like the jet ski scammers, but it is easier to see a damage on a motorcycle before hand anyway. But, if you crash then expect to pay a huge premium + damage since they dont have insurance on the bikes.

I have no personal experience, but this guy is always consistently well thought of for bike hiring in Pattaya.

I heard about the if you stay in another country for a long amount of time, then you don't have to pay taxes. This is appealing to me because i live in the us and have to pay taxes. I read it was 330 days out of 365 days.

Is it possible for me to do this for next year in thailand? I heard its tax free up to $90000 or a very similar amount. I was deciding between canada which is most closer to me or thailand but the thought of not having to pay any taxes legally sounds very appealing to me. And if i go to canada, its only for 6 months max and then i have to go somewhere else and of course still have to pay taxes.

Is it something like you go to Thailand for 3 months, leave the country for 2 days and then come back to Thailand etc for another 3 months and if you do this 3 times a year, then you stayed there for longer than 330 days?

And say the next year 2013, i come back to the US, then all that money i made up to 90k which i won't make anywhere close to wouldn't get taxed at all?

It tilts me big time, been pretty busy though so haven't been cracking down. I'm more likely to get to it if you press the "report post" btn.

Are there any decent paying jobs over there, or are all you of you pretty much poker grinders and/or vacationing and living off of savings?

I need a serious change of scenery.

Very difficult for you to work with the visa situation there, the short answer is no.

why? if some legit company is hiring there shouldnt be any problems getting a work permit.

finding a job that pays enough by western standards is another story though

You can't get a work permit for jobs that don't pay "decently", with the exception of English teaching. The minimum salary to satisfy the visa requirement is 60k baht/month for Americans/Canadians, 50k/month for Euros/Australians.

There are plenty of opportunities to work in Thailand, but entry-level jobs are not an option since they can easily be done by Thais. If you have a degree and extensive experience in an area then you will be able to find a job and a work visa, if you don't then you won't.

All the people I know that have decent jobs there have very specific skills that are in demand, the guy questioning seemed to be making just a random enquiry so I don't really fancy his chances of finding anything decent. Teaching tends to be the best option for most of these types.

They are just normal people with normal business careers. There are plenty of jobs like that available for foreigners in Thailand. They are easily attainable for people who started working around age 22 and have 10+ years experience in their field. I.E. Not people like us.

Im looking for a house/condo/appartement in Phuket.
Preferably with a decent pokerplayer(s) but at least people
that dont have money problems :P.

Preferably with people who have experience with living in Thailand/Phuket.

A little bit about your self:
Age: 25
I like to party, but live balanced, workout and work hard during the periods I dont party etc.
My goal with the trip: Have fun, party hard and win all the monies.
